  1. We're happy to control or be controlled, really. We're not picky.
  2. Congratulations to our ally in Sengoku, and to their new ally in DoD. This is a good, solid pact.
  3. Today, Aurora Borealis is proud to announce our first protectorate, Novus Omega. We’ve had the opportunity to get to know Vosegus and Isolationist fairly well over the last couple of months, and they’re good people who are sincerely interested in creating a strong, prosperous, and friendly alliance. We’re happy to help them learn, grow, and eventually achieve this goal. With that said, here is our simple pact: Iuvenes Luminaria I. Sovereignty Aurora Borealis and Novus Omega recognize the sovereignty of one another. II. Protection Aurora Borealis will defend Novus Omega from aggression. Novus Omega may choose to support Aurora Borealis in its military endeavors. III. Support Aurora Borealis will provide Novus Omega with guidance and aid. IV. Cancellation Either Aurora Borealis or Novus Omega may cancel this pact, as long as they provide the other party with a 48-hour notice during which this agreement will remain in effect. Signed for Aurora Borealis, Drake Spoke, Triumvir Jutopia, Triumvir Sarkin, Triumvir Signed for Novus Omega, Vosegus, Head of State Isolationist, Pontiff
  4. Hell, I'm up for it. Only participating in one league last year was weird, anyway.
  5. Auctor, I think we ought to disband AZTEC. We should probably disband our alliances, too, just to be safe.
  6. Nah, it's fine if people know that. As long as they never discover that AB is protecting GLoF, who is protecting DT, who is protecting Solis, who is protecting Moldavi, who is protecting LUE, everything will be alright.
  7. Congratulations on announcing, Solis. And, congratulations on your protector in DT. For whatever reason, I think that they're pretty chill dudes. Except Bob.
  8. Good luck with your comeback. As an aside, your graphics guy is, uh, maybe a little too inspired. That's a rather festive logo and flag.
  9. Every society requires a Socrates. Whether or not CoJ does a good job of fulfilling that function is another matter, but best of luck avoiding the hemlock.
  10. Well, that's pretty strong talk from an alliance leader toward an ally, especially out in public. Or, should we expect to see a cancellation of the Red-Fire Pact shortly?
  11. That's not necessarily true. Many peripheral alliances nominally in the Equilibrium coalition worked hard to improve the efficacy of the coalition war effort on the basis of professionalism, not ill will. If you're in a war, and if you have some measure of pride in your ability to wage war, you'll fight to your utmost. If your coalition is not doing the same, and you push them to do better, you're not necessarily doing so because you hate your opponent. You're doing so because you fight wars to win wars, decisively. I'll leave it up to OWF's judgment whether or not that's what occurred in the past war.

Aurora Borealis accepts your gratitude for our few, simple connections.
  13. My condolences for the treaty cancellation. On a side note, nice OP. Explanations are good things; there should be more of them on the OWF.
  14. I'll never understand why so many people are so eager to denounce the creation of new alliances, especially micros. Without them, this place may as well go into stasis. How else will we get new blood into our decrepit political scene? Would you really rather see the OWF filled with more election announcements featuring the same names that have held office for the last three years? If people think that they will have more fun starting their own alliance than joining an existing alliance, more power to them. It's a game, after all. Congratulations, Sandstorm.
  15. Congratulations on the upgraded treaty! Glad to see this happen.
  16. Not bad, although you probably have a little too much Auinur (the truth hurts).
  17. Seeing two of your allies sign a treaty together is always special. Congratulations to both parties!
  18. Perhaps you wouldn't have had to clarify your comments if your initial wording were less abrasive. I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish, since responding to an honest (if admittedly pointed) criticism with a condescending, derogatory personal attack certainly doesn't make you look like a "big shot," either. Congratulations to Farrin on his promotion. Enjoy your retirement, Brehon. Taking a step back for a while may prove beneficial in several ways. It did for me, at least.

  20. Aurora Borealis is proud to welcome The Dark Templar into AZTEC. This is a happy, long-awaited moment. o/AZTEC
  21. A treaty cancellation is never a happy time. Best of luck moving forward to DT and TORN.
  22. Aurora Borealis is extremely pleased to formalize our ties with an excellent ally and friend. In the TOP front of the war, we had the chance to work with Sengoku, and it didn't take us long to decide that we wanted to get to know them a lot better. You guys rock, and I'm glad to see this treaty finally posted. Long live Lumina Sanguis!
