That level of difference is only matched by the amount between the orange alliance (who lost a tenth today) and the Multicolored Cross-X Alliance; nearly eighteen points separate the two. Indeed, such great differences between the different sanctioned alliances call for great changes in their daily score; the Mostly Harmless Alliance posted a uncharacteristically large loss of a quarter today, clenching Biggest Loser in a race where not long ago they were in line to earn the opposite prize three days in a row. Still, they hold a position of dominance over fifth-place Sparta who, in spite of their moderate gain, can't seem to reach their Aqua rivals. The nation that was the cause of the Mostly Harmless Alliance's loss migrated to The Order of the Paradox, but as their admission standards forbid new applicant from wearing their standard AA, it may be some time before we see that gain in the race. FOK's continuous losses over the past few updates have allowed The Phoenix Federation to come within striking distance of their position. We may see a position change within the sanctioned alliances soon. And while the Grand Global Alliance's position isn't in as immediate a jeopardy as FOK's, they did lose quite a bit of score today through nation inactivity, and all three alliances in contention to replace them and take their sanction - the New Polar Order, the Green Protection Agency, and The Order of Light - gained on them. The next several alliances fail to contribute to drama in the race, posting minimal gains or losses and not making any passes - and that kind of thing isn't really fun to write about. One thing I dislike even more than boringness in the Sanction Race, though, is reporting bad news: the Mushroom Kingdom, who can't seem to make it over that little 14 score bump, were felt in the dust by the Greenland Republic and The Dark Evolution, who continued their recent score boosts and seemed to race each other for a time. At the end of the day, though, the Greenland Republic, and I'm starting to get tired of singing their phrases. (Just kidding guys, if you can come as far as you have in as short a time as you have, you deserve it.) The North Atlantic Defense Coalition also closed in on their Purple neighbors, M*A*S*H; just below that bit of interest, The Legion retook their spot against World Task Force, who gained minimally despite the addition of a new nation. Finally, we have to breathe a sigh of relief for NATO, who escaped (for now) from the clutches of the Add/Drop Line thanks to Grand Global Alliance's loss today; both NATO and Nueva Vida are wandering around just below the 200 member requirement for a sanction. Also, the Commonwealth of Sovereign Nations, long ago a participant of this race (as I understand it), is hovering near the Drop Line, and may breach the Add Line in upcoming weeks.
