1. Who are the true heirs to Scandinavia? The question resonated throughout the minds of many Scandinavians as the war dragged on for Scandinavian independence. Throughout the lands there seemed to be a growing force of reactionary bodies fancying themselves the "Nordheim Restoration Movement" which was comprised largely of nationalists seeking a return to an old Germanic order. This group had already hijacked numerous military installations and had gone as far as to take control over the various capitals of the former nations of Sweden, Denmark, and Norway. But was this truly the dominant identity of Scandinavians... an identity sharing more resemblance to cousins of Bavaria, Brandenburg. For many this was not the case in the slightest... for many Scandinavians they desired no cultural restoration with Germanic states, but rather the restoration of a truly Scandinavian one. Scandinavism it was called... an idea that once held quite some resonance with the peoples of the North. The idea of a united nation formed of the three historical Kingdoms of the North. The idea of an independent Northern State with it's own cultural identity, custom, and language. Not the borrowing of it's cousins ideals. Scandinavia had seen enough of Germanic ideals reigning supreme over it's people... and thus a counter-movement formed to combat the "Nordheim Restoration". The Enhetsfront movement was born in direct opposition of it's former Germanic rulers in Berlin and stood in stark contrast to the Nordheim movement that had begun in parts of the country. Quickly elements of the Enhetsfront took control of the vital port city of Bergen off the coast of Norway. Bergen represented the second largest city in Norway and arguably one of the most important cities in Europe due to it's massive port facilities... these facilities would prove highly invaluable to the movement. Military armories and installations around Bergen would be taken by the movement which would face very little resistance initially, but it was only a matter of time before it came into contact with the German and Nordheim armies. Soon elements of the former Norwegian military would pledge allegiance to the "United Front". Soon the Red Flag of the Enhetsfront would dot cities and towns throughout Norway. The pieces were set and the dice would be rolled, would Scandinavia rise united or fall divided? Oslo, the former Capital of Norway would be the first test as it was under the direct control of the Nordheim Restoration. (OOC: Disputing Scandinavia)
2. This announcement only serves as a painful reminder of how long I've played in this world of ours... Congrats on your reformation I suppose.
3. OOC: I cringed at the mention of Adam Sandler addressing the world over events in my nation. I'm almost tempted to reroll just to orchestrate his assassination... Jack and Jill was such a horrible movie man.
4. Congrats on the treaty, it is without a doubt a political milestone for the both of you.
5.
I want peace and I came to this thread to hail the end of a feud I thought utterly pointless, for both sides. What I found was our allies questioning the reparations, as is their right, and your people using the same angry rhetoric they have used for the past two years. If my response was hostile, and if I sniped, it is because I was frustrated and I apologize if my words ruffled your feathers or came across as an unwillingness to move on. Regardless, hail peace. o/
I agree with that sentiment and hope others in NpO share your views so a new era of Polar-TOP relations can blossom. I'm doubtless it will take time, but this is a start to that end. Hail to peace.
6.
Our allies are making their opinions known, as is their right and prerogative. Also who is You Are Stalk and why is it their duty to see the hatchet buried?
(OOC: I'm typing from my mobile, autocorrect screwed it up. Replace You're with your and stalk with sort.) It is up to you to decide if the hatchet is buried or not because we have already stated we have no desire to revisit the issue. On our end the feud is over with, what remains to be seen is if your side will use this goodwill to finally let bygones be bygones or if you want to continue the hostility and sniping.
7.
Good to see GOONS has TOP's interests at heart then? You are collectively attempting to perpetuate a negative mindset and attitude indicative of a feud mentality after expressly stating a desire to bury the hatchet.
This assertion is incorrect, your allies are the ones attempting to spin this into some injustice while simultaneously making snide remarks. We have exacted our retribution and have had numerous government members and regular members express a desire to see this feud end. Don't mistake that to mean our members suddenly love you because they don't, but they are certainly moving past old grudges. Now its up to your sort to see the hatchet buried or not. As most posts from your sphere of influence indicate its fairly evident you're the ones intent on seeing this feud extended. But please, keep trying to sping this into a polar pity party.
8. Many thanks to our coalition partners who helped do some heavy lifting in this fight. Hail to the Victors.
9. Gold Prices Skyrocket Amid a large surge in gold prices after an announcement by the treasury that would see the countries stock of gold reserves increased to fight off inflation. New Spain being one of the few remaining countries in the world to back a significant portion of it's monetary units through straight bullion reserves. To this end it has sent the demand for gold bullion skyrocketing with various investors seeking to buy themselves principle and stock in gold markets. Some are saying this demand is artificial in it's entirety and are suggesting to their investors to hold off on buying into the craze or selling their gold holdings until the treasury officially takes it's action; which is hinted to occur later on this week.
10.
[snip] I'm not the King, I'm just the kingmaker and I'm with anyone who is with me. I am a snake in the grass, but I only bite if you step on me.
You were a Kingmaker when Umbrella was yours to lead, now your little more then hoarder of the vaunted Spartan meat wall. Your seemingly burning all your bridges in a desperate bid for attention. For your sake I'm going to have to ask you to calm down a bit and pick your battles a bit more sparingly. Otherwise you'll talk yourself into further irrelevance and become forever etched in the annals of CN history as Roquentin the Beggar-Prince. Begging for an army to take out MK is really quite sad to watch.
11. Excellent results, with an equally strong crop to coincide with it.
12. Rumor has it that there is an illegitimate son of the legendary King of RoK hidden away somewhere on Planet Bob. He is said to have the same face and body of his father and works as a blacksmiths assistant. He is unaware of his royal blood however and likely in grave danger from the slurpers men who will undoubtedly attempt to seize him... but rest assured, he is in fact the rightful heir to the pleather throne of RoK.
13. At this point it's utterly ridiculous to argue in favor of any alliance holding a treaty with RoK. It is a toxic asset at best and an assured liability at worst.
14. Enrique would lean closer to Frank as he began to speak above the low hum of the engine motor. "Todo va bien aquí, confío en que lo mismo es cierto para Irlanda? En cuanto a las discusiones, creo que debemos empezar por hacer algunos simples declaraciones de intenciones. Es decir, donde vemos a nuestras naciones se dirigieron hacia el futuro. Así que me pregunto, ¿qué es Irlanda se centró en ver a lograr en el futuro como miembro de la Unión?"
15. Enrique was pleasantly surprised to hear his Irish guest speak in his native tongue; all of the prior diplomatic guests would speak English so this was a welcome change. Enrique would shake Frank's hand and reply. "El honor es todo mío, bienvenido a la Nueva España. Ahora, por favor, que me siga." Enrique would lead Frank to his limousine convoy to sit beside him as they begin the brief drive to the Palace. "Confío en que el vuelo no era demasiado agotador para usted?"
16. After the response from the Irish foreign affairs secretary preparations where made to hold the Irish guests in the Palace and a brief tour of the capital city. The customary red-carpets would be unrolled and ceremonial guards on hand to greet the arrival of their esteemed guest Mr. Frank Aiken. **Private Response**
Splendid! I will make the arrangements for your arrival at once. I look forward to meeting you in person. With Regards, King Enrique Bourbon I
17. "New Spain extends it's full diplomatic recognition and affirms it's independence from the Union. Welcome to the world stage."
18. **Private Message to Voodoo Nova**
Greetings, We have always had a certain interest in Ireland given our neighbors to the North in California like to call themselves the spiritual successors to Tahoe and hold a decent amount of Irish descended citizens. Naturally, it behooves us to come closer to Ireland proper. I would be very interested in housing you within New Spain in order to discuss the facilitation of relations between our nations. Given that you may soon be joining the Union, it would be very much in our interests to learn more about one another as we head into the future. How does this sound? Sincerely, King Enrique Bourbon I of New Spain
19. The Spanish councilors would be seen discussing things with one another briefly before giving their votes. In regards to Croatia & the Lunar Republic being admitted to Chapter 4: Both vote yes. In regards to Kuklos and the Mississippi River: Both vote yes. In regards to admission of Ireland: Both vote yes.

21. "Our opinions have not changed in the slightest as I have no problem with colonial acts in themself nor am I really concerned over the ownership of Rugen should it lay in Germanic, Canadian, Chinese, or African hands...it makes no difference to me. However I have cause for concern with needless conflicts that have the potential to spill over to disrupt our own affairs in the Americas. Hence why I will echo my calls for Canada to cede this land over to Germany. As it is clear that the refusal of it will result in nothing less then war that will spill over to both Europe & America proper. The ball is firmly in Canada's court to progress it to violence or substitute it for peace by choosing to honor the demands or refuse them...it's simple enough from my eyes." -King Enrique Bourbon I
22. "We understand the sentiment the Germans are operating under given this very sentiment has swept through America in recent months. To that end we ask Canada to cede this territory over to Germany so as to avoid needless bloodshed. Furthermore, we find it hypocritical for the vast majority of American states to defame European colonies or nation on one end and then coalesce in neutrality to a Canadian colony in Europe on the other hand. We're awaiting these same bold American powers who spoke so vehemently against Colonialism not even months ago to stick to your guns; lest you be viewed as hypocrites in the eyes of the world." - King Enrique Bourbon I
23.
[Private Reply] "Thank you. We will send the men within the week. As for supplying them, we did not expect you to do that for us. In addition, if you would like to expand the size of the available facilities, we would gladly contribute some money or materials for the construction. That said, our men should be able to set up a small base near the northern entrance of the canal, with your permission."
**Private Response** "We feel a joint-effort in expanding the size of current facilities would serve both our nations well in regards to the Canal. Additionally, we permit your forces to construct this base on the northern entrance. We will inquire with your government at a later date concerning the expansion plans for Canal facilities."
24. "We wish to assure all nations expressing concern over the neutrality of the canal with the following statement. The Canal will remain open to any and all nations of the world and will not be subject to being closed by New Spain. It will however be expressly protected by New Spain so as to insure the continued flow of commerce through the canal. Our move is purely out of the interest of our own and all the nations of which traverse this vital waterway." - King Enrique Bourbon I
"As long as the canal stays open and international, without anyone being blocked from moving through it, we will only lodge a formal protest regarding this move. However, we would like to send a small contingent of 1,500 men with some vehicular support to help ensure neutrality of the Canal."
**Private Response** "This contingent of men and equipment is agreeable to us. Though I must stress that the supply and logistical concerns of these troops will be the concern and responsibility of the Lunar Republic alone. As we cannot maintain our own garrison's alongside yours without significant strain on our own supply lines. As it stands the facilities on the canal are nearly nonexistent in terms of housing large quantities of men and equipment and cannot support a garrison of men much larger then several thousand troops."
25. Emilo would nod. "My view is rather simple from an objective standpoint. We don't view the world through regional based dynamics...which is to say we don't draw a line in the sand based on geography when things happen. So our opinion on foreign incursions in American lands is quite simply the same as an incursion on any land worldwide. If it threatens us our our allies then we have cause to object to it. If it isn't of our concerns then we could care less about the action itself." Emilo would continue and remark. "New Spain has bases around the world and can deploy in force in any theatre of combat should we be called to it. Hence why we place such a focus on the globalism of the world and abhor the use of regional based thought. It's simply an archaic way of viewing events from our perspective" He would pause before ending his comments. "Of course, we accept that others view the world in different terms."
