I think we all agree these boards are where the game is actually played, so more posts/views per topic mean IMHO an increased interest in the game. And no, this isn't a conclusive in-depth study. But I think my point still stands, we may lose nations but we still have 23,000 unique players left. Those 40,000 which were talked about in the serious peak time of CN and I don't want to know how much of those were multies. In December 2007 we already only had 32,000 players which makes the drop already a lot less serious. Why is everyone freaking out? Yeah it gets a little dull as far as loud explosions go, but if that's all you find fun, you're in for a rough time playing CN. Wars are brief, and the time when the outcome is undecided is extremely brief. Rebuilding takes insanely long because the MP has made nukes ubiquitous. This is nothing new, it happens every time. It'll pass, and in the meantime, you can focus on the 99% of the game that isn't loud explosions. Build up your nation so you can kick some butt when a war does come. Train by raiding if your alliance allows it. If you're not already, try getting involved in your alliance. Get to know your comrades and allies on IRC. Try looking at political trends and guess where things are heading. There's always interesting stuff if you know where to look. There's plenty to do here that doesn't involve war.
