I wish those of you casting judgment on IAA would take a step back and look at the big picture. Chimaera was faced with a difficult decision, and I think he did a fair job of balancing the needs of his allies in Nemesis with his own conflicting desires. You may have noticed we have white peace all around. I still consider Chimaera and IAA friends, regardless of their actions in this conflict.

It looks like it was a little of both. One of my gov was talking to one of ARES gov about possible scenarios, and it was unknown which way the chips were going to fall. From the logs I'm seeing, it doesn't appear Nemesis was even attacking ARES at the time we made the decision to help them. I can't really be more specific, private queries will remain so.

It's nothing personal, just returning a favor for a great ally who did the same for us in Karma. I look forward to a good fight.

Thank you for all the well wishes. I would also like to state a couple things for the record. We love all our allies, and this was an incredibly difficult decision to make. I personally went back and forth on it for many an hour. If anyone involved needs explanation of our reasoning, I can be found in #genesis on coldfront. The members of Genesis are a great bunch, and have been instructed to treat our opponents with respect. If there are instances where this is not the case, feel free to contact me on the Genesis forums or our IRC. Now back to your regularly scheduled warring.

Genesis Declaration of War This entire war has left a bad taste in the mouths of many, and Genesis is no exception. There is no singular entity to blame, because at this point there is more than enough to go around. However a treaty is a treaty, and when called upon to honor it, Genesis must answer the call regardless of feelings upon the conflict as a whole. We have good friends and allies that are potentially going to be on the other "side" of this conflict, and we love them just the same. We are not in this for sides or ideology, though in the end that is all that will be remembered. In accordance with the Cool Honorable Energetic Elephants Sharing Everything Treaty, Genesis hereby recognizes a State of War with Nemesis. Nothing personal, you just attacked our ally and we can't just sit by and watch them come to harm. Oh and obligatory Boo for Yawoo.
