1. You have been my greatest friend and closest confident, my most bitter enemy and my rival. We have been each other's salvation, just as we have played Judas to each other. We've helped eachother countless times, both as allies and not, and seemingly fought just as often. Perhaps for the first time in a long time, I don't really feel much of anything for polar, either positive or negative. Oddly enough however, I feel hope and I have faith that there is still much to see from Polar both good and bad. Whether the world likes it or not, you have played a greater role in defining history than will even dream of. I am not really sure how to define our history but it is one we have in many ways shared. So cheers to 6 years and to the future! You've well and truly earned your existence in this world, which is more than can be said of many alliances in this world.
 2. Only about 70 of us left. Jan-Mar 06 was the best group.
 3.
We've had a few conversations. Admin is a groovy dude. First talked August 16th 2006. Began socializing every couple months i.e. when he came on IRC in like September 07. Facts are gleaned during such conversations. oh god no if I am playing CN in 6 years jesus that would be sad
We need to make a support group or something, let's face it, us oldies are never going to be free otherwise. Cyber leaders anonymous. Oh well, I'll meet you at 6 years in a couple of days.
 4.
This just in, IRON has now changed its name to IRIN. Shan That aside Congratulations to all those awarded, thoroughly deserved
I need to find a better proof reader.
 5. Official Announcement and presentation from the Independent Republic of Orange Nations I come before you today as part of a tradition ingrained deep into our Republic's history. It has been some time since this ritual was last performed, awaiting a list of deserving individuals to arise. With great pleasure I that today I bestow two awards upon worthy people, the Distinguished Foreign Dignitary award and a new award comissioned solely to recognise the contributions of someone who fell outside of the scope of the DFD, the Noble Opponent award. These awards will be few and far between, and only bestowed upon ambassadors who show outstanding friendliness, benevolence, and respect towards IRON. They can always be counted on to assist in resolving issues quickly, calmly, and respectfully, and are true friends of our glorious Republic. Robster83 of the United Purple Nations iWin90 of Grand Lodge of the Freemasons Yevgeni of The Order of the Paradox Tronix of Valhalla Janax of Argent (post humous) Rhizoctonia of the East India Company Calderone of Ordinary Men Fighting Giants Arexes of Non Grata TECUMSEH of the United Purple Nations The Noble Opponent is awarded to enemies who have acted with dignity, respect and in good faith, and in doing so have marked themselves as an adversary worthy of respect. Random Interrupt of the New Polar Order Each individual awarded today will be forever honoured in our halls of fame. If they so choose, they may also freely wear or display their medals with pride. Thank you all for your time and attention. 6. Hail to my viking friends. Hail to metric supremacy. To many more years to come!
 7.
I don't really think you're getting it, MCRABT. This is just to antagonize UE. Some of your tech dealers get siphoned off, too. xpard, for instance.
We are not oblivious to the implications of the document, as you think. Not only is it a perfectly reasonable and sensible policy, it is a perfectly reasonable means of protesting another policy, one we do not endorse.
 8. It is both amazing and unfortunate, that someone who has apparently been around approximately as long as I, has somehow managed to grossly misunderstand the most basic nature of the social contract that every alliance I have ever encountered in all these years has held. I can only assume this is due to your professed preference for irrelevance and the relative security it brings. Indeed I fully understand why the reasonable government found in GLOF were infuriated by your selfish approach to alliance participation. I greatly suspect that had you not decided to ignore your "family" (as you put it), and instead worked with them, you would have found monetary aid and other war time assistance forthcoming in abundance, you likely would have made friends (as you desired) and possibly even had fun. These other individuals are correct. Your massive post will garner little, if any, sympathy and certainly not bring GLOF into disrepute. You describe GLOF following social norms (that were common even in early 2006), whilst displaying a complete ignorance or wilful disregard for social norms and the community you participate in. Congratulations, I think you best find another micro alliance no one has heard of, to stroke your ego and to hide from the real world in. EDIT: Certainly I have no idea what universe you are from, but the world you seem to think existed is not one I ever remember and if it did exist it died before the first great war.
 9.
That's under the assumption that their entire alliance is that wieldy. Lets not act like they don't have at least 30 ghosts and that their turnout for cooperative members isn't going to be near 100%. I'm not making a judgement about the reps, saying they are right or wrong. I'm simply stating that it is an insane amount to organize and will be pretty incredible to see happen. Sure in terms of theoretical numbers they can move that kind of tech in a month, but if that kind of tech can be moved then why isn't every alliance doing it all the time?
If they get less than a third of their alliance sending aid, and only using 5 slots, they can pay it off in under 4 months and still have a few weeks spare. I'm no longer an advocate of reparations, however these aren't that large over history and the allotted time is hardly requires staggering feats of organisation that haven't been already been massively surpassed by lesser alliances than Polar. They undoubtedly wont like it, just as we didn't, but I have every confidence in their ability to rise to the task without breaking a sweat.
 10.
On topic, during the Bastion(Later named & when we jettisoned the name via the RIA-Rok-VE mini-bloc), discussions I asked if either FOK or R&R could give a reading on what IRON's intentions were. What I was told was that they hadn't really interacted since DarkMistress's departure. I believe the R&R relationship was reinvigorated after R&R canceled on ODN over the Prox/Arsenal C&G vs LEO 2.0 stuff and the VoNC talk on GFL.
R&R has always been an awkward on/off relationship that relied on various personalities. I think that's probably right for them at that time. As for FOK, we had been dealing with them quite a bit, especially with orange related stuff, opening up the senate and things to them and I vaguely recall discussions as to the viability of a top-fok-iron based bloc for the purposes of doing some interesting things (I'm not sure if we had talked to fok about it yet nor not). Of course that all died off pretty quickly once Karma came around and we have fairly limited contact since as far as I know.
 11. Internet died stop I won't be around for a while. Also in hospital again but expect to be out tomorrow.
 12. So after talking to triyun I thought up a way that would make everyone's life a bit easier. I make no promises to actually finishing it (although I've done most of the hard stuff now), but I am currently working on a simple website that will allow you to do your own rolls which will be recorded in a public log and linkable (among other things). It's not pretty but it's now, mostly (2/3), working. Of course then I need to find somewhere to actually host it since I'm currently without a (publicly accessible) server.
 13. Once you are satisfied with turning the rubbish into floating slag, we shall be sending a small flotilla of factory ships that will collect and process the slag into food, commercially known as Soylent Black, for sale to impoverished nations.
 14.
mabye you are not in touch with news. THE TROOPS ARE WITHDRAWN....mabye you got that.

FROM: RdlL Ministry of Foreign Affairs TO: the Democratic Republic of Gallifrey SUBJECT: RE: WITHDRAWL BODY: You have shown repeated ill thought out interest within our region, now we are taking an interest in yours.
15. Le Royaume de la Lumière is similarly concerned with the placement of foreign troops in neighbouring lands. Following our allies lead we will also be sending a small force, the 4th CVBG, to the Abrolhos Bank, outside of Sao Mateus. From their they will coordinate with allied forces. ***** The Royal Palace "Majesty, why are we sending an entire CVBG?" "Because I was bored and I how else are my men going to 'see the world' when they enlist if I don't send them on extravagent world tours of force projection?" "Point made, your Majesty."
 16. PUBLIC OMNISCIENT NEWS NETWORK A national crises was declared today as Tropical Cyclone Monica hit the coast south of Rangoon. The Cyclone, which hit formed as the already strong Monsoon season began to peak unleashed violent storms and waves across most of the nation with the coastline battered for days on end. Low lying flooding and mudslides have displaced tens of thousands of inhabitants as residents flee to major cities inland. With the death toll already at several hundred and thousands more missing the damage continues to rise. With the monsoon season already causing several hundred million in damages, experts warn that the figure may rise to over a billion before the season ends, making this one of the most expensive disasters in the nation's history. The government released a statement today that the national armed forced would be tasked with assisting further evacuations, preventing damage and rebuilding. In the mean time great refugee settlements have formed outside major cities. Charity organisations are present providing food, water and clothing with the government pledging further support. OOC: War damage.
 17. I am unlocking my nation now. My mother is okay, my own personal health has improved after its rapid deterioration and with the season coming to an end I have some time again. Thank you everyone for your patience.
 18. In recent months the Independent Antarctic Preserve has been petitioned by an unusually high number of parties requesting land and sovereignty over a variety of Antarctic territories. As such we feel the need to remind the world of the following. 1. The IAP is an international preserve administered by an international consortium of scientists and environmentalists, with funding and support provided primarily by le Royaume de la Lumière which established the organisation. 2. Excessive human colonisation has wraught untold damage on what was until relatively recently the last pristine lands in the world. To the extent that a large area is permanently irradiated from nuclear war. 3. We are tasked with protecting the continent from those who would damage it, preserving it for scientific and environmental reasons, and repairing the immense damage done to the lands by direct human presence and actions. To those who would lay claim to these lands to establish industry, military bases, dump population, or simply to lay claim to land on a map that they shall never see, we vehemently deny their requests and suggest they look elsewhere for their cheap glories. Granting such requests is anathema to our raison d'être. Finally I would like to address the special case of a small indigenous population, a collection of left over peoples from failed past colonisations who have titled themselves "The Forgotten Ones", who have coalesced to form a small community on the coastline, south of Australia. Having met with these people, we have found them largely in compliance with regulations for protecting the continent and they have agreed to assist in maintaining the local area. Therefore we have granted this community a Class 1 licence and will provide limited technological assistance in order to ensure a minimal environmental impact from this community. 19.
For me, Update blitzes are 2 PM. Therefore, I am pro-update blitzes.
Living in the western pacific region is wonderful for cybernations. 3 or 4 PM here (depending on DST)
 20. I cant help but wonder why somebody lopped off his nose.
 21.
Yeah, but dating bloc treaties is complicated by the constant change in roster. For SuperFriends, the only remaining original member is RIA. On that note, is the Orange Unity Treaty (Apr. 23, 2007) still active? Wiki says it is.
Active isn't a word I would use to describe it as. Also the IRON/NPO nap has been in existence since early 2006, although as mentioned it got updated in 2007.
 22.
wow, did i really just pop back randomly in the middle of another polar-stomp? either i have incredible timing or this ship's sailing in circles
Probably both. We all know CN is terribly repetitive at the best of times, but even so your timing is pretty funny with that.
 23.
That never happened. IRON never, I repeat, NEVER, betrayed NPO. Oh wait, it did happen. For your own sake, next time when you post a declaration of war, do not cite something about loyalty and honor. You betrayed NPO in Karma war by cancelling your MADP treaty when they need you most, that is a fact. You are a betrayer yourself, you are the last alliance to talk about loyalty and honor.
You really should brush up on your reading comprehension because there is nothing of the sort in the DoW. In fact it implicitly acknowledges our failings in the past.
There is much we have forgiven and much we have been forgiven for. Betrayal is not a concept new to us.
You are partially correct though. As we did meet our treaty requirements, and defended NPO (among others), we do not see it as a betrayal but rather a strong protest of their actions. We do however realise that it was a dick move and just about everyone who was part of that has expressed regret and would do things differently if given the chance. On the other hand the NPO did see it as a betrayal, and (presumably much like you) assumed we were shamed into action by the public. So did IRON betray NPO? Depends who you ask, both opinions are justified. Does it matter? No not really because both of us have spent a lot of time and effort making amends for our mutual wrongs and have forgiven each other and now enjoy a positive friendship again. How does any of this relate to the current war? It doesn't. From our perspective, Polar betrayed us, left us to burn, and then laughed at us. From their perspective this may or may not, be the case (although I have seen polar members agree it was a betrayal on their part, on multiple occasions). Communications since then have not resolved these feelings and here we are.
 24.
I wasn't querying the deception, just the claim in the DoW that IRON and TOP were aiding Polar's cause by pre-emptively striking MK and the rest of C&G. Am I to conclude this claim was a fabrication seeing as no one can actually tell me how it is true?
It was meant to be part of a wider coalition front which was headed by Polar and that is how it was planned. Planned with Polar's involvement and approval. Certainly it may have aligned with a few of our own goals but our actions were indeed intended as support for Polar and their war. Honestly though, think whatever you want, you're going to do so regardless.
 25. EDIT: You know what I don't have the time to get into an argument so I'm just going to leave that for someone else to address.
