  1. 'Messaging specific, individual nations off-team to vote for a senate candidate' 'Messaging specific, individual nations on-team to vote for a senate candidate' 'Mass messaging all nations in an alliance to switch alliances' These three are mostly the ones which I regard as not infringing upon an alliance's sovereignty, but as with all of them it largely depends upon the alliances in question.
  2. Believe it or not this was an effort to save time on my part. Considering that you're the only alliance who seems to not forewarn nations you recruit of the fact you are in the process of a severe beat down it became very irritating having to explain your alliance’s background, actions, why so people were attacking you in this war etc. Minus the NPO propaganda and excuses. After the fourth or fifth time of encountering such nations I simply got tired of having to explain such things every single time I declared war upon someone and chose to mass message the newer nations of your alliance to avoid attacking such people and make this a 'straight fight.' It seemed to work for the most part. Well, the number was certainly somewhere between twelve and twenty who I received further replies from before leaving your alliance. Point taken, it’s leaders seemed to mostly be those selling off their nation’s assets so they could attack and win against far weaker targets, it was most likely this selling of infra which resulted in them becoming ZI or nearing ZI. A coward’s tactic but hardly unexpected from the NPO. Cortath was certainly one I encountered more than once who seemed to have a very large war chest and very few casualties for how far he had fallen in terms of strength. OOC: If not your leaders then it was certainly your older and stronger members lurking in peace mode. Am I the only one who recalls seeing the first four or five pages of the NPO nation list filled with very old and strong nations cowering from the fighting because they were too afraid to risk their own nations in battle. Not every nations under the Pacifican flag chooses to allow your secret police to sanction insults to those they are fighting. Nor do I recall them every stating that such messages had been sanctioned, they were merely intangible threats which could not be followed up. Why? Your new leadership seems to openly admitting most of its previous crimes and the NPO is not in a war trying to recruit new cannon fodder. That appears to only be a list of those who I attacked, I was also including those who chose to attack me. Though I will admit one hundred is more an estimated guess than an actual statistic.
  3. OOC: Note, some of the terms used within this post may not be regarded as strictly IC. For me the Karma war was the beginning of the end for a long string of conflicts, before it I had participated in the GATO-1V war and directly after that the Vox Populi Resistance Movement (as well as briefly leading a group of Blake’s 7). Quite frankly it was the justice Bob had needed for a very long time. Despite the destruction of my nation while allied with Vox its last surviving warship, Battlestar Pegasus, and the few thousand survivors of the slaughter committed by Pacifica chose to fight on. It was about this time that the Karma War began. I fought for Vox at first striking back at various nations counter attacking those allied to Karma then joined Ragnarok in hunting down long time NPO nations who had apparently chosen to sell off their infra and tech in order to gain much larger war chests and to be avoid being attacked by stronger nations, while in turn attacking much more inexperienced Karma nations with incredibly high numbers of improvements. In addition to this I repeatedly found NPO nations I attacked knew nothing of the Karma War nor the Pacifcan crimes towards the alliances of Bob. Many it seemed had recently been recruited into the alliance as cannon fodder against Karma, through mass messaging I was able to explain and show evidence of the NPO’s history to many nations. This resulted in several dozen leaving the alliance on account of fully understanding what they had joined, and helped deprive the NPO of a dishonourable method of keeping up their numbers and strength levels in the war. Throughout the war I fully focused upon attacking only NPO nations, watching as Pacifica was abandoned by its allies as its leaders cowered in peace trying to avoid the fighting in any way they could. Those who did fight screamed intangible threats at me and ordered by to remove the NPO flag from my nation under threat of EZI. This became particularly funny when one nation I had just ZI’d threatened to do such a thing himself, or when people started doing them same whilst hiding in peace. The NPO’s surrender ended the long string of wars I had fought between April 26 2008 to July 19 2009. The end result had been the successful anarchising of 71 NPO nations out of roughly one hundred fought. Not bad considering neither Outer Heaven nor Battlestar Pegasus had ever reached the technological level capable of building and firing nuclear weapons. I stayed with RoK for a short while afterwards then kept my word and returned to GATO.
  4. Vladimir, shut up and go advertise your spam elsewhere.
  5. Long answer: An alliance which is democratic, plays Cybernations for fun and knows when (and when not) to show mercy. Having active forums would also help keep things interesting. Short answer: GATO with a few improvements.
  6. At least you can admit you have yourselves to blame. And considering the NPO's drive to gain more power, usually in whatever way deemed necessary, I can understand that you would look towards making sure you had a greater flow of tech coming into your alliance. But I have to ask, was this before or after you released GATO from acting as your personal "tech farm" suppliers? Or was it when you began to get the slightest inkling that you might run out of alliances to beat down for tech and money? Or that the next one you found some contrived excuse to attack might just have a few allies on its side?
  7. Yeah, people are really going to believe that aren't they. Still, it'll be very interested to see what happen to the Cult from here on.
  8. Well it's short, to the point, and you don't have to take several hours out of your day to get to the actual content of what's been written. Kamino = 1 Vladimir = 0
  9. Probably a Representative Democracy. This is due to the fact that I like the idea of having the general members personal opinions carrying some weight in the alliance's decisions, but at the same time lacking the problems involving efficiency so commonplace within democracy itself.
  10. So you're saying that we should have left an alliance who invented* CN's version of genocide and death camps in power where they could do whatever they hell they wanted, say whatever the hell they wanted, and make the game boring by enforcing their own version of peace on other people. All without any repercussions. [sarcasm]Yeah, sounds like a good idea to me.[/sarcasm] As for me, I voted for 5 due to the fact it might have made things interesting. I'll probably just sit by and watch the fireworks though. * = and most frequently used. Probably not. But hey, it'll be interesting to see if someone does try to roll Bel Air.
  11. Best of luck to you Ryan, keep in mind your past mistakes and don't repeat them.

    Respect

Why? If a person backstabs others he should not be treated with any respect, nor should those who state racist comments on these forums or troll threads. I cannot see any reason why people who clearly deserve no respect should be treated with any level of it.
  13. Under-rated: FoK, ODN, RoK, Bel Air. Over-rated: NPO, GGA, Valhalla.
  14. You know, you could always add what's left of TPF's reps to the one's being paid off by the NPO. For such a loyal ally I'm sure they'd be willing to accept some additional payments.
  15. The nation which is shaped to be the world's largest phalic word. EDIT: In Antartica. Anyway quick question, there's two unmarked nations between PRC, Java and Dacca. If they're not being used as some sort of no man's land or have not been taken due to some error, would anone mind if I took the larger one of them?
  16. Pegasus has never truly seen the appeal of a full scale wet navy, but it is a milestone none the less and we wish you luck in constructing a full scale fleet.
  17. Give me five minutes. EDIT: Done, anyone up for some ghostbusting?
  18. It figures that Moo wouldn't be able to survive the political fallout of dragging his alliance to the brink of destruction and losing all their allies. Cortath, please actually make some improvements to the NPO. Or finish what Moo started with the Karma War. Either way good luck.
  19. Both. People should stick to their morals and never compromise, but at the same time they should still be given the option to make choices.

    Respect

Act respectfully and you should be treated with respect. That's my view of this anyway. However, such a thing should be based upon a person's entire time on the forums. For example if a group of people spend several years behaving like total arses while in a position of power, and suddenly turn nice when their luck changes then they should still be treated with no respect upon they are proven to be sincere. EDIT: typo
  21. [halfserious]Good god, you can't even let one comment about that war's outcome go unanswered even in a thread like this.[/halfserious] Anyway, a very strange if fantastic vid.
  22. Here's to two years, and the many which will follow it.
  23. I would suggest speaking to the members of your own alliance for this rather than seeking outside help in this manner. But if you are looking to recruit new members then I would suggest you look into the advantages and unique strengths of your alliance and creating a promotional message about it to send to non-aligned nations. At least that is what most alliances do anyway.
