Interesting the last time Ivan abdicated a throne it was to Dilber in 2006. Some of us old farts will remember well the dramatic shift in diplomacy and direction of that alliance. One wonders if the Sith are about to embark on a similar shift? I honestly cannot even venture a guess. Where I knew both Ivan and Dilber well in 2006, I literally know nothing of this Lintwad. I do wish him the best in his endeavors, Ivan has no doubt built a strong foundation upon which Lintwad can further the Sith.

I think Ivan just likes collecting the "Imperator Emeritus of the..." in his status.

I have always considered myself to be a good judge of another nation's ability and proper placement. It has been a pleasure watching Lintwad rise through the ranks of the Sith over the last eleven months. He is a testiment to the success of the Sith Challenge system and the meritocratic methods we use to select our leadership, where anyone of ability can rise to a position of power. He moved from a regular member up to the Darth Council over a period of several months and has demonstrated outstanding diplomatic ability while in the roles of Sith Lord and Dark Lord of the Sith. If I didn't think him capable he would have been fed to the wolves long ago. He will be a better Emperor than myself and will make our alliance proud.

Well, each of those titles are representative of positions that I am very proud to have held.

This is pretty shocking to say the least. I hope this doesn't mean we will be seeing less of you Ivan. Hopefully the challenge system you have in place allows you to rise back to the top soon.

I give it a month before Ivan is back to running NSO again.

I believe I have proven that "triumphant returns" after a transition to a less tyrannical form of leadership is not one of my strong suits.

lol.....

Hail Emperor LintWad!

Also, since LintWad has ascended to the Sith throne, I have taken the liberty of proclaiming myself Dark Lord of the Sith once again. The Emperor will need a man of courage, conviction, and action at his side. I am that man. Feel free to hail me in here as well, proles.

Forcing a leader to either step down or break his word when a simple thing could have been done... jeez. I'm pretty disappointed in every one of you that pushed & signed for this, when a compromise on wording change is all that was required to make a difference here.

Anyhow, congratulations NSO. Your leadership, both old and new, is of high caliber and consistently impresses. Good luck in the future.

They knew what they were doing when they pushed for that particular wording. I know I won't soon forget this.

To be fair, I could have said no and continued to fight.

I agree with you. Changing the wording from surrender to an admission of defeat is not that big of a step. WUT allowed us to do it in the League.

Quit dodging me Ivan!

I like both Ivan and Lint, so do not take this question for anything more than it is, a question that probably has an interesting answer.

Why do you feel keeping your word and not personally surrendering, and resigning your command before your alliance surrenders, is honorable in light of the situation you put your alliance in? Your alliance is at its lowest moment, destroyed in war, with many IA and FA issues to address, and needing strong leadership to rebuild itself. Instead of taking charge of that you decide to step down and make it other people's problems? To me it seems like this would be the time for a great leader to take the personal hit in order for the betterment of the whole, but you are not doing that, you are letting your personal feelings work to the detriment of your alliance.

If you actually believe losing my position as Emperor of the Order gives me satisfaction that would in any way compensate for some perception that I am avoiding personal surrender then you could not be more wrong. Aside from that, I am still a member of the NSO, so I am part of this surrender, correct?

As for strong leadership, I don't ever allow anyone into a position of power such as what Lintwad has held if I have doubts of their ability to do the job just as well, if not better, than myself. I don't plan to go anywhere and he will have my counsel.
