Naval Battle

Louisianan planes were quite successful in their attack on their Dutch counterparts, only losing 20 planes in the assault as the enemy lost almost half their number, unfortunately the successful of the Louisianan pilots were not felt by the Louisianan navy.

“This is Captain Mire, we’re sinking, abandon ship, I repeat, abandon ship, we’re sinking.”

The message rang out through all parts of the massive Louisianan ship; it would be the first major Louisianan ship to be lost in battle since the formation of the country. L.S.S. Zachary Taylor was hit from multiple sources, but the death blow had come from shots of a Dutch rail gun which ripped through the Taylor’s protective layering and caused an enormous amount of damage to the already hurting aircraft carrier. Fires quickly spread throughout the carrier, and not even the massive steal fire-proof doors were able to stop the spread, soon entire parts of the ships were covered in flame, explosions were quick to follow; the Zachary Taylor began to slip beneath the water as the sea embraced the ship in a deadly embrace.

The other Louisianan aircraft carrier, the L.S.S. Talluah was in a little better shape than the Zachary Taylor, but not by much. The Talluah was also hit by shots from a Dutch rail-gun, but luckily managed to contain the fire which resulted from the contact. Unfortunately, the multiple hits the Talluah took from various rockets, and others Dutch salvos, destroyed much of the Talluah’s maneuverability. Then, when the Dutch launched a massive cyber-attack, the Talluah’s already damaged computing system, took on even more damage. TheTallauh was dead in the water, although still able to launch and land planes on its deck; the massive aircraft carrier was unable to do more than sit as the battle raged on around it.

The Anti-Aircraft Destroyers were perhaps the most successful of the Louisianan top-water ships in the fact that only the L.S.S. DeRidder was damaged enough to sink beneath Poseidon’s waves. The L.S.S. Polk was hit by a number of enemy projectiles, but though crippled, managed to limp to a Sarnungian Republic port, where it would stay until the war was over. L.S.S. Athena and Jennings took minor hits, but soon engineers on board both ships patched the damaged areas enabling both ships to continue the fight.

Although the explosions from beneath the waves proved how successful the Louisianan anti-submarine Destroyers were, somehow a Dutch submarine must have escaped as the L.S.S. Colfax was sunk when multiple torpedoes impacted from below the water as they hit the Colfax. The L.S.S. Fordoche was no less lucky as it was damaged enough from other Dutch sources that it too sank into the ocean’s embrace. The L.S.S. Rosegate took evasive maneuvers and managed to avoid a death blow from a Dutch torpedo, but was damaged enough to where the Captain pulled the Rosegate back to the troop transports. Only the L.S.S. Tullos remained undamaged in the fight, and continued to try to track, target, and destroy the Dutch submarines. The Tullos unleashed another salvo of depth charges, 10 ASROCs, and 5 rocket launched torpedoes.

Louisianan submarines, L.S.S.s Littlefoot, Bigfoot, Chenault and Galvez remained undamaged and were reassigned the task of escorting the troop transport ships to a Sarnungian Republic port, it was a short trip to the port.

The 30 squadrons of Louisianan fighters which had flown ahead, and the 20 squadrons of bombers which flew ahead to Louisiana’s new holdings were diverted and landed on a Sarnungian Republic airstrip where the bombers would be refueled and be on alert for immediate takeoff. The fighters landed, refueled, and were quickly back in the air. Twenty Squadrons (240 planes)would be sent to escort the troop transports to Sarnungian port, it was their shop to provide air cover so that the Louisianan troops would make it safely back to land. Ten squadrons (120 planes) were sent to provide air cover over Louisianan territory and coastal waters, making sure not to violate Spanish airspace. These fighters would be in constant communication with Sarnungian fighters, and allied planes and ships in the area to avoid a friendly-fire scenario, their job would be to provide cover as Louisianan troops packed up and secretly abandon the Louisianan Spanish land, and transported necessary materials and supplies to a Sarnungian port. The satellites watching would probably pick up this movement, which is why the extra fighters were patrolling in case the enemy took this time to try a blitz.

OOC: Yawoo, still need concrete numbers for what you have there ground-wise (locations would be nice too). <__<

OOC: KP invaded before the satellites had pictures of my territory, so until he posts his revision, I'm not going to release that information as it would directly change how much people he might invade with, sorry.

OOC: You put troops there before he invaded, you can't just change that number after, how many did you initially put?

Changing it now would be godmodding. You already put some people there by plane.

Changing it randomly would be godmodding.

I never said anything about changing, but thank you for a definition of godmodding. I said, I'm not going to release what troops, where I had my stuff, etc... until KP posts his revision as no satellites were focused on my territory when he posted his invasion.

OOC: I have given my allies high resolution images of your territory, Yawoo, so for any further movements you will need to release that information. Also, the 44 sizzlers fired below will be totaling 94 ASMs fired at you from me.

IC: The carriers, which were holding steady in Dutch formation, managed to refuel and rearm the aircraft and UCAVs for another strike. However, 3 aircraft and 3 UCAVs were destroyed during the combat, and only 44 Anti-Ship Missiles could be fired. In the Valencian theater, a strike group of 3 PAK-DAs, carrying 2 FOAB weapons each, launched their munitions against the Louisianian base. Each FOAB, with a 300m blast radius, is bound to do heavy damage.

OOC: Gentlemen, I'm quite aware of what has been going on in this thread, there is no need to remind me of what occurs. I have provide the correct amount of intel where applicable, and will continue to do so. If you have any questions or concerns over what I am releasing, please take it up with me via PM so as to avoid clutter in this thread, or contact a GM for a ruling on the matter.

With word from Louisiana that they were withdrawing, the INS Italia and her two escorts, the landing ships INS Omaha and INS Sword, swung behind their own fleet to sidle up to Louisiana's territory. The plan was simple: unload their compliment of 1,440 Marines, twelve MBTs, and vehicles to cover the departing Louisiana forces. Since the Italian Federation wasn't at war with most of the parties who declared on Louisiana, hopefully their troops would be avoided. Cobalt and Emerald squadrons would provide air support for Louisiana and Italian troops. After all Louisiana troops were off the land, the Italian forces would pull back and set sail for home.

A message was sent to all allied countries informing them of this plan to avoid friendly fire incidents.

The HAE strongly condemns this use of excessive force and will consider sanctions.

Three squadrons of F-45A fighters mobbed the PAK-DAs, who were extremely overwhelmed and the FOABs were unable to be launched at the base.

OOC: sending three planes against hundreds is not a good idea.

OOC: Ok, I'm going to go ahead with my movements since under the Iber Treaty, I'm obligated to defend Valencia.

IC: The fighter and attack squadrons assembled at various airfields in and around Valencia as the flight group of bombers were inbound. Guided by Taeunas spy and GPS sats, they would fly to 1900km from the Italian Federation fleet and loose all 720 missiles. 600 of these were scatter warheads that would explode at 10k ft. over the target area, flinging out a total of 390,000 bomblets to rain down on the ships. One half were designed to penetrate reinforced armor, the other for defeating light armor while causing shrapnel and fires.

The last 120 missiles, fired after the scatter warheads, were typical ASM's. These would cruise in just over wave height at the ships after the bomblets had taken their toll.

The missiles being a "fire-and-forget" weapon, the bomber would turn around after their bays were empty, and head for home.

Meanwhile, two more squadrons of bombers were being armed in Taeunas, and would fly to airfields in Valencia while the original four returned home.

OOC: They're supersonic stealth bombers, with a Valkyrie-like speed performance. (Mach-3)

IC: Although several fighter attacks destroyed 2 PAK-DA bombers, one made it to deliver 2 FOABS.

OOC: 100 vs 3 Niko and no offense but with that many aircraft there is no way any of the three bombers are getting through due to numbers alone.

Meanwhile, the wargames done by the GDR's naval forces were ending slowly, with the fleet further east having won through strategery.

Everyone was congratulated and the ships began making their way back home.

OOC: Sorry DeSchaine, but there's no way those missiles have a range of 1900km. So, the attack is ignored, because they never would have gotten to my fleet.

The ports of the Sarnungian Republic were opened to the Louisianian ships. Immediately, the crews were ushered off of the ships and into hotels around the city. Louisianian colors were covered by Republic covers and repair crews were sent in without a second thought. The other ships limping towards the coast were joined by two squadrons each of F-46 fighter-bombers to escort them.

Supplies were being sent and fuel was transported, and suddenly a large amount of construction and moving was going on near a Republic military base on the Mediterranean coast.

OOC: He flew planes most of the way, then those planes launched the missiles, so yes, they're in range.

OOC: Um Merger it says: Guided by Taeunas spy and GPS sats, they would fly to 1900km from the Italian Federation fleet and loose all 720 missiles. So from this it says they are 1900km away when they fire their missiles.
