1. It's only alliance policy if all the sigs are there. Otherwise, it's a member's opinion. Which they are entitled to express under our protocols. As for the OOC, I'm not following. Can you clarify, possibly in a PM?
2. Not in all alliances. My MoFA is able to speak whatever he wants within reason. If the announcement doesn't have the signature of the Trinity on it, it's not alliance policy. Not every alliance has the same type of gov, and MoFA isn't be-all, end-all of .gov positions
3. Wow, we are a picky bunch lately. So suddenly, it's not ok for an ally to mediate? Since when? Sometimes it's just easier to have another party help, if the original parties are too frustrated with each other. Or various other reasons. From my quick skim of the thread, STA had every reason to believe they were negotiating in good faith. It also appears TOP's action, while generous and I'd say generally a good idea, was a mistake, which they've claimed. I can believe an honest mistake, it happens to the best of us. I also don't see why there's such argument over paying a token sum for the inconvenience to STA. 300 tech, in the larger scheme of things, is nothing.
4. I was going to go into a bit of a dialog as how none of this sounded like the Keve I met a while back. But it appears everything is returning to some degree of normalcy. So, congratulations on restoring order.
5. Skimmed, not sure if this has been answered. But I've never known Joe to go back on his word or treaty. I've known him to go out of his way to honor both. I think I'm going to agree with Archon and lebubu.
6. Good stuff. I guess I will be subscribing to your newsletter.
7. I do believe Hizzy is a sorcerer my good man. Good luck to Grämlins, not to mention the remainder of ICE.
8. What drew you to your alliance? Being a founder of it probably had something to do with it. Why have you stayed in your alliance, what makes it better (in your mind) than maybe a larger alliance? I know more about our members in a smaller group than I would in a larger group. Easier interactions, less feeling of anyone being just a number, etc. Also, being a founder and all, it would be remiss of me to think badly of it. Why, in your opinion, do people "hop" alliances? Boredom is probably the number one reason, or maybe the idea of 'these idiots are just screwing it all up, I can do it better myself' What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow? I must have missed that day in class
9. I agree with this, and thus, I am quoting it. Well said. Despite that, congratulations MT! /me supports MT wholeheartedly Sounds kinky. This sums it up nicely. Congratulations and well done MK. Love the announcement.
10. I'll send over some food to the newly retired. And then I'll find a fire for Templar, just for you
11. LOL This is a fine treaty. <3 Ronin <3 us <3 !@#$% cats
12. Glowingly beautiful. Congratulations friends.
13. Lazy alliance(s) r lazy! Also, congratulations to two fine upstanding alliances filled with fine upstanding citizens. *runs from the inevitable lightning bolt
14. I am happy and proud to work alongside you Ronin. <3 AirMe Gratz on the awesome Charter. If you need anything, you know where to find us (and MK)
15. [ooc]I'm away from a computer for not even 24 hours, and I miss this gem of a thread until now![/ooc] First off, I'm glad a solution has been found to this trainwreck. Second, whoever it was asked not to compare Pacifica to Polaris because Pacifica doesn't backstab... read up on your history, take it to another thread, this is not the place, time, etc.. Third, while I don't believe recruiting from aligned nations is right for Genesis, I can understand Ivan's posted justifications for making this decision. A good portion of people on this forum have fought for (or against) a new political landscape. With the former 'Hegemony' a shell of it's former self, I suspect a lot of 'boundary testing' will soon take place, at least until the new dominant power has gained a foothold. Also, I would like to point out that any given Casus Belli for war is only one if the wronged alliance wishes it to be. We really don't have to be slaves to societal norms if we disagree with those norms.
16. Congratulations and good luck! I'll miss LEN, but I am confident Silence will be just as awesome.
17. About time! It's a pleasure to work with you all on blue sphere unity. Also, Hizzy said it best in regards to other potential signatories, we certainly hope to see many more sign on.
18. It's wonderful to see this come to fruition. <3 AirMe o/ Ronin
19. If it hadn't been for the tl;dr, I don't think I would have noticed any clause about Senate sharing. Good luck to both parties, and congrats. Also, I echo the sentiments of Hizzy in regards to the next jackass. Nothing personal, just never cared for treaties that aren't clear in their intent and wording.
20. Also, BLEU's demise was well after WotC, not immediately afterwards or during. Just so I don't get picked on for wording my earlier response poorly
21. BLEU v NADC - explained by the honorable Assington earlier in the thread. BLEU v FIST - I suppose you could call this an excess of Sponge's. Though I believe many leadership of that time would have reacted in much the same way under similar circumstances. BLEU v GUN - This was not initiated by Polaris either, but rather another BLEU signatory. BLEU v NADC II - terms violations from the first one. BLEU v tC - Arguably could be attributed as revenge for stuff Sponge did long ago, though I didn't believe that was the full reason at the time, and I don't believe it now. Dilber said Sponge would have to watch BLEU die, and it happened (paraphrased, I don't feel like hunting the exact quote).
