  1. A bit sad that some take their policies so far as to try completely driving specific people from the game for one or two mistakes they've made out of years of playing. I see people suggest he just reroll anyways, but people trying it and eventually getting revealed is what caused Hyperion, GATO, GPA, and various other alliances to get attacked, or at least the CB used for the war. The social aspect of this game is a very large one, so I would imagine it being difficult to cut off connections and never let anyone know you're the same person.
  2. Then what is it that motivates you to write these essays? Deep down what motivates you is the desire to watch the world burn, you want someone to prove you wrong.
  3. It depends what they are trying to win as some things are difficult to measure, such as public support, recognition, and how other alliances perceive them. The old saying "Lose a Battle, but Win the War" comes to mind. Even if an alliance would lose the battle under some circumstances not fighting would damage their chances of ever winning more. Many things can be rebuilt, some harder than others. Public image is probably the most important factor in becoming the new Order, so it wouldn't always be wrong to enter the war depending on the impact it would have on how others see them. Even the NPO lost one war, but they rebuilt from it and then climbed to the top.
  4. It will happen when someone makes it happen, and those who will make it happen won't reveal when.
  5. Congrats, great to see you two continue to have good relations. FACE has a very reliable protector, so I'm sure they will do well.
  6. So basically what your essay boils down to is your doing it wrong if your an enemy of the Order, because if you become strong enough to defeat the Order than they have already lost their status and you become the new Order. The Order is whatever alliance has the most power and influence, so then by very definition if you oppose the Order you're fighting someone that has you outmaneuvered already. So they are wrong in the sense that they are entering a battle they can't win by fighting an opponent that is stronger than them when you include allies and planning. Your wording is deceptive as one would assume by the Order you mean NPO, but in your analysis that term also applies to whoever manages to become the new Order by setting the playing field in their favor before the war begins. Also your usage of the term wrong implies that to lose means you are wrong, which isn't always true, unless of course you refer to losing as being wrong. Somebody must accept wrong to mean the same thing as entering a losing battle and the Order to mean the most powerful alliance for your analysis to hold true. Then translating its quite obvious, To be an enemy of the most powerful alliance is to enter a losing battle.
  7. Congratulations, its good to see two alliances I respect sign a treaty like this.
  8. First one I've read in months, guess I'm just not reading the forums to much lately. B)
  9. Damn, you got me all excited for a second there. Nice announcement though, I've been drinking and smoking all day so you had me going until I got through most of the treaties you were activating and still hadn't mentioned who. Good luck with your war against real life, but the only way I can fight it is getting so high that it no longer exists, although it always seems to come back again eventually, so I drink and smoke some more.
  10. I found the OP amusing, although its not nice tech raiding! )):
  11. If you could only see one of an alliance's stats, which do you think would be most useful in estimating their fighting ability?
  12. Nicely done, even if tension doesn't take enough into consideration to be an accurate measure, it is an interesting stat to get some perspective on the strain of so many alliances having treaties all over the place, with high tension treaties being more likely to force an alliance to choose between allies if a conflict were to arise pulling allies in various directions.
  13. Good to see old grudges gone, nicely written OP.
  14. Congrats, a lot of capable people in there.
  15. Congrats, good to see you guys doing well.
  16. Congrats to GPA and I'm glad to see these alliances release GPA from the last of their terms.
  17. I think defensive slots should remain 3, but let people do more offensive wars. 6 offensive slots seems like a pretty good number, although I don't see a need for a limit at all really.
  18. ^This. If you're at war with someone who doesn't have nukes, and you do have them, well that just sucks for them. :jihad:
  19. An already sanctioned alliance can't upload their new flag if they change their official flag when who is being sanctioned is recalculated using your speculation. I'm very curious as to the rules of uploading flags regarding sanctioned alliances. Also I didn't necessarily mean "newly" sanctioned alliance, but all alliances who qualify for a sanction when its time to decide who has a sanction, whether they are being newly sanctioned or just maintaining their sanction. Although if the rule is an alliance that is only maintaining their sanction can't upload a new flag if they want, then I am curious if an alliance who has lost their sanction, but is being re-sanctioned can upload a different flag.
  20. When time for sanctions roll around can alliances only submit their flag, or can they submit any flag? If an alliance wanted to, such as if they already have their flag in the game, could they submit a flag for another alliance?
