Crimes of Persuasion

Experimentum

Recommended Posts

Due to the sheer number of screenshots necessary for the illustration of Part II and the encoded limitations of these fora, I direct you to the old Behind Cyber Nations newsroom for the full version of my post.

So that you have some idea of what this post will be about, I include the two closing paragraphs here:

Former NEAT members, it is to you as well that I owe an apology. While I at the time sided with those who felt OBR shouldn’t honor the spirit of The Factum de Gremio Rosa, I realize now that Sirs Yenisey, Gwalchfaen, and Quercus were right. You expected us to fight for you. We didn’t. We offered to stroke a check instead.

We told you that we couldn’t enter the military conflict because CIS, a Signatory to The Writ, was involved in the battle. While it is true that we couldn’t have engaged CIS, we most certainly could have kept our word and declared on ArGo, Andromeda, and GOD. We would have died, yes. But OBR’s honor would have been maintained and your trust in us rewarded. Instead you found your alliance forcefully absorbed into OBR’s military wing and your identity as a sovereign entity washed away.

I hope you’re all just as entertained by the sequel as you were by the original.

Right. And opinions of you and vox is any better.

What does that have to do with anything?

It's about time the Order became interesting. I cannot lay blame on you, Experimentum, for your path is one I have walked. I only hope you know what you're doing.

What does Vox have to do with this? This topic is related to events that happened long before Vox was a twinkle in Doitzel's eye.

Seems like a pretty sticky situation. Good to see Quercus standing up for what is honorable. I would expect nothing less from him.

Wasent directed at you, more at ninten and his statement about how OBR seems to be less then what they are regarding honor and integrity. However, if he is to make such statements about another alliance and their values based on just one person, I felt it was only fitting to remind him of his place in cybernations and his own alliance he resides in.

In the end however, what really changes? OBR still will watch CN, Baer in FAN will continue poking fun at NPO, I still will crave booze, and tC will still be the strongest bloc.

Let's not turn this into a Vox thread, okay?

The amusement contained herein is far too good to muck up with such mundane, "serious business" matters.

Edit : Clarity.

That check was a zero short minimum you ask me, I'm sure the members of Neat in there haste exepted your shinny beads to cover your real secret. " Most of you are cowords" and I use that term loosley, pixel and bean counters at best, please tell me agian why anyone in there the right mind would put there name on any document that was produced by The OBR.

Calling anyone who resides in the Rosular Kingdom, and serves her highness a coward is defamatory libel.

You, sir, know nothing of nobility. Nothing of honor. I do think that you understand pride, though. Pride can be a dangerous thing. My fair queen and her knights know when to set pride aside, and do what is right, and noble.

And tell me, Mr. Freelancer; why is it that you build up a nation, here in Digiterra? You seem to 'retire' all too often. I think the pride you feel after building up a nation counts as 'bean counting'.

I'll just bother commenting on the bolded part. From what I have seen and read in the two posts made in regards to this issue, OBR doesn't seem to know how to set anything aside but their own guilt to do what is right and noble for them. I'm sure there is more to the story than is shown, but from what has been loosed to the public, OBR are as guilty as anyone else who does not uphold the spirit or wording of a treaty signed in good faith.
