1.
People are making less sense by the day.
A stark reminder that sobriety is a good thing to have while surfing the OWF. Though I think I was trying to point out how obvious his attempt to bait someone into an argument was. I think.
 2.
True. They should try it on somebody more competent than MJ, like C&G.
It's like fishing with a subwoofer as a lure and Christmas lights as your line...
 3. Damn it! Now if we're ever on the losing side they'll cut and run! ^ Imagine if my self esteem was really that low?
So, seriously, what changed in the past 2 weeks?
I'd think that it's a positive development when two alliances take their relationship in steps.
May be Legacy is now more sure that Mj will be in the winning side.
I just hope for your sake that you're only playing for jokes and politics when you say this and don't have a genuine belief for what you're saying...
 4.
So pretty much like every war that TOP has fought. edit: in before BiPolar anomaly deflection.
It's an reflection at the unfortunate state of our language and tendency to attack when you had to add that edit despite saying "pretty much like", eh?
 5.
Do you believe MJ or MK will attack you? If so, are you considering the preemptive attack strategy?

1. yes 2. yes
Oh, please come at me, bro.
 6.
This thread is not about Mogar's sexual preferences. You meatbags are disgusting. Knock it off and get back on topic.

Well, Nordreich likes Germany. Considering the massive levels of shame Germans feel over the last Reich, I doubt they want anything to do with a fourth one. So, I'd recommend you go to one of the SF alliances (CSN, R&R, RIA, GOD) - the bloc opposed to NoR's bloc.
At least it'll make things slightly more of a challenge . . .
 7. Oh, wow, I forgot how funny that was. It'd take waaaay longer to do an up-to-date one. Though a Bi-Polar war version of this would be hysterical.
 8. You're so right here, Magicman, and I endorsed your proposal. Jerdge has a good one too. I think the most sleek way of doing it would be assigning every nation 4 resources when they start and allowing them to pick any 2 as "in-use". You can change your "in-use" resources once every 3 days, like religion and government. The improvement and wonder Jerdge proposed should also add 1 resource slot to each nation. That would give each nation 6 resources (but still only able to use two) and allow groups of nations to actively organize their own trade circles. A group of 5 nations can, theoretically, organize their trades perfectly for maximum growth. It doesn't make sense that a very developed nation that spans thousands of miles should only have native access to two resources. The larger the nation is, the more likely it is to contain more than two natural resources. The more advanced it is, the more likely it is to be able to take advantage of those resources. Active players who organize their trades with others will be rewarded by this, while those who choose to ignore trades will stagnate in comparison. That's a huge improvement from the currently random system.
 9. Sad to see youwish go, but Rayvon is a very capable successor. Glad to see you on the throne, congrats
Horrible move. Bad Rayvon bad
I think you know what I'm going to be saying shortly...
 10. What Robster said looked more like a joke than an act of belligerence, perhaps because you provided no context. I understand that UPN is not particularly well-liked, but that doesn't make this okay, unless, of course, there is a lot more to this story. Is there?
 11.
I quite enjoyed the less so. MaGNeT is quite obsessed..

he is in a good way
Damn right. I love me some Sith...
I... can't actually read that treaty. Is there a text only version?
I'm going to agree with the gentleman from GOD, for once . . . I didn't even bother reading that. I go away for two days and DT goes to !@#$. edit also congrats to us and colossus on the treaty blah blah
 12. Do you consider yourselves more or less important than Vox Populi in the pre-Karma months?
 13.
Vox is just as irrelevant now as it ever was.
It's funny because he's not serious
 14. Vox is arguably the best thing that ever hit Planet Bob. I will not forget, but I am afraid that far too many already have.
 15. You remind me of someone EDIT: If you're commenting on the post-Karma era... this is actually a pretty damn good piece. If not, it was lost on me.
 16.
Pretty friendly with MK/PB only lasts as long as they allow it. At one time they were pretty friendly with SF/XX. Now they have replaced those nations with others via the treaty web and they aren't so friendly with them at all. The way I see it if you keep helping the fox catch the chickens, when he runs out of chickens he is going to eat you even if you don't want to eat him.
The problem here is with the notion that Mj is within the MK/PB sphere of influence. We have much stronger ties to other parts of the web, namely AZTEC and Duckroll. I know that DT has always been quite amicable with MK and some members of PB. That does not mean that we consider ourselves bound to them nor do we expect them to think the same of us. What I'm getting at is that a lot of us in Mjolnir don't really have an agenda that has much to do with MK and I think Ardus meant that his agenda doesn't have much to do with us. The fact is, we like each other quite a bit, but there's no real romance or hatred. If you're right and they decide to move against us one day down the road, that'll be fine, but it won't be because of Mj acting for power. I don't expect MK/PB to come knocking at our door a few months after SF gets knocked down because it's our turn to get punched.
Exactly. If you don't mind being MK's cupbearer, no one else should.
I'm not sure why you think Mj is doing their bidding, mind elaborating? I presume that's what you meant, as I won't be handling any of their crotch protection...
 17.
I admire your optimism about it at least. But PB/DH has already shown they will roll an alliance they think is growing too large even if you aren't making any kind of aggressive political moves. Right now the only upper tier that can take on an Umbrella/MK combination resides in the SF/XX sphere. Who, after two years of being closely allied to, and rolling others with MK/PB is suddenly immoral and not to be trusted?? Why SF and Fark of course, the very upper tier that could threaten them. If your nations grow to a potentially threatening size, look out. You will find yourself on the short end of the MK/PB stick.
I won't deny your point that MK, the other DH sigs and a bunch of alliances in PB are power players. Hell, they wouldn't deny it either. That being said, there's a stark contrast between us, a bloc that is pretty friendly with virtually everyone except SF and NPO, their sworn enemies. To me, it's like telling someone to watch out for Bill because he punched his ex-wife's new flame in the face. If you're not dating his ex-wife, odds are he probably doesn't hate you. It's not perfect, but hey, it's 3AM.
Didn't Mj sort of accept a diminished role before this was even written? I don't see how anyone can get upset for Ardus calling it like it is.
That'll be the reason a lot of us Mj people are sitting here scratching our heads about the (likely feigned) outrage on our behalf. I mean we're very flattered that so many people out there are concerned about our welfare and all, but they ought to chill.
 18.
If the alliances of Mjolnir think they have to be "bent on world domination" for the other dogs in town to want them marginalized, then you've got bigger problems than being listed for marginalization.
You have a point. I'd just hope that the other power centers out there see us for what we are - a bunch of friends who just want to look out for each other. We're not looking to shake up relations in PB to bring ourselves more influence. We have no intention of being major power players. We just want to be there to help one another and settle injustices.
 19.
He is saying that MK expects Mj to fight for them not that he does personally. MK seams to certainly think they have you ready to order around here.
Um, no. I can't find anywhere in that post where Ardus says that he's got Mjolnir ready to fight for him. MK holds no grudge in the supposedly upcoming war (keep an eye on my trade circle, usually wars start within 14 days of them falling apart). I'd say the big grudges are between TOP-NpO and Mj-SF. People don't seem to realize how tame the grudge is between us and SF, too. Obviously I can only speak as one member of DT, but my feeling is that our gripe is from being extorted. We want to see that made right and we've said many times that it doesn't necessarily mean that we need to spill blood. I can assure you that we don't have any love for anyone in SF, but I'd think that we try to be diplomatic and reasonable. After all, we're secure enough in our ability to wipe the floor with them that we feel no need for saber-rattling .
DT seems pretty good
Thanks
What exactly do you think nominal means?
You're implying that this bothers us. I think many of us in Mjolnir are quite content with not driving politics, especially considering the fact that we don't really have the size to back up such a doctrine.
You're assuming that Nordreich, Mjolnir, etc. want that power and that we seek to deny it to them.
Spot-on, Azaghul.
Exactly, so PB-Mj tension results in MK siding with PB. The point everyone is trying to make is that MK views Mj as second fiddle to PB and will only use it as a means to an end. You can spout all kinds of crap about being a catalyst to build a friendship between the two blocs, but you were also a catalyst for CnG and SF to be allied, and look how that turned out for the "second fiddle." Mj is tied for my favorite bloc with AZTEC, I don't want to see them with a MK target on their back this time next year.
I appreciate your concern for us, I genuinely do. I also don't doubt that we're second fiddle to PB in MK's eyes. I mean, just look at the treaties. They only have an ODP with NoR and a supposed tinfoil hat treaty in the works with DT (I'm not aware of it - and I'm gov...).
<snip> Understand that the only alliance I can claim to speak about with any kind of authority is Nordreich, since as a former leader I have some idea of issues that have come up time and time again. But I'm not in our government, so what this amounts to is a really good guess on my part. Since our reformation, one of our guiding principles has been "leaving well enough alone." However, others have, at various times, taken advantage of our good nature to infringe on our sovereignty. This has been a colossal pain in the ass for quite a while. Our allies were always prepared to back us up, but we weren't prepared to throw them into a meat grinder by starting a global war we knew we could not win. Nevertheless, our primary concern has always been about security. That's it. We've never had a serious conversation about 'settling scores' or 'getting even' or disbanding adversaries or any other nonsense people might wish to dream up. Our primary concern is ourselves, and I believe the same may be said collectively for Mj. More than anything else, we just want to be left alone to do our thing. However, we have been told point-blank by some people (hi, Xiphosis!) that they continue to maintain grudges over incidents that occurred nearly half a decade ago. As long as we receive those kinds of threats, you can be damn sure that we're going to pay attention to them. There you go. Our 'bold plan for world domination' is defense of ourselves and our allies against people who have declared that they have some kind of vendetta against us. Scandalous.
Yeah, I can only speak as one member of DT, but I think we're pretty in-line with what Zog is saying here. DT has always had a policy of live and let live, unless you do something wrong to us. If that's the case, you'll see us railing against you at every turn, but like I said earlier and like Zog said here, we're not out to kill anyone. The way I've always viewed us is that we look for justice for ourselves and our allies when we've been wronged and if everything is fine, we'd rather leave well enough alone and just chill with our friends. The agenda has never been to dominate for domination's sake. We'd much rather seek justice for justice's sake and defend our friends for friendship's sake. That doesn't mean that we're pacifists, obviously, there's a reason that the Mjolnir signatories have a reputation of never shying away from a fight. So, if Ardus really is this evil puppeteer who wants to make our influence nominal, he'll have plenty of help from me.
 20. As a Giants fan, aside from the obvious pain I feel seeing the Eagles do well, it's a stark contrast to our abysmal off-season. I guess I'll be rooting for the Jets this year.
 21.
I am still thinking the bombshell out of all this is MK's plan to keep Mj subjugated after Mj fights a war for them.
I'm not sure where you got the idea that we'd be fighting a war for anyone except ourselves, if we do indeed fight one.
 22.
Oh that was classy.
What did you expect from the leader of GOD?
 23. Best of luck to you if this gets off the ground and I don't mean to be disparaging, but it might be smarter for you if you joined an alliance rather than started one at 3 NS...
