Malatose
From the Desk of the ReichKanzler A few months ago, the Nordic Confederacy traveled to Brisbane to discuss the topic of peace. This conferenced involved not only us, but ComIntern as well. Our goal was simple: Try to advert the largest, most destructive war in the history of the world between two great super powers. Indeed, at that conference we agreed to the following: QUOTE (Sarah Tintagyl @ May 1 2009, 12:15 PM) -snip- 1. Reinstatement of Slavorussia with the exception of Novak and Eastern Reich land 2. Incorporation of the Uberstein mansion in RoM 3. Germany will rebuild said mansion 4. Mandatory NAP I'd like to point out the following main points: 2. Incorporation of the Uberstein mansion in RoM3. Germany will rebuild said mansion Indeed, we agreed to right the wrongs, in which we did by seizing the mansion of the Baron. Yet, the Republic of Mariehamm still marches aggressively towards war. On a daily basis, our intelligence systems in the form of ELINT, SAR and other devices are reporting continuous rumblings at the border. Obviously, the Baron doesn't appreciate a peaceful mean to solutions and instead would rather march towards war. I will pass over the insulting attacks made by this so-called President against me. That he calls me a gangster is uninteresting. After all, this expression was not coined in Nordland but in Mariehamm, no doubt because such gangsters are lacking here. Apart from this, I cannot be insulted by Uberstein for I consider him mad as the politicians who drove Europa to ruin in the 1940s. I don't need to mention what this man has done for years in the same way against other powers. First he incites war then falsifies the causes, then odiously wraps himself in a cloak of hypocrisy and slowly but surely leads mankind to war, not without calling God to witness the honesty of his attack-in the approved manner of an old Freemason. I think you have all found it a relief that now, at last, one State has been the first to take the step of protest against his historically unique and shame less ill-treatment of truth, and of right-which protest this man has desired and about which he cannot complain. The fact that Greater Nordic Government, which has been negotiating for years with this man [ Baron Uberstein ], has at last become tired of being mocked by him in such an unworthy way, fills us all, the European people, and all other decent people in the world, with deep satisfaction. The Greater Nordic Reich have been finally compelled, in view of this, and in loyalty to the people of Europa, to carry on the struggle against the Republic of Mariehamm. **Operation: Odin's Wrath** Just as soon as the declaration was announced, the German Lander Luftwaffe went into action. Luftwaffe units, in the form of Luftflotte Nord and Luftflotte Skandinavien, began to launch from their assembled areas. The first wave would be small. The basic make up was ten fighter squadrons and six heavy bomber squadrons, consisting of the Nordic Arado Ar 234, Blitz While they were tempted to just dive into the Republic of Mariehamm, they had other goals they needed to accomplish. First, was the total and complete destruction of forward RADAR bases. For this task, they equipped each bomber with atleast eight Valhalla Air Defense Supression Missiles. They would not fly directly over the enemy territory. Instead, they would launch these missiles from a distance. As the bombers edged closer to the border, they unleashed these magnificent missiles into the skies. The missile itself was a marvel in Nordic engineering. The missile utilized a lighter airframe with a more efficient ducted rocket-ramjet system (as demonstrated on modified HARMs), with maneuver control provided by 3D thrust vectoring nozzles, small maneuvering control nozzles mounted aft of the missile, and small fins. In terms of guidance, It also utilizes an advanced passive radar-homing seeker with additional home-on-jam capabilities against ground-based radar jammers, though the seeker also has the added capability to engage communication sites and GPS jammers as well, albeit with a lower success rate. Along with this, a MMW radar and LADAR guidance package is also provided, in case if the targeted radar is shut down. When coupled with the GPS system, this can also permit the precision targeting of specific vehicles alongside the targeted radar, such as control centers and the SAM launchers themselves. Indeed, these missiles would be launched with one simple mission in mind. To completely knock out the RADAR stations in the RoM. The German Lander Luftwaffe would continue strikes of these magnitude on an around the clock basis. To ensure complete air superiority. Ground: On the ground, the German forces prepared themselves. Medium coordinated artillery strikes were launched, from Self Propelled Howitzers. These Howitzers would fire and move, to not allow the enemy to lock on, during their counter-battery operations. Although, these were mostly softening blows, they were designed to destroy any possible land fortifications before the initial advance. Michael McBride
**OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM XARISTAN** You're kidding, right? **PRIVATE, CLASSIFIED, HEAVY LEVEL ENCRYPTION TO UBERSTEIN** We fear that Germany actually aims to kill you this time. We offer your sanctuary and anonymity in Xaristan while you continue your fight against them.
The Confederation
All units, set destinations to Code 532A053HD34242 The radio and data-stream messages were transmitted to the crews of strike-force EAGLE and bomber division LIEBE. The two groups, although stationed at the same airbase in Danzig, had drastically different objectives over the skies of Mariehemm. Strike-Force EAGLE, consisting of mostly fighter craft and fast ground support aircraft held two primary objects. The first of which is to establish Air Supremacy over the skies of the designated Mariehemm contest zone (500 KM in all directions from the border of Mariehemm and all other foreign nations). The Second Primary objective was to confirm or deny intelligence of Radar, Anti-Aircraft, SAM, or Communications sites around the contest zone, and eliminate them from effective range of HARM Anti-Radiational Missiles (assumedly near or beyond the range of their target's air defenses). A secondary objective for Group EAGLE was to escort Division LIEBE to their objectives. The EAGLE crews were instructed to carry two extra-chaff charges and to expect heavy SAM resistance for the early portion of the campaign. Division LIEBE consists of mostly strategic heavy bombers and a compliment of stealth bombers (for operations deeper in the contest zone). These units would focus on disabling enemy airbases, ammunition/fuel dumps, and suspected military command centers. Meanwhile, in Danzig, terrestrial missiles were prepared and launched across the Baltic toward Mariehemm's key ports in the area, attempting to disable any sort of naval action, be it military or civilian, in the Baltic. Malatose
We must condemn this unwarranted invasion. What have the Republic of Mariehamm done to warrant this unjustified act of aggression? Acts of aggression. We must remind you; he first declared war on the Nordic Confederacy; which carried over to the Greater Nordland Reich. Obviously, his only goal is the destruction of Nordland and to mold Europa in his own image. Edited June 13, 2009 by Malatose

We have waited for several years (ICly) to try and explore possible solutions, but the Mariehamm Government was completely unwilling to come to an agreement. The aim of this operation is simple. Making war end. Look at our actions, we didn't even NEED to declare war, Ãœberstein's original DoW from years ago still stands, he has refused repeatedly to do anything about it. Childish, I agree." Sargun II
Acts of aggression. We must remind you; he first declared war on the Nordic Confederacy; which carried over to the Greater Nordland Reich. Obviously, his only goal is the destruction of Nordland to mold Europa in his own image. Must we remind you that you invaded his legal territory, which he responded with an actual formal declaration of war. We should also remind you that one of the terms above was a Non-Aggression Pact that you seem to have broken. "We did in fact reach Ãœberstein on several occations, but he was determined to continue to be at war with us, believing that it is his moral obligation to war us, apparently. We have waited for several years (ICly) to try and explore possible solutions, but the Mariehamm Government was completely unwilling to come to an agreement. The aim of this operation is simple. Making war end." OOC: Quote from above is May 1, that's not even a month and a half. IC: Your excuses are pathetic. "Years?" It's been half a year since that treaty was signed above. Mariehamm has been placing defenses up and you try to spin it as acts of aggression; he declares war in response to aggressive actions from you and does nothing and return, and you attack him. Why? Because he is a figure of resistance in the public against the Nords. "It was broken when Uberstein maintained belligerence and a constant state of declared war between our nations. Infact, Mariehamm never honored the NAP." More excuses and pathetic attempts at making Uberstein to be the aggressor here. "but he was still angry at us!!!" is not a rationale for discarding an NAP and attacking someone without provocation. Malatose
I'd guess it was violated...as usual. I guess the Nords has no sense of decency when it comes to agreements. Actually, the RoM never signed the NAP. When asked to sign the document, I do believe he stated the Following: "A great man once said, 'All that is necessary for evil to succeed is for good men to do nothing.' I pray that the cultural genocide ends, or else the Comintern has just committed the crime of cowardice in the face of evil." -Uberstein
Kaiser Martens
OOC: For me one month is one year, so it's almost two years I guess. Pretend I said "For longer than a year" instead of "years" then, my bad. IC: "Actually, since he didn't listen to us while we were trying to be peaceful, we're hoping that he'll in fact be more receptive to make the war end once that he sees that his actions have unavoidable consequences. Little do I care if he speaks against us, but the existing state of war is a different deal."
Sargun II
OOC: For me three months is a year. Deal with it. IC: You weren't trying to be peaceful. You were forced to sit down and talk to him and pretending to give a damn about peace. What actions has he done in the past half a year to draw your attention to invade? Other than speaking against you, which is what you don't care about.
