  1. Couple of reactions here. Ironchef is doing her best to save an alliance that is very near and dear to her heart. I wish her well in this endeavor as does the rest of Valhalla. There is nothing wrong with GGA that can't be fixed with a steady hand at the helm. Also, there is nothing in the above statements is anything that anyone who calls themselves a leader on Planet Bob wouldn't be saying in the same position. It amounts to "we need to stick closer to long time allies and if you don't agree, there is the door" and "the old system of doing business here isn't working so we're going to do something to fix it." How shocking! I'm sorry if those of you who saw GGA as a "pick up" on your list of party friends for the next big dance are disappointed that there will not be leadership friendly to your cause at GGA. Perhaps you'll have better luck with someone else.
  2. Well she was a little bitter after the affair ended...oops.
  3. Well he would have covered my departure from Rok, but it lacked scandalous screenshot goodness.
  4. 1. Yes 2. No 3. Faster, !@#$%cat! Kill! Kill!
  5. Like pining for the fjords of Atlantis? There are no problems between NSO and Valhalla as of yet, but please I'll step back and let you continue to impress. EDIT: grammar is our friend
  6. At the time, Hoo was being publicly gracious about the whole thing. Was he happy? Hell no. No one at Rok was happy. Is JB now my problem? Thankfully no. But don't expect me pass along congrats to anyone regarding his "release". It's their call, just like it's your call if you want to cheer him for somehow getting his nth chance. Log dumps only have entertainment value when you aren't the subject. But then we're talking basic common sense here.
  7. Should have earned a spot on Rok's PZI list, but hey, if you're into people that log dump in the CN Forums, good luck with that I guess. Also, just an observation... It's very easy to run up casualty numbers on Planet Bob. Some people have done it, in part, by "heroically" attacking friends and fellow alliance members for lulz then quickly declaring peace. No, the real warriors know who they are. I've known many of them and been pleased to call them friend. One thing they don't do...measure the size of their e-roosters to win a stupid argument.
  8. Most unattractive forums: Umbrella (technically I've never visited them but I've heard rumors) Most embarrassing player: RyanGDI (what else needs to be said?) Craziest IRC Channel: #carpediem (ya'll need help ) Worst Mistake: Those intrepid leaders of Jarheads who thought they could win the game by bringing in all their nerd gaming buddies to Planet Bob to kill NPO without explaining that this isn't Halo 3. Ugliest Avatar: joracy's : Seriously, it's sorta funny the first time you make out the letters, but after that it's kinda...reflecting on your possible I.Q. level.
  9. To all those "woe is me the community is dying" people: It's dying so well it's back over 30k nations. Honestly, get off of it. To those of you who say there will never be another "Great War", some of you still think we've not fought GW IV. Please. As for the rest of you, your ignorance of Planet Bob history is showing. Events behind the scenes unfold in their own time and while it is fun to speculate what certain moves coming to the surface mean, the realities of the behind the scenes stuff take us closer to large wars than most all of you realize. The only thing that can be said for certain is: there will be blood. Perhaps sooner, perhaps later, but it will happen.
  10. I'll be reading the next installment. Apparently so will most of Planet Bob, given the number of people that appears looking at this topic. Schatt, you are in danger of becoming the Rush Limbaugh of Planet Bob.
  11. You make joining NPO sound so...appealing. Let me help you out here. This game boils down to safety in numbers vs. freedom. Some would say that GPA had both, I would argue that GPA was a bureaucratic morass that completely frustrated freedom. Safety in numbers isn't always about the largest alliance, sometimes it's about having the largest number of people willing to ally themselves with you through treaties. Ragnarok for example was and for the most part still is at the nexus of a number treaties including multiple blocs. Ditto Valhalla, a much smaller alliance that is tied to the Continuum along with a MADP directly with NPO. The most free people in this game are the unaligned. They can do pretty much what they want, when they want, with no government to answer to but their own. They also are in the most danger, day in and day out. You therefore don't really need to make a major political science study of this. NPO is a very large alliance that maintains a number of treaties and is a member of multiple blocs. Do you as a NPO member have freedom? Less than most. But if that appeals to you, roll with it.
  12. I guess my only reply, beyond congrats would be... Non, je ne vais pas dormir avec vous ou à votre chien ce soir.
  13. o/ Valhalla o/ Olympus I understand that this was a case of a protectorate getting all grown up and earning an "adult" treaty. Continued good luck to Olympus.
  14. My biscuits are better...from scratch, with real buttermilk. Congrats to Nemesis and to Hoo for using AVG Anti-Virus.
  15. No one likes a meter maid. It's not personal, they just don't like tickets. What they hate with a passion nearing that of terrorists are the "concerned citizens" who get the meter maid's attention in order to point out an expired meter. Think about it. If Bilrow wants to make it a hobby to call out people for sig violations (and that's was the vast majority of his reports are), I see that as an annoyance, but not a major issue. At worst the person gets their sig removed. What concerns me are those people looking for an advantage for their alliance based on their ability to ding people up with warns until they stop coming to the forums or worse, get people in game warns until their nation is deleted. I would hate to think that ANY alliance would condone such behavior and if any alliance actually took the extra step of designating people to look for violation to get rid of political enemies, the leadership of that alliance should probably take a step or two back and ask themselves why they are playing this game. To win through rules lawyering? How very, very sad. Everybody at some point sees a rules violation, either in these forums or in game. I would never discourage people from reporting a violation. However, there is a MAJOR difference between browsing for trades and after seeing an obvious Nazism and saying, "hey that guy has "Aldoph Hitler" (misspelling deliberate) as his ruler" and reporting it and deciding that NPO is your enemy and spending hours each day combing through through nations and everything they post in order to find something reportable. Doing the former is a community service. Doing the latter is rules lawyering and should stop, whether or not the mods catch on to your tactics.
  16. You're just about there, but missed something. The thing to watch is: 1. Who is listed. 2. Who listed them. 3. What future action is actually taken. I don't think that Moldavi is expending even 1 oz. of political capital at this stage. If anything, people are burning political capital working toward removing the "infamous" off PZI/ZI lists. Think about it.
  17. Yes, the S.S. Greenland Republic if the poll on the matter is accurate.
  18. Ahhh...it's nice when that last puzzle piece fits into place. Good catch, Geoffron X. Question now becomes do you condemn everyone that comes through the door from that clan. The correct answer is 'no', btw. Some very good Planet Bob residence have come here via other "web sites." OOC: Hell, I just enjoy the competition. Pity others don't.
  19. My part is to provide intelligent observations and witty banter. Oh and...rattle the bear cage now and again.
  20. I'm waiting for the day that every alliance with 20 or members will, through treaty obligation, be forced to declare war on itself because of something someone did. The day before Vox will post IRC chan transcripts of the conversations regarding the DoW and will post them here. Just before the DoW, several allies will announce they are canceling their treaty with said alliance, that they have notified the concerned parties in private channels, and will refuse to elaborate on why. Regardless of whether they are joining in the DoW, NPO will make an announcement that will be hailed as brilliant, trolled, then all conversation will break down to a peeing contest regarding some point of history that is no longer relevant to 90% of the people who are on Planet Bob. The war will end with some seemingly impossible amount of reps being named (despite the fact that reps aren't called for) and the original alliance crippled, probably permanently.
  21. I think it depends entirely on whether or not its founder decides to stay with it or eventually moves on to another alliance or leave Planet Bob again. I watch the whole scene with interest.
  22. I send your Ignore List to the Gulag and it disappears from the group photo with Stalin.
  23. Should you do so, I wish you well. Sincerely.
