  1. While it is nice to be once again shown that our influence on the forums is disproportionate to the very minute number of comments we do actually contribute, I hope you realise that only one member of Vanguard had commented prior to your accusation. And that Vanguard member spoke regarding IRON's forum situation, not regarding TOP or TSO. I am aware that it has become a Paradoxian tradition to blame all public criticism on Vanguard - I mean, just look at big, bad Vanguard being singled out by TOP for ruining GGA's image in their recent public debacle - but at least wait until we have made a few posts concerning TOP. Considering TSO themselves have admitted exactly that, I think it is a fair and accurate implication.
  2. If only Agora was as capable of forbidding Pacifican intervention.
  3. An astute observation. There is most definitely an agenda. Word has it that certain parties are somewhat vexed with Virdian Entente's recent behaviour and policy direction. I imagine it's time to once again begin the smear campaign in preparation for desired future developments.
  4. Any one of the changes to the war system that were curiously introduced in the midst of large-scale wars. Take your pick, really; each had pervasive short-term and long-term ramifications to the game and its politics. Edit: Typo.
  5. There's a distinct lack of amazement on my behalf that you're not familiar with the forum rules.
  6. Yes, they have certainly provided a concrete casus belli by openly declaring the New Sith Order is "accepting membership applications". The horror! I certainly hope Invicta does not accept membership applications, otherwise you may just have a war on your hands!
  7. Right, because GGA have never done that before.
  8. This discussion really is the gift that keeps on giving.
  9. Gaining ownership of GGA channels, I imagine. I mean, Bilrow already controls their forums. In for a penny, in for a pound.
  10. Yes. This thread has tickled me just right. It's amusing to see that the systematic removal of Grand Global Alliance leaders by the intervention of Pacifica - a process that began in mid 2006 - is still occurring. I wonder how it must feel to have another alliance's hand so far up your rear end for such an extended period of time.
  11. Rumour has it he had plans to purchase a Weapons Research Complex. Doubling GGA's total number of WRCs was deemed as dangerous thinking.
  12. I remember when the OWF wasn't plagued by 17 different "I remember..." topics by bros
  13. I'll give the same three answers as I did last time, as I still believe them to be correct: - Second Polar War - First Great War - Failure of the Spectrum Defence Accords, but the success of the Think Of The Children Pact, i.e. The Legion and ODN remaining neutral and the absence of nuclear warfare in the Second Great War.
  14. I always thought it was awesome. It's nice to see it put to use by such a classy group of people (Nero being the exception, of course).
  15. No, the single "LUEicide" and the subsequent nuking were the reasons for the outbreak of the war. What made it the Great War was simply the scale of conflict; it involved all politically-relevant alliances of the time, all the great powers, and escalated to nuclear warfare from the beginning. It wasn't like the world was at war, Yaridovich released his story and then suddenly everyone thought "oh hey, it's a Great War now, it has a LUEicide!" The Second and Third Great Wars were named as such due to the same core parties facing off against one another and the similarly large scale. The Great Wars were the saga of LUE, NAAC & GATO vs NPO & NpO, and following the Third Great War, that story was entirely played out.
  16. Good luck to Elixir! You'll need it with the protector you've acquired
  17. The League had a small numerical nation advantage, as well as a nuclear advantage. However, from memory, Aegis was clearly outnumbered in both strength and nations; LUE had been kept in a perpetually weakened state, NAAC and GATO had not fully reconstructed, and so on. Though, I should note I'm including all those alliances outside of The Initiative bloc that joined their cause in those numbers, not just the signatories of the bloc itself. I could be wrong on Aegis and the Third Great War, though. By that time, I was rather fed up with the game (mostly as a result of the stupidity displayed during the Second Great War) and it was obvious from the beginning that Aegis would be defeated, so I didn't bother mentally recording much of the statistics. Besides, I was far too busy kicking Heft from Aegis IRC headquarters and saying "I told you so." to Legion and ODN.
  18. First Great War: CoaLUEtion, battling Pacifica. Opponents I recall include Sei, Moo & Nosey. Second Great War: The League, battling Pacifica. Opponents I recall include Anthony, Moo & Nosey (under Vengashii's control). War of the Aid Transactions: LUE, defending myself against, and liberating tech from, GOONS. Third Great War: Aegis, battling Pacifica and Total Farkistan, handing the latter its rear-end on a platter. I don't really remember the names of anyone I fought this time around.
  19. Two of our allies becoming friends. It's what I like to see.
  20. Why do I get the feeling you'll be saying the exact same thing next time they do publish screenshots from the upper tiers of Continuum headquarters?
  21. It would be imprudent to waste talent, after all. Plus it may help to stave off QuiteTheRevolution.
