1. Welcome to new friends. They look suspiciously like our old friends
2. As an alternative option, which is a bit less drastic: what if everyone received 3 resources at start-up, and then received only 2 trade slots (a third with the harbor)? This would provide the same number of resources, while requiring you to get 2 less trades. This seems like it would simplify the problem of having too few players for trades once people start deleting. Additionally, the addition of an extra resource would make it more likely that any given nation has at least 1 bad resource, which would tend to even out trade sets. Yes, the best trade sets would probably be harder to get, but keeping a full set of trades would be easier. edit: I only play TE occasionally, but in my comparatively limited experience, this seems like it should be helpful. At least something worth trying for a round.
3.
Whoa. Is that a slight bit of praise for us? Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed this morning?
SSSHHHH! It's like a beautiful butterfly; if you move, or make a sound, you will startle it away. On topic, though: I think that the OP may have overstated the relevance of the recent NSO-MK event. However, it is rare that MK gets dealt a resounding PR defeat (rare as in I cannot remember another one, offhand). Whether that has the level of significance that the OP seems to think it will/does, I don't know. It is an interesting theory, however - thank you for the open and well-thought post.
4. This is such a crock of @#$%.The relevant information is that some idiot stole $3 million and rode NSO's AA. NSO disavowed the 'member' offered to let MK destroy him, or destroy him themselves AND pay the $3 million he was given. At that point, this should be over. The fact that it went beyond there is entirely predicated on extortion and/or an attempt to bait NSO. I appreciate them having the fortitude to not rise to the bait, despite the fact that it is repugnant on principle. Cheers to my allies.
5. Congrats, Mia and the rest of our TOOLie allies. ShinRa, these're good people.
6.
gratz muddog but your flag still looks like the balls.
I prefer to think of it that way.
7.
To be fair, I've been told sometimes my humour can be unfortunately subtle so I'll forgive you for missing it this time! Just follow Ernesto's lead; he got it on the first try.
Meh, I suppose it could be taken that way
8.
Such a shame, Ernesto. It's like you're intent on rubbing dung on your alliance's name.
and
Ernesto I regret to inform you that by sharing dual membership with FEAR, Europa is now, via the transitive property, also next.
You know, if I didn't know better, I would think that you guys didn't like FEAR O well..... yeah, I tried real hard to care/be scared/have any feelings regarding either of you, but I just couldn't.Tell you what, you just keep on posturing, and I will just keep on thinking poorly of you.
9. Bow before the Natty-Ice Man .
10. Hello, Muddog, folks. Just your friendly neighborhood protector saying hello, love the new Charter, first time I noticed you had balls on your flag... but hey, I kind of like it
11.
I don't understand this question. You mean, just the sum of the treaty tensions like the UI shows on mouseover? Yeah, that would be easy enough if you want it.
Yeah. I think it is a rather interesting indicator of how torn an alliance is based on their treaties, and the pressures acting on them in general. Similar to the tension indicator for an individual treaty, only for an entire alliance. I suppose that is sort of obvious, but it is why I think it would be useful to include in the list on the OP, and it is rather annoying to have to look at only by mousing over each one. Thanks Bob.
12. I can tell you from experience, there are few allies better than NEW, and even fewer who I would rather have at my back when the nukes start flying. Cheers to you both.
13. Not to complain, but would it be possible to include the derived "Total Treaty Tension" for each alliance on the OP's List? I think we might all find it useful, and it would be much easier than checking circle by circle. If there's no good way to do so, thanks anyway.
14. I never truly knew you personally, GK, but I cannot help but approve of your choice of replacement. Hail Lord Captain Commander Mia. Snarkiest of Planet Bob's rulers, Defender of Truth, Hunter of Aes Sedai, and Some other junk.
15.
Boys over at FEAR - Nothing will ever surpass what was felt when we (UCN) rolled against ODN in support of you guys....Love you long time!
Good Times. Congrats nutkase. Been through a few nations in my time here, but this nation will be hitting 1000 days pretty soon, and I still feel like a newb (cue the "you are!" people). Anyway, milestones are what we make of them.... so, cheers.
16.
You don't know your history very well, do you? Just wait until tomorrow
History, hell, anything that happened before the founding of Abscondia is obviously irrelevant and and could not possibly come back to life. I will doubt until proven otherwise due in no small part to the timing of this announcement. Of course, that could be what you want me to do.... or, perhaps, do you want me to think that you are trying to outsmart me because it is April Fools' Day. Well, regardless, remember the second and only slightly less well known of the Great Follies. Never bet against a Sicilian when death is on the line (or something). o_O
17.
Minister of Trade: Ivan Moldavi
You will pardon me if the self appointed King of Hubris taking a minor Gov role makes me doubt the validity of this. Nevertheless, a Merry April Fools to you as well.
18. As always, NEW, much love and respect from FEAR. Canceling on an ally is always an unpleasant thing to do but, at times, a necessary one.
19. but.... but.... but.... I care about you, UCN edit: Italics looked terrible.
20. Well, bad people are bad people regardless of the technology at use. It sucks that some low life continues to do this. My condolences RIA, I hope you get this mess cleaned up fast. edit: clarity and spelling
21. forgot that 50 million could buy 3k infra.

22. Congratulations WP. Oldest allies, oldest friends.
23. Congrats to UCN and Zenith. Two great alliances getting closer
24.
Well it makes sense to leave a bloc called the Common Defense Treaty when the bloc members have shown they can't commonly defend each other.
In this past war, I am not exactly sure what more you could have asked for in regards to defense, at least for FEAR. We were the first in, and only got "countered" by the Amazons, Troy, and The Immortals, iirc. Our allies jumped on that, and knocked them out of the war. We did not get countered again until so late that we were already in peace talks and there would have been little point to it. I have no problems with UPN going neutral, to be honest - that quote from Altheus is terribly out of context. As for our real reasons... they will remain private. CDT knows why we chose to leave and I don't think there is any hard feelings about it. (although I am retired-ish Gov and don't have the contact with the other signatories that current Gov does/did). edit: typing is for better people than me
25.
CDT is the oldest bloc still alive in CN and has seen many, many alliances come and go. They still have 6 signatories, and if CDT has lasted this long, I don't see why it can't chug on through this.
I am quoting this because it is true. CDT still retains a number of quality alliances and has a sizable, although recently diminished, Nation Strength. There is no reason to believe this will be the end of CDT and while FEAR and NATO saw our paths going away from CDT, I hope for nothing but the best for them.
