  1. I would say yes as more of a courtesy than anything, but forgetting to post in the OOC thread shouldn't negate IC actions. If people did the annexation in 7 days, there is still another week to contest anyways.
  2. Novak would respond to the message with a request for a meeting between Admiral Kochavi and Prime Minister Francis Urqhart.
  3. Late in the hot morning, voices could be heard in the chamber of the Majlis al-Shura in the capital of Aden. The lighting in the massive room glistened off the ornate, yet traditional designs. The main doors, in the north and west entrance, were made of bronze and accented with jewels. The floor was a green and gold carpet. The desks lined throughout the chamber were filled with representatives, talking among themselves, others were playing solitaire. The north door opened. Several men and the Prime Minister entered the chamber. Outside the door stood two guards, who closed the door after Khaleda Shakir entered. At both entrances, the doors were locked shut. On the second floor, guards would lock the entrance to the visitor seating. Prime Minister Shakir settled into her seat. On the agenda was a tax reform bill, designed to encourage foreign industry to operate in the country. Using her background in economics, Shakir spoke on the bill with little passion. When she finished, others took their turn to discuss and debate. The discussion would be the only topic of the day. The visitors watching above would be bored, but intrigued by the way some would speak. A few blocks away President Basindawa was talking with Foreign and Defense Ministry officials regarding the ratification of the Indian Ocean Commission. His office, on the top floor of the government building, was lined with shelves of books. The desk was as ornate as the rugs, with intricate designs flowing through both pieces. The window in his office faced the Legislature Building. The sun beat down on the white exterior as he glanced out the window. When he turned back, a rumble was felt as the books shook out of place. In a few seconds, the glass shattered as he covered his head. One of the Ministry officials was unconscious. As the President sat back up, two gunshots were fired. Somewhere off the coast of Novak Admiral Aviv Kochavi, Chief of Novak’s Military Command Council below the Minister of Defense, was preparing to speak from a conference room aboard the ship. The attacks on the government leadership would cause panic across the nation and among allied leadership. The reaction must be well-planned and decisive, he thought. Strong leadership was necessary, without the arguments that plagued the Majlis al-Shura. The Admiral was standing at his podium, a solid wood fixture with the color seal of Novak on the visible side. The flag of Novak was noticeably missing, in favor of the grey wall behind him. The camera was focused and the microphone was tested. The broadcast signal began transmitting across Novak, and could be picked up by anyone around the world. The red light appeared and the camera man gave him the signal to begin. “A few hours ago, the Majlis al-Shura and the President’s Office were subject to a large-scale attack. We believe the Prime Minister was the primary target. The attack, killing our President, Prime Minister, her Cabinet and seventy-five percent of the Majlis al-Shura, is the single-most devastating attack on a Novaki government in any incarnation of our nation. Moments after, we received a transmission from The Lord’s Sword claiming responsibility for the attack. In these dire crises, we must remain united. We should not falter to the enemy which seeks the end of our prosperity and way of life in favor of extremist ideals. We must focus on our interests and needs as a country, to come back from this destruction. In order to ensure the stability of the country, the Military Council will maintain interim governing power. As Chief, I will hold the position of interim President and Prime Minister. An interim government will be formed until such a time we can hold free and fair elections. We will ensure our safety in Novak, in Africa, in the Indian Ocean, and in the world. We will use all resources available to defeat The Lord’s Sword and their allies. In line with this, we will no longer participate in non-ratified treaties, including the Indian Ocean Commission. Novak has, and always will be, the beacon of prosperity in Arabia. I intend on continuing that tradition through any means necessary.” The camera man cut the video and audio, while the broadcast signal was cut. The Admiral would order the ship to return to port.
  4. Unless you have evidence that can get people banned from the game, I don't know what you're laughing about. It won't change the fact you're banned from #cnrp2.
  5. Your last bit is funny, there's no luck. It just means he hasn't acted like an idiot. The channel has nothing to do with CNRP2, so it's up to the channel ops to unban you.
  6. It's not just Vektor, it's three nations who do not want the Japanese in the Indian Ocean. What rule did the IOC violate, which resulted in the retcon?
  7. I recall someone asking me about the ships for points concept and how we would determine how many points each "type" gets, so I'll list out the concept: Using the following list, from the rules thread: Corvette 200, Diesel Sub 300, Frigate 400, Destroyer 600, Nuclear Submarine(Attack, not ICBM)/cruiser 750, these are the points that are already in use. I suggest adding in Battleships at 600, Landing Ships at 750 and Carriers at 1500. The carrier is just double the largest number, for simplicity sake. To exchange a ship, you just "sell" the type of ship in exchange for points to "buy" something different. When selling, you can sell only what you have pre-multipliers. This avoids the ability for players to abuse the system. For example: A nation has 10 from IG and purchase 20 from points, for a total of 60 in the RP after the multiplier. If a player sold the corvettes after the multiplier is applied, they receive double the amount of points than they spent, effectively creating unlimited points for an unlimited navy. If it's based on pre-multiplier, then the only additional points received comes from IG ships before the multiplier. As a part of an IRC discussion, I remember someone mentioning the balance between large and small nations when it comes to purchasing carriers, landing ships and battleships. I am indifferent to that discussion, so if the prohibition on purchasing those three stands, I won't effect this proposal.
  8. Getting rid of nuclear weaponry isn't the answer. The answer is quite simple: All overseas forces are protected by the SDI, should they be targeted. This includes ground and naval assets. They cannot protect any territory or forces not owned by a nation without a SDI. All territory, including protectorates, are covered by the SDI. Should the nation be targeted, or the nuclear weapon goes through or over the nation with a SDI, it can be activated. The SDI can protect against nuclear warheads, nuclear bombs, dirty bombs, snukes, a suicide bomber with a nuclear device attached to his body, or anything that can be called a nuclear weapon/device.
  9. Add Bahrain and Qatar as Novak protectorates.
  10. Signed for Novak, Ali Ahmed Karti, Minister of Foreign Affairs
  11. Dubai - After the administrative responsibilities of Bahrain were transferred to Novak, the Majlis al-Shura declared the island and Qatar as a protectorate of the nation, citing cultural and strategic reasons. Local leaders in Bahrain would not notice the administrative change, aside from new contacts to ensure stability in their region. Qatari leaders approved the protection in an economic agreement last week. Aden - The African League struck a deal with the Japanese government over islands in the South Indian Ocean, after a bizarre attack by the Norse government on the Japanese fleet. The deal, which turned the islands over to the African League, reportedly cost $10 billion. Further plans for the islands are currently classified.
  12. The current system is good, as is. I don't see the need to change the current, simple, system into this system.
  13. "We support our ally's entry into the Indian Ocean Commission."
  14. "Novak recognizes the new nation of Great Britain."
  15. Following the Emperor, Prime Minister Kahleda Shakir signed the document as well. After the legislature ratifies the treaty, her signature would be considered binding.
  16. **Secret to Druk Yal and Persia** The provisions of this treaty are acceptable to us as well as the meeting location in Persia.
  17. Please add Eastern Province, Makkah, Riyadh, Al Bahah Regions, Asir, Jizan and Najran Provinces to Novak. http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?/topic/122778-novak-news-network/?p=3292223 http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?/topic/122778-novak-news-network/?p=3292732 http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?/topic/122778-novak-news-network/?p=3293556 http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?/topic/122778-novak-news-network/?p=3294757 http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?/topic/122778-novak-news-network/?p=3295501 http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?/topic/122778-novak-news-network/?p=3296014 http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?/topic/122778-novak-news-network/?p=3296843
  18. "We will fund the project 25% outside Novak and 100% within Novak. We vote yes."
  19. I'm fine with the voting as it is. It's simple, effective and gets a group of 3 GM's [s]suffering[/s] elected in a timely matter.
  20. Riyadh - The provinces of Eastern Province, Makkah, Riyadh, Al Bahah Regions, Asir, Jizan and Najran have started the assimilation process into the federal nation of Novak. After many months of securing major cities, towns, oil fields and the borders, the citizens of these provinces overwhelmingly voted in favor of becoming individual states within Novak once again. After the results were confirmed by the Ministry of Interior, leaders of the provinces were declared interim governors until an election could be held. Aden - The Ministry of Interior has declared the following sites a protected cultural/natural site of Novak: Simien National Park Rock-Hewn Churches, Lalibela Fasil Ghebbi, Gondar Region Aksum Lower Valley of the Awash Lower Valley of the Omo Tiya Harar Jugol, the Fortified Historic Town Konso Cultural Landscape Bahla Fort Archaeological Sites of Bat, Al-Khutm and Al-Ayn Arabian Oryx Sanctuary Land of Frankincense Aflaj Irrigation Systems of Oman At-Turaif District in ad-Dir'iyah Historic Jeddah, the Gate to Makkah Gebel Barkal and the Sites of the Napatan Region Archaeological Sites of the Island of Meroe Cultural Sites of Al Ain (Hafit, Hili, Bidaa Bint Saud and Oases Areas) Old Walled City of Shibam Old City of Sana'a Historic Town of Zabid Socotra Archipelago The goal is to ensure the security of these sites for generations to come, building upon Prime Minister Shakir's dedication to preserving the history of Novak and the region.
  21. It's open, so I assume it's like rerolling into any white space.
  22. Threats are silly, as that will be a lot of clutter for two-sentence posts. What I am talking about is this: Who decided an unelected mapmaker gets to be the person to decide when something is legit, over the GM's?
  23. **Secret** The seven southern provinces were under Novakian control, with radical Christian resistance picking up in the Eastern Province again. Their leader has issued a stern warning to the Novakian government, as well as the Jews and Muslims of the country, that they will attack and conquer those who oppose them. If a Christian does not pledge their allegiance to the organization, they too will be condemned to death.
