1. Any bully can start a war (as we have seen), it takes a real man to win one. We'll see who receives that medal.
 2.
Its in the definition you quoted, its not a specified limit, we've given it a boundary that it will end at but its not specified because the nation can stay on the AA indefinitely it means our protection is indefinite
A boundary isn't a specified limit? Also, you gave a boundary that I most certainly respect; I just mentioned how I have to ask others about indefinite protections to show the misuse of indefinite is epidemic. Here, the ignorance is perfectly displayed in the silly "Our protection is undefined except where it is" Anyway, I guess I should apologize for choosing this as the place of my soapbox, and congratulate your alliances and wish you luck.
 3.
Where did I say forever? http://dictionary.re...owse/indefinite <-- that is the definition I'm going by...

not definite; without fixed or specified limit; unlimited: an indefinite number.
So your protection isn't defined except for where it is (ie ends when everyone moves) I know it seems like I'm being pedantic, but in treaties this is definitely the one place where you are supposed to be. I'm fairly sick of running around asking alliances with "indefinite protections" if those are still in effect.
 4. Congrats, you only further proved you don't know what indefinitely means. Hint: it doesn't mean "forever" Edit: Again, this isn't solely a fault with your alliance, it seems to be very widespread
 5. I'm starting to suspect no one around here knows what indefinite means.
 6. Anti-moralist is such a dumb term. I prefer social dominance oriented.
 7.
unless Mongols seek peace.
I doubt GOONS peacing with MONGOLS would mean they'd want to seek a peace with Kaskus.
 8.
Oh, THIS GUY again. query #cybernations
Unlike the op, this was funny.
 9.
I doubt you're taking yourself seriously.
Here, I made your post more concise. Brevity is a virtue. Also, I suspect you are correct.
 10.
Perhaps you should tell your own members that too, http://forums.cybern...dpost&p=2931225 http://forums.cybern...dpost&p=2931241 http://forums.cybern...dpost&p=2931248 http://forums.cybern...dpost&p=2931258 -omfg
Perhaps you would recognize I was directly quoting Lord Caparo, who said that in response to someone calling him out for blustering while hiding in peace mode. In this very thread, no less
 11.
What this man said!
Its called Strategy or Going inactive, remember that next time you post.
 12. Raids are, by your constitution, necessarily individual acts and therefore not under the jurisdiction of your alliance. Raids can be, by GOONS constitution, an alliance act. If a nation undertakes the proper alliance-standard procedures, then they receive the backing of the alliance. Hence, Beefspari's response. This does not preclude an individual member messing up and raiding without going through the proper alliance channels we have laid out. It is those individuals we say "tough luck" to, since they are, in effect, roguing. Hence VN's statement. In short, those who are GOONS members and act according to how GOONS members are expected to act, surprisingly, receive the benefits and protection of the GOONS alliance, while those who do not, don't.
 13. So not only do you admit they try to pay you reasonable reparations and you refused, not only did they attempt to meet your unreasonable OOC demands and were rejected, but you threw in some racism on top of it all? And all over some harmless tech deals? This is the GOONs behavior we've come to expect, no amount of your revisionism can repair it.
 14.
If this was spelled correctly (I realize the joke/reference/whatever) it would actually be rather nice.
That was without a doubt the worst one I made, and the fact that the owf finds it acceptable is confirmation. It's like giving a middle finger to your dad behind his back. Only instead of your dad it's cn and instead of a middle finger its an abstract anus. Anyway, vanilla missed this one (the superior one imo):
 15. I felt sorry that we screwed you guys out of a sanction like this, so I went and made you a pip
 16.
I'm not granting him any special protection. I'm saying if a person was a decent human being they wouldn't attack someone because of a difference in any aspect be it beliefs, characteristics, background or whatever. As for the bolded part, yeah, why try to change it? Why ask people to be decent and not bigoted? Good point.
Please don't attack my characteristic of being bigoted or the beliefs that cause it. It would be more decent of you not to help me grow into a better person. Thanks in advance.
 17. Oh hey, so not only did you lie about your WC in an attempt to get us to feed you more money, you are going to skip out on your current tech deals (like you did as George Gordy to FEAR)
 18.
Peculiar. Care to elaborate?
What's peculiar is that you equate malleable taste in entertainment, and potential derision from people who do not share the same tastes, with the systematic oppression of peoples based on the social construct into which they were born. No one has ever been denied life, liberty, equality, or even happiness due to their fondness for this television show, while people at this moment suffer from this and more merely because of the color of their skin, including in societies that have claimed to banish this boogieman. By saying they are one and the same you are inherently devaluing the hardships of the latter and aid in the denial of its existence. You are literally saying that a person thinking your leisure activity is childish is similar to the vast inherited economic and social structures that exist that keep many people in poverty. This idea, which you've constructed to rationalize your toys while obviously not considering its ramifications, disgusts me. Much, much more than any I feel for your enjoyment of a particular television show.
 19.
Furthermore, I observe that discriminating against members of UE for being united under a common interest is analogous to discriminating against a race, and is no better than such. What does it matter what we like, or what we believe, as to what does it matter what color our skin is or what God we believe in. This discrimination and devaluation is a Logical Crime, being based on nothing but Ad Hominem. We are inferior and shall be defeated because we enjoy ponies? If I can conclude something, it is that nobody here thinks critically.
The fact that you would devalue the horror inherent in racism so much is appalling, and reason enough to abhor your beliefs.
 20.
Where on earth did you get that from? I send 99% of our recruitment PM's out and neither of those lines have ever been used. We claimed to offer protection from Tech Raiding that they wouldn't get if they stayed a none and we seperatly promoted ourselves as specialising in helping mentor new nations into nuclear states. Its our recruitment neice and it works well, o/ NUKES etc.
That was actually two separate points, I didn't mean for you to think I was saying your alliance, in it's recruitment messages, conveyed that you could "take us." However, that was a feeling stated by many of your members. The initial point, the one you are really responding to, is when your alliance sent raided nations a message saying that you will give them nukes and protect them from raiders, while they are currently being raided. I think you can understand how they made the connection that you were telling them they would get to use those nukes on their former raiders (a sentiment conveyed to us several times). While you are certainly not outright stating the thought, the implication is there, and your recruits recognized and threatened us with it.
If nothing else perhaps a few rounds in the ring together may actually help.
I'm glad you can understand GOONS position then. And for all our blustering, this is (and has been conveyed by Sardonic) always been our position for this war.
 21.
we screen our applicants before they get recruited and before we mask them as members to ensure they have no pre-existing wars present. A nation with pre-existing wars with a recognised alliance is simply not allowed membership in the NPL and we have explained this to your diplomats since then in much detail.
How is this different from your original constitution, which stated you would not accept nations at war? When you accepted a nation GOONS was raiding, and we approached you then, you personally stated that you didn't care about a GOONS raid. What assurances do we have that this time is different? Now, reps were paid for the acts of you actively aiding nations with whom we were at war (as in, sending money/troops labeled "military aid"), but that was merely a few acts of many. Not only did you have that flippant attitude towards GOONS I mentioned, your alliance threatened individual members if they did not peace out, built your alliance out of former raids who were recruited with the promise of obtaining nukes to get back at us, and made claims of being able to take us. You might be able to understand why a little hostility exists between our memberships (even if quite a few, including myself, find ourselves respecting you personally). Heck, our diplomat even approached you with a deal that would have certainly improved our relations before this all went down, but you ignored it.
 22. Thank admin for backup, indeed. I'm glad you guys were able to get out, it looked like quite a bit of you were hurting.
 23.
http://www.cybernati...ation_ID=438043 Alliance Seniority: 320 days I think at some point, you actually have to join the Alliance to get protected. Didn't GOONS do some ghostbusting for TGE a little while ago?
That list was given to us by TGE, though. That said, this guy has been sitting on that alliance longer than the current iteration has existed, plus there isn't any evidence the current German Empire has any connection to that aa.
 24.
Well, we did institute a Company-level confirmation on targets about a year ago. That's kinda new.
We also don't allow our members to offer peace to raid targets in exchange for money or tech. In fact, it's so ingrained that a lot of people thought it was against game rules, not merely against our policies.
 25.
*cough* *cough* MOST of you do. And that is said sincerely and with respect. However...when one tempts the chaos that exists in the universe, sometimes it answers. ROMA is protected by NEAT and the Sandwich Confederation, and is currently 29 nations strong.
I just checked this, and the guy never made a request for confirmation like he's required to proceed in a raid. And chances are he's currently peaced out because the mistake was caught and diplomacy prevailed (typically, GOONS do not follow up a ground assault with a peace offer). Therefore, I can only conclude that this is in fact an example of our housekeeping, in stark contrast to what happened between NG and UPN.
