An Announcement from Zero Hour

Greetings, Planet Bob.

We openly acknowledge that right now we are not well liked on both sides of this conflict.

That being said, because of recent information released by The Phoenix Federation, we feel it is our obligation to shed some light onto the timeline of events and, of course, to explain in detail how things were meant to work and at what point they stopped working.

First, to clarify some controversial points, we should first explain there were three operations being planned and organized in The Phoenix Federation, all part of VietTPF. The most important operation was the one we gave logs of to Athens (Kilkenny and most mid-level TPF government were not informed of this one). The second one is the one Kilkenny keeps bringing up. It involved selecting a group of roughly 20 nations to leave TPF, surrender and rebuild, and then return to TPF post war. The third operation being organized was never put into practice. It involved a member of TPF leading a group of nations to ghost other alliance affiliations and steal aid, cause havoc, basically to have some fun.

This will be a long post, since we have tried in the past 24 hours to gather all the information we have. This will remain entirely about the issues The Phoenix Federation has brought up.

Planning started on June 12th, 2009 (See #defiance logs). Resignations happened on June 22nd, 2009 (See resignation screen shots of DrunkMonkey and Yohan). ZH was announced on July 5th, 2009. On July 18th, Yohan and DrunkMonkey discussed abandoning the mission and informing mhawk. Logs in #defiance continue up until August 2nd, 2009, when TPF was informed by ZH that we would be leaving the mission.

Some are claiming we are a disgruntled group of people. I would like to remind you all that if in fact we were, we would have released this information as soon as the falling out took place. We did not. We tried removing mhawk's presence from our existence on this Planet by not having any sort of relations with him and so we could move on, build our alliance, grow our nations, and make new friends.

When we realized we had made new friends in Athens, we saw ourselves in a tough situation considering our past. Do not believe for a second that we thought we would walk away easily from all of this. We knew what it meant. We knew the possible consequences. However, the wish to come clean was stronger than any fear of retaliation. Even if the retaliation comes in the form of ZH being destroyed, personal attacks and OOC !@#$%^&*.

That incident is the one part that caused to the complete fall out between Zero Hour and myself. Of note this occurred in mid July. I left for a month in late July and did not return until late August, by which time we had already surrendered [...]

The Menotah thread (posted in July 17th, 2009) was not the cause to the fall out between Zero Hour and TPF. As a matter of fact, as can be seen by the logs of #defiance, DrunkMonkey and Yohan confronted Desperado about the Menotah situation, but continued with the mission. It was only on August 2nd, 2009, that Yohan changed the topic in #defiance informing mhawk of ZH’s abandonment of the mission.

A discussion between DrunkMonkey and Yohan on July 18th resulted in coming up with a plan on how to exit the mission quietly and take ZH out on it's own. Yohan and DrunkMonkey had lost faith in mission and the reasons for putting it into action. They felt there was no point in going forward as neither was planning on returning to TPF after the mission was complete.

It should be noted ZH decided to tell the truth to Athens on the night of the 24th, during a Skype call between DrunkMonkey, Yohan, Zulchep, and Ayrrie. That is when Zulchep was informed of the secret and advised the alliance mates to come forward with it.

- At the time the planning started, every single one of the involved nation rulers were still TPF Government members.

Lastly, we would like to point out the resignation dates of every single one involved in the operation and ask you to compare them with the dates in the full #defiance logs.

As can be seen by the screen shots, the resignations happened at the end of June. The resignations, with the exception of DrunkMonkey's and Yohan's (posted on the morning of the 22nd since the forums were ready and there was the need to go to Karma PoW so communication with Athens could begin), were posted after the thread Mhawk post which released them from duty. These members continued to plan and conspire in the #defiance channel. If you compare the dates with the #defiance logs, you will see the plan was put into practice and became operative.

In conclusion,

From the very beginning, those involved in the execution of this mission, knew it was character suicide. If they were caught, their nations would be destroyed along with ZH and possibly TPF. It was critical that the details be limited to only the most trustworthy of people. No one knew about the plan or had an inkling outside of TPF save for Shurukian. Otherwise ZH's purpose would have come to light long ago, not 6 months after it's creation, and only due to the fact that we outed ourselves.

Some of you doubt what has been said already, some will continue to doubt. That is perfectly fine. As far as we know, no one in CN has ever tried to create an alliance for the purpose of merging it into another in order to propagate a psychological warfare campaign. It was an audacious and stupid plan from the very beginning and the likelihood of success was nil. That aside, we tried it anyways.

Athens deserved to know the truth. They have been nothing but good to us. We decided to inform Ragnarok at the same time to ensure that both groups were aware of what happened. Athens was targeted because of their involvement with the NPO reps discussions and mhawk's belief that Londo was responsible for NPO being unable to receive 'fair terms'. Ragnarok was targeted for their membership in SuperFriends and their reputation as a 'merger alliance'. Instead of attacking Athens and RoK through traditional means, i.e. war, mhawk planned to try and destroy both from within, the goal being their disbandment.

Judging by the OP, not so much.

What still amazes me is that ZH has yet to reap what they're owed for what they've done. I mean, sure TPF sent ya on the mission, but you agreed to it and followed through. How is it you're admonished by Rok and Athens for gaining their trust under false pretenses but TPF, who dropped contact and didn't follow through with the plans, are being attacked.

Doesn't seem quite right. But, this is a new Planet Bob. One where the Karma Chameleon has taken control.
