I'd like to see the stats for the coalitions as a whole. Bull Moose currently has 7.5% of nations in PM, AGW is 13.8, The Sasori Initiative is at 8.6. Even if they are micros, I wonder about their impact on the numbers as a whole. EDIT: So bored, doing this.

If we are all one big happy family, there's no need for politics because there's no need for war. It's the constant struggle between the have and the have nots that keeps people around and keeps politics turning. It provides a long term goal for the alliances at the top (to destroy their opposition as can be seen through the current DH assault on SF/XX) and at the bottom (to overthrow those in power as can be seen through the attempt to manipulate the LSF-NoR situation to bring CnG onto their side, or to keep them neutral). If MK does eventually get overthrown I think there will be another "hegemony" being that there will be people who hate those in power. Whoever is in power will be seen as a tyrant simply because they are the one with the power and the people who don't like them are the ones without the power. I am not a fan of MK, but I believe no matter what they do, people will still call them game-ruining tyrants because they're the ones at the top, they're the ones pulling the strings. I believe another power sphere will rise to the top eventually, and there'll be another group at the bottom who will cry fowl and call for Karma 3.0. Everyone wants power and those without it will label those who have it in a negative way.

People have gotten used to update where it is, and I agree that SE can interfere with TE, but I think any move in TE update will screw over people more than it would help anyone.

I would not like a reset at all. It would make things even and pretty fun, but to be honest I would hate losing my nation and a lot of people with 200k+ nations would most likely leave. Also as for the TE suggestion, I'm against it. TE is TE and SE is SE. People wage war to punish alliances who have wronged them or simply to damage other alliances. One week wars would ruin this. You might lose a million NS or so, but you wouldn't be causing any damage that couldn't be fixed in a month or two.

The fact is that this is what our people were facing in the first round. You with zero soldiers after being nuked and staying that way until the next update. That was really all they could do. Also despite your wording, what you are essentially saying in the second half of your post is "I have more money than you so your alliance sucks". Wonderful debating there.

I view PM as a legit tactic as long as it is used as just that, a tactic. A tactic that is actually part of a plan. The only time I get mad about PM is when there are orders for everyone to be in PM.
