Well here's the thing.
It's one thing about coming in late
It's another thing entirely when it seems like you're not coming in at all, which it seems like at this time. What's taking you guys so long? It's laughable.
-
I'm going for the Warriors just cause they're the underdogs in this match, and the team I support didn't make the finals
-
That's basically what the Green party is like all over the world. The one here in Australia is probably just as bad, but they do have really smart politicians that know how to sway public opinion, so they got quite a few seats in the senate.
I see the Australian left getting creamed in the next election just as bad as the Liberals in this Canadian election.
-
They deserved the win. Most consistent team of the tournament.

I'm the oddest person in CN, and you know it <3
Congrats on this milestone for your nation
-
Pakistan were playing terrible, but still congrats to India.
-
Looks like I need to step up my game.
Big time. That set the bar pretty high/low depending on how you look at it.
Also, shame on you RV for switching sides etc etc.

Glad to see someone from GOONS speaking out about this, especially as that part of the treaty web is notorious for injecting such things into a discussion to kill the debate. Though we are not innocent of it either.
-
Non-chaining treaties have a specific and sensible purpose. While you probably want to fight for your friends, it's much less certain that you want to fight for their friends as well. Considering we're currently in a global war with two separate fronts opened up by direct attack, and the last war also had two separate direct attacks, your justification is also incorrect. And finally, back in the old days (pre GW3), MDP treaties were conventionally non-chaining, so it's hardly something that's come out of the complex web we have now.
If you're not willing to fight for your friends (and their friends), sign an ODP.
-
This ^
Plus quite frankly, there arent alot of nations whove hugged their infra hard enough to can fight the nations umbrella has in their top end. so it quite frankly makes better sense to take your beatings in week 1, then come out swinging at smaller and less prepared nations
Give me 2 years and I'll be able to face them. Maybe. If there are no wars in between that period.
Also, never turtled here. Never seen the point in it.
-
Most real world treaties have a clause where it outlines scenarios where one will come to the defense of another. This is CN though. The CN equivalent will be abandoning MDP+ treaties for most part (except for alliances you're REALLY close with), and using ODPs as the standard treaty.
-
There are many different replies here, most of them critical of my stance of being against non-chaining treaties.
My general reply to that will be: Sign an ODP with that alliance if you're not willing to sign a chaining MDP.
-
Yes, that's why you should control your own war through the use of ODPs and only use MDPs with allies that you know you will die for, regardless of what they did to get into war.
More value needs to be placed on both ODPs and MDPs
-
CSN is afaik not on any "side" in the NPO-Doomhouse conflict. They have no allies involved in the war up to the third chain.
I never mentioned any "side". I used the term "group", and CSN is certainly within that "group" of alliances.
-
If NoR goes through with this... helping the same group of alliances that, by force, took 20k tech from their ally DT, well... That's just stupid isn't it?
-
You won't be seeing them for a very long time then

Diablo - best RPG series ever made.

All hail the great RV and his epic randomn consistancy. If that makes sense.
Edit: Havvy, calm down. It's roleplaying. Oh, and it's... RV

too much man love for me to handle

I'd say LiquidMercury was a good leader of men. During Karma/TPF/BiPolar people flocked to him.
I'd put Crymson and Feanor up there as well
Also Ramirus, crazy son of a !@#$%*
I'm sure there are plenty of others that were before my time or I just never met
Crymson is right there under AlmightyGrub.
-
You say there's a lack of 'leaders', yet you come up with 18 names, most of which have a lot of influence in this world or left their mark on it. And then you still forgot about a whole lot of other people.
I disagree, we have more then enough 'leaders' around here.
Also, what are your criteria to make it on that list? It seems weird that you mention GK for example, what has he done more then someone like a Roquentin, a Chefjoe or a Moo-cows, to name a few?
It's worth mentioning that everyone on that list is from before the Karma war.
Where's the new generation of leaders?
I certainly don't consider myself as one of them.
Also, people like GK, who has built a successful alliance (complete with haters. Hi MK ) out of scratch while pretty much losing every single war is impressive, no matter how you spin it. If you know of others who did that, they deserve a mention as well.

Top tier, who have made their mark on the game and can continue to do so:
Roq
Xiph
Hoo
Impero
Grub
Moldavi
Archon
Londo
Tulak
Delta
Sardonic
Tyga
Mhawk
Almost top tier, who have the opportunities soon to make their marks on the game or who have come close in the past:
Arexes/kriekfreak
Derwood
Janax
Cortath
Centurius
Jorost
OsRavan
Strictly my opinion, but my list doesn't have 5 members of 3 white team alliances (one of them not being Tyga for some reason)
I agree with your statement there, and certainly think the list could be tiered. It was rather late at night when I made this list so I was just naming people off the top of my head that had leadership qualities - even if their time time in leadership was a while ago. It was a "as long as they're still around" kind of thing.
I think your list is better though, but I just can't be bothered editing now haha
-
Osravan, Impero and MikeTheFirst come to mind. These all have a good leading and working ratio. Unlike Moldavi which only does leading and doesn't do anything for his alliance. A leader also needs to put in some work to better his alliance. I could go on for some time and name a couple of more but these 3 stand out of the crowd.
MikeTheFirst probably qualifies as a leader. Impero... undecided about that guy. He does !@#$ that leaders shouldn't do, but he CAN lead... Meh, I'll throw him in anyway. OsRavan... Cool guy, but no.
-
You are forgetting a lot of leaders worth on being that list. Namely 3. Two on the orange sphere and one on green.
Mind mentioning them? Going through my mental list of both present and past alliance leaders, and can't think of any. I'm pretty sure I've missed a fair few.

This is more specifically a call out on GDA for not entering the war. Makes me sad
