I've stayed out of this thread because I don't believe in discussing issue between allies in public. The fact is if you keep making incorrect statements like this one it will only make things more ugly later. If you want to support Val for not leaving your side, the best thing you could do for them would be say nothing.

I'll try to explain this for you in a short version, no one like walls of text. Doch was pretty on the money for the most part, he gets us. I'm a moralist by some peoples definition, but not by others. Polar doesn't raid at all, but doesn't try to decide if others should or shouldn't. Polar is very much about doing the right thing by our members and allies. We'd rather lose a war defending an ally in the right than win a war at an allies expense. We do engage in real politics at times, but only when it benefits our members and allies. We're also honest with the other alliance involved where that happens. One thing that stands Polar apart from many other alliances though is we will not partake in any coalition or plan that would knowingly involve any ally being attacked. For an example of what I mean look at R&R who actively joined and supported a coalition, knowing that coalition would be hitting three of their own allies. That type of behavior disgusts me to the core and is a great example of where the line falls between moralist and real politics for us. We are a military alliance and we have no issue with war, infact we love it. Winning is better but even losing beats collecting taxes and paying bills for too long! If any one wants more understanding please take it to an embassy as it's not really related to this OOC war stats thread!

I know Polar had many players struggling for time with exam finals for students and Christmas/holiday preparations for older members with families. We'd probably be a good representation of players across CN so perhaps it will improve in the new year. Back on stats though, a quality opening blitz put us way down early but like most others we're hanging around 1:1 since. This will become a war of attrition and politics so pretty boring for people not involved in the political side of the game.

Considering we've been in a global war since then none of us have had a chance to find out yet ;)

War lengths and what is appropriate vary from one situation to another. I join the majority here in congratulating TSC for fighting hard and getting peace.

The do have one with us. I chose not to activate it but make no mistake OcUK wouldn't have hesitated if I had. Their word is their bond and and means for more to them than their pixels.

I agree with Stewie on this. Polar hitting NG this war was about helping allies and the treaty web influencing where was the most viable point. We're very different alliances and may never treaty for that reason, but the grudge is dead.

I have come to the conclusion the old timers were right! Just to set the record straight I'll point out how you have perversely twisted something that was to help end a long issue to try to justify your actions now. I'll point out the subtle but significant difference and the intelligent people who read this will understand it. After literally years of embassy talking one issue had been acknowledged many times by multiple people and indeed multiple Emperors from both Pacifica and Polaris including your current Emperor at that time. The issue was that while we both had many members who regarded the betrayal of Polaris by Pacifica as some old stuff that happened before they even played CN, we also both had some very senior members who'd never got past it or let it die. I stated to Farrin well before the war, when I was trying to convince him to drop NSO and NG before they dragged Pacifica into a war with their plotting that if we ended up on opposite sides in the next war, we would seek to engage you. The reason was simple and one understood by all involved. Despite all the wins and losses since, we'd never fought each other and despite literally years of diplomacy there was some significant members of both who hadn't let it go. The hope was it could be the end of it all. Be crystal clear on this though, attacking Pacifica was never any goal for us, primary, secondary, tertiary and beyond. Making the most of a situation for mutual benefit should we have found ourselves on opposite side of a conflict was. Try to understand the difference. OsRaven I certainly do consider myself a "moralist" though I suspect my definition and yours don't match.

I have stated clearly and consistently Polaris did not support terms which we (Polaris) would not happily accept as well. I don't speak for any other alliance. Shah was there. If you dont want to listen to me because it doesn't suite your agenda, listen to your own. Berbers you can do better than this, push yourself to see the clear and simple message, I speak for Polaris only. I would like to point this out to all the hypocrites pretending this war is over NPO having terms last war... Some of the strongest and most vocal advocates of NPO getting terms are now on your side. The message I get from you guys is pretty clear "It's ok to insist on, push for and help enforce terms on anyone. As long as you're on my side next time". Why not drop the bullshit Berbers and admit you don't give a rats arse about terms because you wouldn't be in bed with the people you are if you did. Finally Zos: I love you like a brother Zos but stop. The NPO nations not in that small group that this debate is about fought their hearts out. It was part of why I sought to find a solution acceptable to all because those guys deserved praise, not terms.
