  1. Enjoy the retirement, Tronix. I like seeing Pansy and Timberland in govt.
  2. The tech costs 4.6bn. I can give you the rundown. It cut the warchest in half, give or take some money. Money well spent, that jump should have been done in peacetime.
  3. People declaring wars officially. Nice artwork, by the way.
  4. Thanks for the numbers, Shinra. Argent did its share of fighting on our front, they just have the luxury to cycle and let others hit us, except in the very upper tier (or what's left of it) where there's just not many nations left period. Normal strategy, there's only so many slots to go around.
  5. I'm sure RIA can post a proper declaration of war if it is the case.
  6. Two solutions, HoT. 1)Ask your government to do a formal recognition of hostilities with EvU, on your behalf. 2)Assume the fact that you are a rogue.
  7. Agree with Salajol. For me, it was BiPolar. For the game, possibly Karma, as it was the first massive, complete and abrupt change of power. For newer players, Equilibrium is probably their much less satisfying version of it.
  8. It's not silly. I'm kicking ass in the lower tier. I got knocked down hard because of an anomality: at 50k NS, I got DoWed on by a guy with 13k tech. Alone, he is responsible for 90% of the damage my nation received and that includes 11 other opponents. When I got out of PM, I also expected to go down to the lower tier. That was the plan. To fight where I knew I'd kick ass. But hey, even on the first cycle of wars, when I got DoWed by that 13k tech guy (with all of my 3.4k tech), I did exactly 74k damage and took 37k myself (34k of that coming from Link's nation). Look at the damage I'm taking at the moment. Your guy asks how we doing in the lower tier. Not how I did in the middle tier.
  9. Right. But my nation never grew above 45k NS, so to speak, I started this with 1.2bn. I beefed up to 50k NS when I first DoWed and I lost all my tech to this gentleman above you, Link, who DoWed on me with 13k tech, an anomality that wouldn't have happened normally (but I grew 7k during my first days of war) so he was able to down declare on me. I still see you got a raging one for us, though, Otter. Hopefully this war gives you a chance to evacuate all that pent up rage that you got regarding TOP. You know, for all the atrocious crimes we've committed against Argent, or something. I'm still doing quite fine. A billion, at 15k NS, lasts for months. I don't really expect to see another 13k tech nuke turret DoW on me at this level (I still outdamaged my opponents during that war cycle because of the six to one ratio of nukes I could drop, including 4 SDI-less targets). Also, 3k or 1.5k tech, the difference isn't exactly massive. In terms of damage, it's probably even better that I am at 1.5k tech because the folks countering me got no SDIs which really maximize the damage I do. It was more of a tongue-in-cheek comment because we don't really have a lower tier to speak of but hey, feel free to really get angry about it. :)
  10. I'm doing fine, thank you. Could wage war for another few months without turtling. I do appreciate that you guys take time to throw me a few SDI-less nations every cycle. It's real cool.
  11. Could you provide examples of active (read: fighting) nations with WRCs who are close to 500 tech or less?
  12. Think of it this way: My little brother was a pest. I could try to talk things out with my little brother - which generally ammounted to nothing - or I could beat him until I felt satisfied and no longer angry. Digiterra is a lot like that.
  13. At some point, there is only so much you can fix. War is, by far, the best way to mend broken relations on Digiterra.
  14. Why are people bashing GOONS for prefering to keep their alliance as a lower-mid tiered one? If your argument is that wars aren't won in the upper tier, they aren't won in the middle tier either. Keeping a lower tier AA can be useful - and has been very useful, indeed. It's not like your side isn't doing it; many alliances on your side prefer to have their new members do tech deals rather than send them aid, creating the same kind of gap.
  15. When you have mammoths and giants at your disposal and can't even win battles, it's time to retire and let the real men play the game of thrones.
  16. I'm extremely torn on your alliance, EvU. As a principle, I am opposed to MLP-themed alliances, as I hope TailsK has relayed. However, you do seem to be at least somewhat competent and HoT is calling you traitors.
  17. I never said it'd be that great of a fighter. I said it could do it.
  18. The last part was from me. I didn't say you're terrible. I said you were probably either making the choice not to grow or probably lacked the discipline to get tech deals every 10 days religiously. There is also a part that plays in how you build up your nation, even though people seem to say everybody got it all figured out. When to buy which wonder, etc. I've seen many models and they're definitely not all the same or as good as the others.
  19. You can go back one page before and read, from my own posts: "Some people choose to voluntarily stay small." I'm one of them. I fought to ZI in the LSF-NoR war, not very long ago. I'm also fresh out of PM. I couldn't use my slots before, as I was in PM. I can't import technology right now. My warchest, while more than decent for a 20k NS nation, is around a billion. I understand you have no experience of prolonged warfare as any kind of commander - or experience as anything but a moralistic mouthbreather - but if you want your nations to fight for a long time, you need to prepare for it. If you had made the same argument during peace time, it maybe would have mattered. Unfortunately for you, save for episodes of inactivity because of RL, I never leave my slots open. My nation is small because I like it that way. I like that I'm able to fight in every conflict. That I can go on a crusade if I want to, rogue at my pleasure and still rebuild easily. Now, back to your hole.
  20. I never implied my generalization applied solely to your side. There are plenty people bad at building nations, hell even among our own ranks in Paradoxia. Elite alliances do attract the best (large category), as a general rule, but it's by no means a sure thing. Since BiPolar, we've been really less than spectacular in slots use, to my great regret. We don't recruit, you're right, but we do invite friends and esteemed adversaries to join our ranks if they seem interested. We also have several rerolls joining us. Back then, we had people from the Paradox Interactive forums. We still get a few per year.
