BRING IT!!111 Oh wai... PS: I still like the idea of all the micro alliances banding together to form one massive huge mirco alliance. Their DoE would be the DoE that finally breaks the camel's back and all the 'proper' alliances would be forced to DoW on it. After a brief skirmish that saw more "BRING IT" in-game PMs sent than nukes, the Proper Bloc's terms to Big Huge Micro Bloc would be "post a disbandment notice for every mirco alliance that's ever folded to cleanse the OWF of your ebil and to give Penguin more accurate stats". However like other world wars before it, the Proper v Big Huge Micro War would spark a new rash of micro alliances forming. The DoEs would doom CN forever under the sheer weight of paperwork and un-verifiable assumptions of newly formed alliance mortality rates... EDIT: I forgot to mention that the Big Huge Micro Bloc would be a German themed alliance...on the Red Sphere, with a flag that is a totally photoshopped shiny non-flagy flash animation with lots of lens flare.

In all seriousness, it's probably just that we see the DoE's and then rarely see any disbandment notices (for obvious reasons). It's not a major problem for me, but I do feel sometimes it's a bit of a shame when new players join up in a friend's mirco alliance, and then when that folds they don't stick with CN at all. However we have to remember that new alliances do tend to bring in new players to CN (and some do stay), so that's gotta be a good thing. MOAR NAYSHUNZ PLX

What happens if you have a Base and a Mine, and your Base expires (or is decommissioned) before your Mine? Does the Mine remain active?

The way I read it, you've got to wait until April 2010 to actually reach 1 year. Either that or add up all the months and deduct the time you were disbanded and annouce that "omg we've sort-of mostly been around off and on for kinda roughly 12 months!!! woot".

I really don't think people are going to stop posting their opinions or perceptions of events in favour of straight up facts. The whole perception vs reality thing is basically the essence of politics, and is what leads to good/bad PR, drama and conflict.

This whole thread fails because it doesn't address the biggest problem on the OWF - 'lulz' speak in Alliance Announcements. Posters should at least try to make the OP Announcement sound like a political leader. If you can't type out a short statement that roughly sounds like what you hear on the news, then get someone else in the alliance to do it for you, or maybe wait a few more birthdays before writing that DoE... PS: Oh and then there's the "OMFG THIS TREATY LUB MAKES ME **** IN MY ****ING PANTIES!!!111" replies... EDIT: Unless you're in the RIA, please be coherent.
