1. As Altheus said, OsRavan acted with the best of intentions to save an ally
 2. Very well said. Our insistence at looking at alliances through the lens of history clouds judgement
 3. Our treaty was a non-chaining MDoAP. It's an ODP if one of us gets hit because we were honoring other treaties. Such a situation will likely happen since FEAR's and UPN's other treaties are not close. That's what Peggy Sue meant.
 4. The history of both alliances diverged over time, I don't see why this cancellation is so shocking or bad. If UPN and FEAR happen to be on the opposite sides of a future conflict, there won't be an entangling treaty between us. On the other hand, if they end up on the same side, the absence of a treaty doesn't matter anyways. Both FEAR and UPN get more room to maneuver. All UPN knew was that we cannot have the same situation where allies landed on two sides of a conflict. Friendship is a different matter and needs no treaty to represent
 5.
No, that was in 2010(and I was no longer the leader of the UPN recruitment team). 2009, UPN was soundly whooping ODN around the court I honestly think that DRAGON, Europa, tLW, Gondor, and a few other alliances have great potential, and will become one of the best in the next few years.
If DRAGON manages to have economics and IA on par with the recruiting abilities of Abdur and Ragwing, then you will definitely achieve success.
 6. If we let you off with a white peace after one round of war for this joke of a reason, you'd probably be calling us cowards. It's a lose-lose situation.
 7.
I didn't have any reason to continue the war nor do I now.
I don't see how you had any more reason to start the war in the first place than you do now.
 8. Having a few days of war after ZI is reached = PZI? In reference to what Bones said, if SWAT ZIed a couple of UPN nations and kept them there for a few days, I wouldn't call it a PZI.
 9. A toss up between the formation of Alchemy and the formation of DRAGON- both seriously stress-inducing periods when the load of your work doubles because of the instability created by vacuums in government.
 10.
Congrats on your 'rebirth' No anti asshat clause, /me is sad Best of Luck to UPN in her future endeavours
Here it is:
Any member nation or nation flying the United Purple Nations as its Alliance Affiliation may be punished under the discretion of the Cabinet, for reasons including but not limited to: asshattery towards fellow nations, both foreign and domestic, espionage and spying, unwarranted attacks against any nation, theft of monetary or technological aid, and treason.
11. I enjoy this further elaboration on the structuralist theory. I was at first puzzled on why you deny the existence of an 'ex-Heg' power sphere as an antithesis to CnG/SF. But as you conclude, it seems more likely that a breakup of SG will occur through peripheral, 'second tier' influences.
 12. UPN's 27 territories carves out the rest of India, homage to great recruiter Abdur Color: #9400D3
 13.
The main problem I see is that you think CnG likes UPN.
The ODN-UPN treaty was signed in early 2009, and has little to do with CnG.
 14. You've clearly illustrated the non-cohesiveness of "ex-Heg". I agree with your conclusions that if CnG/SF become the bi-polars in several months, that they should attract ex-Heg alliances. But with recent treaties showing that CnG/SF are moving closer to create one power sphere, it would take a huge amount of time for another large war to break out. It is smart of all of the "ex-Heg" alliances to splinter and not group together cohesively, otherwise any seeming threat will be quashed swiftly by the CnG/SG side of the web.
 15.
Someone should tell him that, since: Also: You were there. You were not idling in the channel when the conversation began, but were clearly asked to join. I find it highly unlikely that you did not know what the conversation was about. This is one of the worst excuses I have ever seen. "Sure I joined the channel, but I didn't say much so my hands are clean." What a wonderful way to throw an alliance-mate under the bus. You were there. If you weren't paying attention while this farce was playing before your eyes, then you've no one to blame but yourself.
Did I think it was a good idea, or initiated the conversation in the first place? No. Should I have explicitly asked for it to be stopped? Yes.
 16.
This argument would be stronger if the MoD wasn't also involved.
Haf is right. The approach towards GO was not sanctioned from UPN's high gov. I (the MoD) entered the room yes, but from the logs provided, I didn't actually say anything of note and was AFK most of the time. Kev had the best of intentions, but even the best of intentions can go awry.
 17. Very nice. And UPN does enjoy the time on your forums
 18. Looking forward to next week's edition!
 19.
See when was this? Because I've been on IRC a lot lately and haven't seen him on. Hmm. Oh well.
Just before the Legion-UPN treaty was cancelled.
 20. The old quote about how some animals are more equal than others suits well in this situation.
That story was fabricated by Peggy Sue because she just couldn't handle the fact that Hubb wanted to cancel on her. It is only logical to assume that Hubb's resignation was actually a top secret coup led by Watcher and myself. I'm pretty nefarious and I still don't have an idea how I could have possibly staged a coup on Hubb.
Orly?
_13[21:56] <~Hubb[Legion]> Peggy, as Imperator and leader of The Legion, let me reassure you: [21:56] <~Hubb[Legion]> We are not planning on a treaty cancellation with UPN.
Only a short moment later, Legion cancelled. Either Hubb was telling what he thought was the truth, and he was outmaneuvered by his ministers, or Hubb was lying.
 21.
If "disagreeing with Invicta's FA" means "being surprised that Invicta refuses to abandon alliances who defended us against enormous odds," then you'd have a point.
"disagreeing with Invicta's FA" means that Invicta and UPN's treaty links are now, and will be, much more different than they were before.
