Congrats to JB on new found freedom. My crystal ball is broken, I have no ability to tell what IRON may do in any given circumstance regarding JB. I would hope that common sense and some sense of fair play would prevail. I would also hope to see IRON adopt a more humane policy on the use PZI or EZI. But I have my alliance to run, they have theirs. It is ultimately their choice.

I was about to post something very similar, but it seems Heft has saved me the trouble.

The wording on the EZI or PZI part is vague, but that's not necessarily so evil. I've seen hundreds (thousands?) of examples of charters, internal legislation, and treaties having vague language in them. That is because these documents don't typically foresee every possible situation, and it would be very difficult for them to do so. Even if it's ambivalent, this step towards getting rid of EZI is a good thing in my book. As for the treaty announcement/cancellation/whatever, who cares? Time will tell. It's not like it affects anything immediately anyway, with a 15 day termination period.

Spying is considered a big deal, regardless of what was spied upon and/or stolen. To answer your earlier comment about other alliances, I think Archon already referenced that. A lot of your nations are out of range for the average MK member, so one (more maybe?) of MK's allies is helping out.

I don't think most alliances feel any differently about you now than they did 2 days ago. I haven't seen any evidence of anyone hating you. Your allies aren't dropping you. Better than I can say for some allies.

Please consider taking this up in private with the rest of your gov. You're not doing yourself any favors here. Multiple people have tried to explain, pretty nicely from what I've seen, what's going on and why.

My alliance was once an ally of yours, so I'll be respectful here. MK has not sentenced you to destruction. MK is punishing your alliance for the actions of a couple of your government. That is not a new precedent in CN. Very few, if any, wars have happened where only the guilty parties were attacked. In this place, alliances are attacked for the actions of its leadership. Nothing more, nothing less. You should be glad it's MK at war with you, and not some of the other parties in this place. If you had to deal with the crippling terms I've seen others accept, maybe I'd feel sorrier for you. But as it is, you're being dealt a lesson war. Not a huge deal. You still have your allies to help you rebuild after the war, and your opponents have recognized that and expressed their pleasure at the fact. You're dealing with a class act, so take the time to enjoy it. Message your attackers along with your ground attacks. Make some gestures of goodwill. Wars like this are a breath of fresh air compared to most of what we see here.

Not to go too far off-topic, but ARES is a great bunch of people, and I am proud to call them allies. If UBD asked their allies to stay out, then more power to them. They're taking their punishment for the wrongs performed by certain members of their government. If they wish to keep their allies out of this drama, it's their call. Also, I believe someone has pointed out, UBD has no MADPs. Spying is alway considered an act of aggression. Meaning that in the legal sense, UBD initiated the conflict, and their treaty partners are under no obligation to act.

I would not have expected these actions out of anyone at UBD, particularly mdnss. It looks like you're only getting a lesson war/punishment war. No reason to LUEicide and run away from Planet Bob.

I'm happy to see this carry over to The Syndicate. We've built a great friendship so far, and I am looking forward to seeing where this goes in the future. o/
