The Vatican reports that tomorrow, before the meeting with Patrick Wood in New England, Pope John Paul III will celebrate a Papal Mass in the Basilica and Shrine of Our Mother of Perpetual Help in Boston to declare an ex cathedra announcement that, according to officials, will massively affect the fates of the souls of the past, present, and future.

OOC: Well, Centurius isn't responding, so I'll just go to the next country on the list.

IC: Shepard One landed at Logan International Airport, and the Pope went into a sort and mild panic attack from anxiety just before boarding off the plane . Today, two very big events would occur in Boston: an ex cathedra announcement, and a meeting with Patrick Wood in an attempt to unify the two churches. The Cardinal Deacon and the Cardinal Bishop, who stood outside and waited for the Pope, could only stand and gasp.

The Cardinal Deacon whispered to the Cardinal Bishop, "I should have elected you for Pope."

The CB's reply: "Well, he is, in my opinion, the holiest man I know. He is best for the Pope. Besides, every Pope since Saint Peter has paniced like this before their first ex cathedra announcement."

"Should we tell him that?"

"Absolutely not."

The Pope finally calmed down and came down the stairs of Shepard One. Seeing the two Cardinals, he blessed them, and they discussed the Mass. Then looking around, the Pope asked, "Where is the President?"

"He hasn't arrived yet. Maybe he'll meet you after Mass. Maybe we should wait ten more minutes, and if he doesn't come, we'll assume he'll meet us later."

OOC: Sorry about that. :o

IC:

After some time, a limousine arrived, accompanied by SUVs. The doors opened, and several figures stepped out (except one, who was carried into a wheelchair prepared by Secret Service agents).

President John Fitzgerald Kennedy smiled as he saw several figures off in the distance. With Attorney General Robert Francis Kennedy and Secretary of State Franklin Delano Roosevelt behind him, the President approached the Pope ad two Cardinals. Upon reaching them, the President bowed and the others did the same (Roosevelt only ‘bowed’ his head). “Hello. It is an utmost honor to meet you, Pope.” The President said, smiling. He also greeted the two Cardinals. "Please do pardon my relatively late arrival. I had other businesses to attend to. Please forgive me."

Archbishop Patrick Cardinal Wood arrives at the meeting place escorted by two men. He arrives and announces himself as Bishop Wood, although clearly he is a Cardinal of the Church by his dress and in fact Archbishop of Cruachan, the most important diocese of Tahoe. The two other men introduce themselves as Bishop MacDonald and Father Duggan, both assistants to the Archbishop.

"A pleasure to meet you all, brothers. I trust your trip has been fruitful. Now, lets forgoe formalities and get right to it. Will the Roman Catholic Church in the Tahoe Republic (and numerous dioceses around the world), which since the death of John Paul II, has been lead by myself as the Seat of Peter has been sede vecante acknowledge you as the Vicar of Christ? As you know, the Roman Catholic Church of Tahoe is very large and many dioceses across America, not in Tahoe, have associated themselves with us during these troubling times. We have not seen the proper forms followed in calling Conclave, no nothing of your background, your theological beliefs, your human beliefs...why should we recognize you. If we are to do so, and God knows the Church needs Unity, we must know about you. So, let us sit and you shall speak."

Franklin Roosevelt chuckled to himself quietly between the two groups of clergy. This Tahoan might be a Bishop but he certainly exercised all the traits famous in Tahoans. Straightforward and plainspoken people, they were. Sometimes too straightforward...thought Roosevelt

"Pen Island thinks that it is funny that this so-called "Pope" should go on a "world peace" mission when he encouraged war on Pen Island itself. Such actions are typical of a hypocrite, and the Pope and any other so-called Catholic missionary from his church is outright banned from ever setting foot on Pen Island. We don't want religions that deceive the people and spread false truths around our country."

We hope that The Holy Father may schedule a visit to Acca Dacca. Acca Dacca is a Catholic state that is looking to formerly unite with any organized Catholic religion. It has recently recognizes Pope John Paul III as the official pope of the religion and houses a Cardinal. With your consideration, we'd like to be on your tour.

Sincerely,

The Melanesian Brotherhood

Parliment of Acca Dacca.

Acca Dacca has been added onto the list.

May we inform the so called President of "ajsfhdsngsdf" that complete world peace is impossible and that Pope John Paul III will sponsor just wars in order to stop prejudice and inequality in certain countries and bring them a relative peace.

The Pope looked at the Cardinal thoughtfully for a second, and then replied, "Well, your church may be spread all across America, but all of the other dioceses came to Jerusalem for election, constituting a partial college that represented more dioceses than you influenced. It was difficult to follow the proper forms, since the Roman Catholic Church was split up after the loss of Pope Paul VII. Those who planned the Conclave thought it would be easier for everyone if they varied the forms of the beginning of the Conclave. As to the halt of the elections, the voter turnout was extremely low for the second one, and predicting that the turnout results would continue, the College saw no point in continuing the election, so they decided to elect the Pope based on the results of the first election.

"As for my background, I went to Rome to study theology before becoming a priest. I was ordained and was assigned to a church in the Mariehamm Republic, and I was ordained a bishop about 20 years later. I was elevated to the College of Cardinals 10 years later, where I wrote many encyclicals. Then I became Pope.

"For my views, well, let's just say that mine are like other Catholics. I am against abortion, euthanasia, capital punishment, and any type of contraception because I believe in the sanctity of life. I believe in the trinity, and I have no problems with the Marian beliefs that the previous popes have set. In my Papacy, I hope to unite Catholics with the rest of the world, no matter what beliefs the rest of the world believe in."

OOC: Hmm... I iz board. This is bad.

IC:

: Ziggy had just arrived back from a plane trip to Procintia when something happened. His plane just landing on Aether Empire soil when he suddenly got a phone call from Zarfef. :

Ziggy: Hello, I'm home!

Zarfef: Wait? Already? Oh yes, I just sent you on that one trip... well there is no rest for the young, good we feed you well. I have a mission of high importance! One that may grant me the power to TAKE OVER THE WORLD!

Ziggy: Umm... already? But I haven't even begun or have the base technologies for a giant killer robot yet.

Zarfef: No, this will be FAR easier. I am sending you on a religious pilgrimage. TO STEAL THE POPE'S HAT!

Ziggy: But I'm not even Catholic... I don't have anything against the Catholic Church and all, although I'd rather keep some distance from some of their priests at my age, but. Hey wait, what does the Pope's hat have to do with anything?

Zarfef: THINK ABOUT IT! Large numbers of people flock him, they would give their lives to his every command. WHAT INSPIRES THAT KIND OF MINDLESS LOYALTY! IT MUST BE. THE. HAT!

http://www.thumperscorner.com/discus/messa...23046/24914.jpg

Zarfef: I want that hat. I don't care what you have to do to get it. And you as my minion will bring it to me. Don't get caught, we will deny all knowledge of your existence and divine revelation doesn't hold up in the court of global opinion. This is a mission of the greatest importance... which is why we're only sending you. Unarmed.

Ziggy: Dosh-ite. (The plane is refueled and takes off again to the Pope's current location Ziggy was to be para-dropped at)

"If the Pope wants to visit the Republic of Mariehamm, he will have to get a visa and go though the same channels as everyone else. Religion has no part in government." PM Gustafsson

OOC:

If Komeil was still my character, I would have had him demand to wear the pope hat. :awesome:

Yet again we laugh at this so-called "religious leader", or "Pope". To think that he supports only "just causes" of war. You mean "just cause" in your own view, correct? Is that not how all wars are started? What a joke. What a hypocrite. I can't believe other people follow your false guidance.

Minilla Island Itinerary has been approved with suggestions:

Papal walk to to Black Rock National Monument should be moved to Day 4 at 1100, with the Children's Mass shortly after.

Day 5 at 1230 should be a LifeTeen Mass. (LifeTeen Mass is a Mass dedicated to youth. It is most recognizable for having a Christian rock band provide music instead of the traditional choir.

Thank you for your cooperation.

The Church will cease communicating with Pen Island until they learn not to shoot anyone who opposes them.

OOC: Mudd's taking awhile, isn't he?

As you can see, the itinerary has been fixed. Day Five is going to be brutal, though.

Aiginor Would like to change it's request. We would like the Pope to visit those fleeing from Pax Pacis as refugees. They've been through quite a lot recently, and a visit from such a powerful figure of peace such as yourself would do them good. Their ships will dock in Lucinam in about a day.

The Pope is proud to say that he once pulled six straight all-nighters, so Day 5 will not be to tough for him.

Aiginor has been added on the list. Unfortunately, the Pope may take awhile to arrive due to a hectic schedule, but will address Pax Pacis and the refugees that have fled from it.

Golgotha would be delighted to host a meeting with the Pope on your world tour. As we have previously discussed, we would like to have a meeting concerning the promotion of Catholicism in Golgotha, as well as the benefits/negative effects of doing so, as well as putting past actions behind us. At the wish of the Pope, we will arrange an itinerary for your arrival, as well as a date and time.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Sinclaire

Pope John Paul III travelled to The Basilica and Shrine of Our Mother of Perpetual Help in Boston today for a Papal Mass. Before celebrating, he prayed to the Lady of Perpetual Help, the patron saint of the Basilica, to intercede for the people of the world.

Afterwards, the Mass started, and it was a typical Papal Mass until the homily, the time of the ex cathedra announcement. An excerpt from the homily:

For the past two millenia, Catholics have been taught that only those who are baptized through the Catholic Church may go to heaven. By doing so, our previous Popes have doomed all non-Catholics. But why would they do this? My children, I tell you, they were wrong. Nowhere in the Holy Scriptures does it say that only Catholics must go to heaven. In face, Jesus Christ Himself says that non-Catholics may go to heaven, as we heard in today's gospel:

"What is your opinion? A man had two sons. He came to the first and said, 'Son, go out and work in the vineyard today.'

He said in reply, 'I will not,' but afterwards he changed his mind and went.

The man came to the other son and gave the same order. He said in reply, 'Yes, sir,' but did not go.

Which of the two did his father's will?" They answered, "The first." Jesus said to them, "Amen, I say to you, tax collectors and prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God before you.

When John came to you in the way of righteousness, you did not believe him; but tax collectors and prostitutes did. Yet even when you saw that, you did not later change your minds and believe him.

Jesus Christ specifically said that non-Catholics are entering heaven before his own disciples. Therefore, the previous Popes had reached an error. The non-Catholics that do the will of God are just like the first son, in that they said no to Jesus Christ, but still did as He instructed. They are not baptized through the Catholic Church, but through the Holy Spirit.

So by the power vested in me, as the Vicar of Christ, the Bishop of Rome, and the Decendant of the Apostles, I speak ex cathedra, from the chair, with Papal Infallibility in that the non-Catholics who do the will of God may inherit the Kingdom of God.

pope_031019.jpg

Following thunderous applause in the Basilica, the Pope went on with Mass as usual. At the end, Pope John Paul III was swarmed by people and could not exit the sanctuary.

Echoing the sentiments of the Dragon empire, and as the Dominion is a fully Atheist society the pope as the chief proliferator and manifestation of religion is not welcome. Moreover we feel the idea of spreading "world peace" is not only part of a great lie that permeates our society as war is inherent to disagreement and struggle. Apologies if this is an inconvenience.

Perhaps you misunderstand. World peace, as defined by the Pope, is a concept in which countries do not disagree or struggle, but strive through diplomacy. War will be used only when it meets the circumstances of a just war.

In doing so, the Pope would like to speak with you after hs tour so that relations may be improved significantly between the two groups. The same goes to the Dragon Empire and anyone else who opposes the Pope and/or the Church, in case they have not seen the message yet.
