1.
Yes, abandoning NPO with your eternal treaty definitely helped us get to where we are. Bravo. Your alliance is a cesspool of followers.
This is historically incorrect, the treaty was voided by the terms the New Pacific Order accepted at surrender, but thanks for your input. Label everyone who doesn't agree with what we want to do followers! Don't you have some Pacifican backstabbing to do?
2. I see this list was created without any insight about how alliances who "don't do anything," have played a role in shaping the political landscape we see today. Ignorance is bliss.
3. We keep holding you off , despite your attempts to lull us into complacency with watching your aired episodes of HGTTG. (WHICH ARE AWEOMSE!)
4. I really don't see the issue here. Unless Red Dawn is claiming all of Red and their unaligned nations as their own then there should be no justification for this announcement. There is no international treaty that protects nations of a particular team in action at the moment and I'm actually more disappointed with the bait that many of the "raiding," alliances just took from Schatt and his attempt to polarize camps on raiding. I would argue that extending protection to an unaligned nation, effectively branding them as owned by another entity without their consent is more of an infringement "morally," than an actual raid upon them. But well done everyone. This thread at least delivered for a while.
5. Sham, you must've read my post. It sucks. The most active period of my time as a hitchhiker is virtually gone, as well as some of the more interesting threads/happenings of that era. Unfair. Totally unfair.
6. I think they were equally at fault. I viewed the GO thread as payment for the insulting notion that out of the blue that they have no idea what they were doing as an alliance when in fact they do. Could they have been the bigger man? Sure. Would that have been fun? No. Do either really care what we think? Probably not. /thread.
7. /me shrugs. While it was more entertaining I certainly wouldn't complain that others have gotten smarter and have learned how politics work. Nowadays it just takes a bit of initiative (har,) and some good leadership, and relationships with allies rather than mere treaties are essential if you're going to survive. It's challenging in its own way. While I can say I miss the egotistical failings of many leaders over that period of time I nonetheless am equally happy that new players are being given the chance to lead and/or make their mark on the ooc :game/ooc. The old ones are still doing it, whether holding puppet strings or by active involvement. We fortunately got to witness the creation of a Unipolar world, and in the WUT's short lived era were able to see it fall apart. The ooc: game /Ooc has become Multi-Polar since then and thus boring, because of various ideologies that inevitably balance the game one way or the other. There is little co-operation and much of the world either knows who it will stand by or, more importantly, who it will not stand by. Instead of reading into the current events by logs or hearsay, the direction of current affairs are quite readily available months in advance. Incredibly entertaining in its own right, but we must work with what we've got. Was fun times.
8. Hoo of RoK for Cable of MHA Hoopdy of MHA and Kailin of RoK stay though. or switch the opposite and cable and hoo stay, etc.
9.
OMG RIA HASNT LEFT THE BLOC WHAT R WE GONNAAAAAAAAA DOOOOS??? Hint: It's in RIA's name.
Can you blame me? They are capable of anything. ooc : This summer has been an exceptionally dull one. /ooc]
10.
Reading the thread will solve your sadness problem.
Thank you. I thought it was lost when I saw Hoo said he was taking off from the thread. You can all argue about the past again, now.
11.
Except Bastion just did not lose a few alliances. It lost two of the three. It is a dead bloc. Everything it accomplished is relevant in examining the impact it has had on Bob. And what impact did it have? None, aside from being created. VE and RIA simply could have signed an MDP treaty, but instead Bastion was created in order to help the NPO discredit the Vox spy network. That is what Bastion was created to do, and that is all it did in its history. Since that is all the history of the Bastion bloc, I do not see what else there is to discuss.
I think you are misunderstanding me, I'm not arguing with you on whether you points are or are not valid, just the fact that I don't think they belong here. This thread has been derailed since page one because of this and I'm sad that I will now not get to know why RIA was not invited to dissolve Bastion with the other two.
12. Whether or not the bloc is dead or not the current "argument," has nothing to do with RoK or VE leaving (From the OP, RIA remains.). If the title of the thread and original post had to do with Vox Populi, the NPO and old screenshots from the MHA .gov forum, and whether or not certain alliances contain vertabrae or not you might have a point. I don't see that in the OP, that's all.
13. I remember when this thread was about RoK and VE leaving Bastion. Anyway, quite a bit confused about it. Goodluck RIA...kind of odd to leave you hangin there.
14.
Oh god Janova, what happened to you? The TOP war seems to have turned you into a conspiracy nut. The Mushroom Kingdom goads everyone into declaring war on them and then destroys them, oh what horrible creatures we are. Really? Is this something you're just saying or do you literally believe this conspiracy theory?
Don't be coy, the OWF sees right through your intentions.
15. Best to both former signees, never thought you'd part.
16. Uh ... No one one has the right to denigrate anyone in or anything about our alliance because of when they joined. Every member of the Mostly Harmless Alliance is an integral part, even the nutty ones. The jibing and biased opinions are amusing to a point, but never insinuate the integrity of my alliance has somehow changed. Especially if you're not a member. About Argent? It's been nearly two and a half years. OOC: In this game's framework that is nearly an eternity. I respect and have befriended a great deal if not all of those who left for Argent and was VERY much around for their departure, any insinuation that somehow our alliance "changed," in some dramatic way since then is false. I was around to enjoy the company of Denzin, I studied under John Rocker, I worked against and with WCR, I've even run against Shamshir in a Triumvirate race, and we remain close in the same alliance to this day. I've worked with several of the Gramlins as well, and just because we did our own thing at times does not mean I hold the accords any less lightly than any signatory, regardless of whether they're around or not, and I bet any one of those of MHA would say the same. As an alliance, we voted to approve the Accords, not as individuals. "Old blood," or "New blood," it doesn't matter. I and every other Hitchhiker who's posted here is of the truest blood there is, and that is a member of the Mostly Harmless Alliance. Because a member was not around three to four years ago gives no one the right to tell them they are any less of a member. We come and go, and we're doing just fine on our own.
17.
What on earth are you trying to say, and how does it relate to what you quoted?
I am trying to say that nothing is going to satisfy you. We could do awesome bike tricks and cartwheels but we'd be criticized for poor form.
18.
Just like Gremlins is "capable" of reading their Codex.
Everything we do is wrong I must leave before my intentions and choice of arrangements of letter's is criticized because I'm MHA. Edited: Tact.
19.
The Härmlin Accords say otherwise. Like a few other treaties, the Härmlin treaty is not a normal treaty.
Uh... I think we're capable of interpreting our own treaty.
20.
I therefore think that arguing about the relative merits of Härmlins will shortly be irrelevant. And while I have seen nothing but civility and honor from the MHAers I have spoken with, I am surprised at what appears to be a very nonchalant treatment of the spirit of this treaty on their part. Not that I can fault them, given the situation, but I am still amazed that they would let the alliance with whom they signed such a tightly-binding treaty fall into such a predicament. Perhaps someone can point me to where this was all explained. I eagerly await a reply.
Contrary to the above belief, we're both sovereign alliances. We don't make their decisions for them, nor them us. To say that any treatied member is somehow at fault because their partner in any treaty did something...say...really stupid...should be a reflection on the ability of other said treaty partner and whatever "letting them fall into x predicament," means just doesn't make any sense. It's like saying if NATO decided to declare war on anyone and despite telling the NPO it was going to, and asking the NPO not to get involved on its behest because they even know how dumb a decision it is, that somehow that is the NPO's fault. There is no correlation here. Edit: Grammar and stuff
21. Lol...all I have to say is: I told you all so. Good luck Stonewall. I do think you mave exaggerated your impmact on the MHA quite a bit. While the tattler was cute, it didn't contain much the planet didn't already know...and the alliance's leadership at the time was more influential than any sort of arguments we could have in the alliance discussion thread. Hit me up when you reroll OOC: Get some sun my man, beats this computer thang
