1. Most excellent to hear - and in two days, I shall celebrate my thousandth day in the CoJ. Rather fitting celebration! My nation is also a little over four years old - so I suppose I am also celebrating my own four year anniversary as well. The Aether Empire sends her best wishes to all of Digiterra - may you see the light of lady Justitia.
2. OOC: The final nail in the coffin has arrived - but a good nail. I've gotten a job and I've been told that the company envisions me as potentially one of their top employees. So the time has arrived for me to bow out gracefully, so that I can focus on the adventures that I role play in life with my friends, family and now - coworkers. I've loved RPing with all of you and if I imagine a nation in the future, I'd love to do so again. I know the current Edean too well though, and I'm too attached to the creatures within her to let them be harmed. When a new nation does form in Ecuador though, if someone would be so kind as to inform me, I'd like for the Triumvirs to possibly be there to cheer in the new government for a sense of history. I'm not leaving the game, I'm just heading off until other ideas arrive... and I may influence this world from the shadows as well, even without a nation. IC: Things had grown complicated in Edean - the people had never truly recovered after the attacks from Zarfef. Perhaps materially, but emotionally they felt vulnerable. When it became revealed that the Triumvirate, via Lagrange, had access to nuclear weapons of it's own, but refused to retaliate with them to stop the Aether menace, this left an even greater gap in the people's trust. Of course, what right did they have to demand military protection. Edean was an anarch, but the Vesari in particular, needed to feel belonging - and the humans were of the same mind. Economically, this ruffled the fur of the Oniru, but they were ever becoming the marginalized, if exuberantly wealthy, majority by the day. A society is needed - mostly for the sense of belonging and then for the fringe benefits of military and social protection second. Edean had still served it's purpose in it's grand experiment though. It had remained as a stable anarch for a great period of time, harming none, not within nor without. Yet a changing world required organization and almost that numinous witchcraft that national leaders held over their peoples. A small movement took place to move Edean into it's own nation - but ultimately the people only knew that they desired to gain true leadership, but the mechanism they would use for such a nation... well, that was difficult for them to discern. Much like every other people on the planet, divisions in thought concerning how Edean should be run lead to different camps of supporters. However, after living years successfully as an anarch, they chose to continue the pursuit of contemplative reflection until a solution could be resolved peacefully, like the resonance of a beautiful poem, rather than force their ideologies down their neighbor's throats with a gun. And so, the revolution of Edean into a dreamlike state where it sought after a new national flag and verse to guide it's people, began not with a gun shot, but with the whisper of ink on paper.
Dear Esteemed Sisters and Brothers in Mexico: A great time of change has come for the people here in Edean. It is a change that causes me concern, but not necessarily in a bad way. There is simply risk, and so given that they have set their hearts to it, I should like to see their success in any mannerism possible. To put it shortly, the people have gone into revolt - and they've gone into revolt against me. Perhaps it the grandpa coming out in an old man, but I'm actually not entirely surprised, and even a little bit proud. For they have not turned to blood and violence, but have instead leveled this triumvirate with words and demand for social and international justice. They are asking for a nation - not so that they can be ruled, or become great (for certainly they have shown that they are able to rule over their own lives), but instead so that they can take part in the greater community of the world and to stand up against others. Naturally, I would act to grant them this request post haste - but being the children they are in this affair, they are still uncertain of which path they desire to take and I am afraid that I am only hindering them. After all, I'd still rather that we remain an anarch, but I will not stand in their way either. Instead, I believe the best path for them, is to try their hand at understanding various forms of government in small regions, before eventually understanding which path will best suit the people. I hope they will choose wisely, as I intend on continuing to live here. Still, it is with a heavy heart, that I humbly ask of Mexico for a position as a protectorate to help guide the way in the twilight of this experiment. While it sounds like a silly way to phrase a question, the people have sent me letters and many - particularly the Vesari, being the creatures they are, have asked that I simply ask you: Would you love us and adopt us while we grow - so that we might learn to follow in the ways of other nations as adults? All the preparations are underway for the transition and if you would like to meet, I would be honored to discuss the matter here at Mystwood Citadel or travel abroad if you should so desire. I realize this is a big request, but I believe this decision is in their best interest. Please take care of them, they are my life's treasure. Sincerely, Triumvir Rodolfo Witness Triumvir Gildas Triumvir Androcles
"And so it is done."
3. EEF Mining Consortium: Half A Trillion GDP In a brilliant move by Triumvir Gildas and Rodolfo-Avila, the EEF announced a new mining consortium. The new consortium will allow for smaller financers to pool their resources in order to approach the large scale industrial mining operations, in the hopes of reducing the nations dependence upon foreign materials and to help reduce costs at home. The move couldn't have come at a better time, as South America descends into chaos once again and the train of supplies and goods Edean needs for her economic engine falling with the prospects of another violent era. Tribes Protest EEF's MC Decision Article 10: No person shall incur a charge against another for anything other then a non-natural product or productive service of a person... This was meant to insure the Edean's pristine mountains remained as they are, pristine. Yet the recent move by Triumvir Gildas and Rodolfo behind closed doors, without a Vesari Triumvir even present, tells of a plot to undermine our precious constitution in the name of money. In the typical mannerism of lawyers, they gathered together around a dictionary, to seek out 'unique' words to label their causes. The EEF is itself, a violation of the ban on corporations written into our great constitution - this 'consortium, is little different. In the same vein, they have gone out of their way to refer to mining as "materials processing" and "materials vertical transport". "Saftey lines" have become artificial forms of land ownership and even now, they drawing up which mountains they wish to gut and pillage. The people of Edean cannot stand by idly as the wealthy destroy our homeland. This is the only place we have - we must protect it at all costs. Edean's Purpose in Global Affairs Why do we exist? Such a question should draw any number of answers, but ultimately our existence in Edean is an ill defined concept. We were founded by the once great Human Salvation Committee, our people funded humanitarian aid projects around the globe, yet after the Aether-Edean war, we stagnated and we've fallen into the shadows from which our people came. I understand the value of neutrality to many, but at the same time, I question how we can remain impartial to the destruction being waged around the globe when it is our duty to help insure humanities survival. Perhaps Zarfef abandoned his attacks against our nation because we ourselves, abandoned our goal of bringing about a better world. Some may be happy with that. I, however, cannot accept the pacifying of great villains simply to ensure my own survive. I believe that we as a people should be given a great destiny, to help the world and stand against the forces of tyranny where-ever they may rise. If ultimately, the Triumvirate claims our goal is to sit back and watch the world burn, I cannot sit back quietly. We cannot sit back quietly. We are the justice the world desires and together, we can forge a better world for all. Then, there will be plenty of time to peace and quiet. Until then, the world is filled with great evil that must be destroyed and we cannot stand by idly and allow such an evil to flourish. -The Brave
4. Edean Advances Military Infrastructure [PRIVATE - E.G. CLASSIFIED] "The Brazilians have seemingly pulled out an entire navy out of their hat." Gildas barked as the oniru marched ahead of recently re-elected Triumvir Rodolfo. "Meanwhile, an imperial Peru rises one morning and collapses, Mexio inherits the entirety of the Umbrella Commonwealth and Peru is once again swaying to another regime in a period of months... Things have been most unstable in South America Rodolfo." "And I believe we've been wise to take a back seat to the entire affair Gildas. We've survived through one war and five years as a nation, so that we can arguably be considered the matriarch of South America." Rodolfo took a pause to lean against the nearby wooden door leading him into a private room in the Council Chambers at Mistwood Citadel, where he and Triumvir Gildas were planning a meeting on the defense of Edean with numerous captains of industry. "If anything, we have proven that a libertarian government, like Edean's, can be a bastion of stability. We've done well for our people and the private markets are thriving." "Yet we haven't done nearly enough." Gildas twitched his ears as he sniffed the familiar air of the building, rattling some loose change in his pocket as his eyes surveyed the city from their sky-perched castle. "Mistwood Citadel is still rebuilding from the last attacks against Edean by that maniac, Zarfef, and while we've held him off, he has hardly been destroyed. Will Raziya be here today?" "Unlikely." Rodolfo sighed as he laid a suitcase down on the nearby varnished oak table and closed the door behind them. "She's still working towards a transition to the new triumvirate with Alesteir. It's a pity that not a single vesari triumvirate has tried to seek re-election since our foundation, because we're starting to loose the pool of enthusiastic creatures to take up the job." The rabbit turned its attention towards Dr. Bladeborne, who was combing his hairs out with his hand before the meeting. "You've earned a few more grey hairs, have you Bladeborne?" Gildas kidded, before accepting a plane manila envelope tossed across the table with a nod of appreciation. Gildas gave a quick glance over the materials inside before returning his attention back to the room, handing the envelope down the line to Rodolfo, who was still occupied with the picture of a lightly armored tank under development by Geartronics. http://sid75.deviantart.com/art/Light-Armored-Vehicle-84513497 ^OOC: Like this awesome drawing. "This one doesn't look half bad." Rodolfo grinned. "I might even buy a few for my own guard." "That would be our latest striker attack tank." Geartronics representative Ines flickered to life. "It has everything you might desire from a light armored attack vehicle: 120km/hr operating speed, a sporty 450 HP engine, 4 wheel drive with advanced adaptive traction tires, 7.5mm armor plating and computer controls, 360 degree digital displays, various EMF countermeasures, a 90 mm cannon and a networking and sensor array that are perfectly calibrated for Edean's defense." "Well, that's all good and all, but how much is all of that going to cost?" Rodolfo scoffed, as he allowed the manilla envelope, passed to him by Gildas, to retake his attention. "Oh eh - we're thinking it should be about $5-7 million per tank. A little expensive, but it's well worth the purchase. This new creation is heavily influenced by the incursions of the War Tzar Tanks. Edean needs a battle tank that can handle battles in the urban as well as the physical jungle... which is where this bad boy comes into play." "Well, that's not too bad." Rodolfo shook his head before launching the papers back at the oniru. "So Lagrange is splitting apart? Why would you guys do something like that?" "I see you've noticed Iris LLC and Triton Nautical Labs." Dr. Bladeborne let his smile fill the room as he pulled out a few sheets of his own to rekindle his memory. "Officially, we're making this move so that we can focus on what really matters to us - aerospace. Lagrange already builds the SKY SHARK , AEWACs AIRCRAFT, we helped startup DISCO SPACE Exploration, which led to the contract to construct the EDEASTAR and we're running small antimissile batteries across the nation that provides 50% coverage against any and all low atmospheric missile threats... Really, we've taken on a lot of different things and while we recognize that this move will isolate the companies from the present ownership, the capital streams will still be present on account of the EEF and we've been priming some young candidates for these positions for a while. So on a more unofficial level, it's a matter of granting these companies greater nimbility when entering into a new market for Edean, while granting the same companies access to the same levels of capital and even technologies that Lagrange has at it's disposal." A few other members of the room frowned, having just had their dreams dashed by the giant that was Lagrange. "The EEF will naturally allow all of you to take part in this endeavor jointly with us." Bladeborne felt compelled to add. Still, even if they did invest, it would be a ship sailed, even if by proxy, by Lagrange enterprises. To fund the project was ultimately to fund their competition and to put themselves out of business. "I should have known this was all about increasing capital." Gildas chuckled to himself as he took a more in depth look at the envelope. "So from what I gather from these over done pieces of company propaganda, is that Iris will be an intelligence agency, focusing on the control of various short and long range RADAR systems, bi-static, multi-static... all of that jazz so that Edean has a solid understanding of the air from a single authoritative source - which I've heard from Free Skies and even some members of Liberty Air was a problem during the last conflict. Likewise, you plan on using this Neptune business to build us a few cruisers, destroyers and attack submarines over the next few years and somehow the budgets will magically rain down the money you need to make this happen - what is your angle on this Bladeborne? You wouldn't be catering promises of a grand security without looking for something, would you?" "You might get that idea from the images - but truth be told, we won't be seeing huge fleets anytime soon. We're running off a 30 year plan. We would like to get two corvettes, two frigates and a destroyer produced within a year. While startup costs have made things difficult, we believe we could get such weapons off the construction yard within roughly a year at a cost of only $7Bil." Bladeborne paused. "Of course, we'd be talking about a different company - so I can't really say what budget they will come up with, those are just numbers we were hoping to get out there. I realize that this is a difficult sum to swallow, but Edean's economy has grown by staggering levels each year. The GDP for this year is estimated to be hitting around $350Bil. Over the years, wars have been the one thing to truly drag Edean's economy down - consider the investment in security to be an investment in the future growth of the country and it doesn't look nearly as bad. Iris ought to be able to run on only $2 Billion a year..." "So that still avoids the point. What are you after?" Gildas reaffirmed, causing Bladeborne to settle into his seat. "We need the Triumvirate to move in the direction of organizing mineral rights and helping to establish a stronger source of native raw materials that Lagrange can access, from both Digiterra sources and the lagging Lunar Mine Project." Dr. Bladeborne stated firmly. "In particular, we need help in alleviating damage to the mining industry by Article 10 in the constitution." Several eyebrows around the room raised at this suggestion. "I knew that Lagrange was power-hungry, but we never knew they were mad." a whispered voice could be heard amongst the various mummers echoing in the hallways. "This could be quite good for business, though, I agree with that much - if it isn't entirely aimed for just them, being the special little prizes that Lagrange is." Finished another. Everyone then turned their eyes towards Gildas and Rodolfo, who were holding onto their own cards. Would the Edean constitution fold, or were the cards against Bladeborne?
5. How many polls does it take to fix CNRP? Well, I'm part Polish, so I can tell you that one is CERTAINLY not enough.
6. ??? Why get rid of it? Honestly, if you're large enough to own nukes and they're small enough that they lack them, you ought to be able to win the conflict without nuclear weapons, or at least bring it to a defensive stalemate. Nuclear weapons are overused in this RP, to the point that they no longer provide any RP value. They're like missile spams with Michael Bay warheads. All explosions, no plot. EDIT: I propose a halfway point. If you can show that dropping your nuke will be followed by awesome RP and it gains unanimous GM approval, you can use nuclear weapons in that RP.
7. Ah hah! Finally found something happy enough to post in. I didn't want to describe building more weapons systems because... well... there wasn't really a need to. My neighbors are all friendly happy people... except for the Imperialists, which scare me somewhat and they might produce some military defense technologies, but I just haven't wanted to write about that as of late. However, a wedding could be fun to RP in XD.
8. Triumvir Gildas would be happy to attend this joyous event, along with Rodolfo Avila. Currently the vesari are in the midst of changing the guard in terms of their own Triumvirate. Therefore, newly elected Triumvir Raziya will not be in attendance. Nor will former Triumvir Alesteir Evylan, who is aiding the transition. However, Triumvir Vivian Androcles, of the first Triumvirate of Edean, has expressed that he would be happy to attend in Raziya's place, if that would be of interest to you. After his term as a Triumvir, he settled down with one Elina Androcles and has two cubs of his own.
9. The people of Edean welcome this nation to the world. Even though it has been a long time since Edean has had anything like a king, which seems strange given that Edean is actually run by a Triumvirate at most and should perhaps then be called, the Free Triumvirate of Edean, or maybe the Free Anarch of Edean... but Kingdom sounds so much cooler and we welcome the Kingdom of Brazil to the world.
10. New "Green" Revolution While the vanishing act implemented by Forbidden Ice had a cooling effect on the economy, the glitch was quickly overcome as the people of Edean rallied for reconstruction efforts across the lands. The collapse of forbidden ice means that food prices are at an all time low and farmers are looking to do something with all that extra invested income. Oddly enough, when their land grew lemons, they seem to have found a way to make it into lemonade - taking advantage of the Edean People's love of nature to produce living buildings. The new Edean that will rise up from the ashes is expected to look closer to a forest then a city as new buildings built in the wake of the Aether-Edean War are covered in life, not only for aesthetics, but to clean the air and remember those that died with a living monument to the people's dedication to life itself and what's more alive then a wall of trees. Examples of the new major architectural movement are seen in the following pictures which paint a better picture then a thousand words. What we can't paint in pictures, is how much of this new architecture is an underground movement. Literally - ok, I need to try and lay off the puns. But really, these new buildings will often be built underground, using their roofs to form new parks throughout the cities of Edean. As the land in Edean is shared communally and not directly owned by anyone. This allows businesses a chance to build their establishments with less conflicts from communities, as they not only provide new jobs, but they also maintain and beautify the land for public enjoyment. Environmentally and emotionally, they're good too, as worker satisfaction was actually improved in business environments that looked less like cubicle hell and more like the garden of Eden. Who'da thunk it? Right? These systems will hopefully be combining with new solar technologies that are expected to boom with the coming abundance of rare silicates as lunar mining operations commence (Disco Space Exploration, has successfully begun to implement the construction of their new southern lunar base) and the potential for abundant cheap titanium alloys could produce new wind farms to make possible, an Edean free of all carbon production in the near future. The GDP this year is projected to hit 348B Gilder, with a per capita GDP of roughly $16,000. This can be compared to only four years ago, when the Edean economy was considered booming for having a GDP of 218B Gilder and a $12,000 Per capita income. Within only four years, the quality of life for Edean citizens has increased by a whopping 33%. Hunger is now no longer an issue, energy will soon be yesterdays problem and the people of Edean stand on the verge of a new golden age of prosperity that they created for themselves - as there is no government to jump in and grab all of the credit.
11.
It just sort of happened. That and if people could vote for themselves, nobody would ever get elected.
If you think I would vote for myself to be GM - you are crazy. You are nutty in the head. I'm not the right man for the job and I know it. I've seen things in SA that would make you far more right for the job then me, although if you didn't want it if nominated - I wouldn't blame you.
12.
3. It's very simple, either rp is co-operative or I destroy it.
You are not so powerful as to be able to destroy CNRP simply by deleting your post. I assure you, my other RPs continue, everyone else's RPs continue, the only ones that die are your RPs. It conveys the feeling of your anger, but beyond that, it's ultimately powerless against others. Think about it Mael - the only situation this works in is if someone is ICly your ally and OOCly your opponent (a rare situation by a masterful RP'er, that would be a person worthy of considering for GM to be certain). Outside of that, you have about 3 other situations: OOCly opponent & ICly opponent -> You rage-quit they win and any allies that were with you suddenly get stuck in one hell of a mess. Congrats, you just helped them out BIG time. OOCly ally & ICly opponent -> Once again, really rare. Yet it if it happens, they don't loose ICly, even though they might care OOCly why you're so stressed and pick up on the signals to change their nations attitude toward you (sacrificing their RP for your feelings). OOCly ally & ICly ally -> Why would you attack people that are your allies IG and OOCly? Do you just enjoy hurting yourself and your friends? This and the first one are most likely, which is why you think it's impossible for an involved nation to be unbiased. So then ultimately, you've done nothing positive for your cause with this. All you've done is empower your enemies because you did what they couldn't, you destroyed yourself completely. That was worth it to you? It gained you nothing but a feeling of retaliation, but it's an imaginary one - your enemies likely gained from it and OOCly, it made you look very immature. (EDIT: Also, I just remembered the name of that dragon! :3 It's called a Coatl... good grief that was hard to recall on whim.)
13.
In democracies, you elect representatives to enact changes based upon a platform. This is my platform. There may not be god-modding, but if the current leadership here had any respect for the rules and the players they wouldn't be trying to disregard votes of people they know are actually interested in rping here.
No sir - that is a representative democracy or a republic, e.g. the United States. CNRP is a traditional democracy, e.g. like Ancient Greece, because the community is small enough that it doesn't require a representative system to function. Each person represents themselves.
I used the Nuclear Option to call attention to the existing abuses and I reserve to use it at my whim as the content i create is my content and this community will only be worthy of it when it is fair. I have no interest in GMing a war in which I participate, because I recognize the truth.. no one can be unbiased when they are involved. Removing involvement removes one from bias. Unfortunately, the existing leadership does not realize this, but thank you for giving me the opportunity to illuminate this fact..
I won't deny that it's your right to use, but people are less likely to participate in the future if they just feel you're only going to blow it up when you're not happy. Furthermore, I don't think this has done anything to make you appear worthy of being a GM in my position. I'm sorry - you have more to learn in life.
1. There was no genocide. I removed my people from the planet. 2. The OOC conflict was so stupid and egregious I didn't want to waste my life on it. 3. If people weren't children on this board and the rules I have recommended were enstated then such events would never need to happen again. 4. When children don't deserve toys, you don't give them the toys. 5. I am content with my decisions given the current behavior of other players and GMs.
I didn't say you committed genocide, I said that if someone did, then there would be potential issues with an invasion simply to kill off an entire species or race of people. I find the use of the word 'children' to be somewhat comical given that rage-quitting is kind of like throwing an RP temper-tantrum. Who exactly did you take toys away from? Do you honestly think that you caused some serious damage to whomever you disliked? Please, do explain the awesome mighty power that is within your claws and how that works for you, I'm interested in understanding how you derive one from the other.
I am flattered you got a wonder for an RP, but you should never build wonders purely for RP. This world has always meant to be somewhat separate from CN. PS. You'll love the ADP anyway, I know I do and it will pay for itself in time. You never came to Antarctica. I am an author, I reserve the rights to do what i please with my content. I don't care how much I had going for me.. you think I can't recreate it a million times? Part of the problems is the level of attachment people are putting upon their characters so that they become idols and not merely tools for the story. If you invest yourself to much into a character then it cannot sustain tragedy and injury. It becomes a liability in terms of rp. Nothing happened to your nations. And yes, I literally wiped my nation out as that is my only means of retaliation when there are GMs who are in the pocket of specific player groups. I will change that, if you elect me, because I will be beholden to and holding grudges against no one. It is my opinion any player has the right to walk away and take their content with them at any time if they are sufficiently upset. It is one of the few checks and balances we have as authors that can enforce respect.
You'd be amazed at how much of my CN nation is run on account of CNRP - I can't get into OWF politics, so this is my politics and my IC section. It drives me to get online each night and make sure that my nation doesn't disappear. Second off, you're only half of an author - if that. You created your characters and yes, they are yours, but mine also were there and you kind of destroyed their story because they were reacting to yours, when you destroyed your story, you also destroyed a part of mine that belonged to me. Legally? No. But who cares about that - this is a personal issue and not a legal one. As far as re-creating it a million times? That's a pretty arrogant thought there, you'd be amazed how hard it is to recreate what you made when others aren't interested in participating. The real bad news about RPing is, you can't RP as an island - you need other people to play the game to get anything out of it. It's not even a competitive game most of the time, especially not in that thread, so all you did was disrespect the rest of us for OOC reasons... and I don't even think it was OOC reasons against the people that were RPing in those threads but someone completely different.
14. What the- Maelstrom I have some very bad news for you. CNRP is a traditional democracy and not a representational democracy. We vote on an issue by issue case in this section of the RP forum in which each of us has a voice without having to right to our congressman or GM to help sponsor a bill for his/her next election. I realize that's an easy mistake to make, but that's not how we do things these days. We run CNRP as a regular all out democracy, where the GMs act like local judges, ruling upon common law of the land... are people installing giga-lasers and trying to blow up the sun? Are they god-modding? Are they violating rules that the people agreed to as a democracy? Unless someone makes a charge, there is no defendant and in some cases, rules are just outright ignored because both sides really didn't like the rules to begin with. I know you put a lot of thought and consideration in this, but it really isn't needed. Sacrificing your nation doesn't show people that you're ready for this, you can be just as biased with or without the nation. What matters is how you handle experiences along the IC/OOC line. When something happens to you IC, do you take it out on someone OOC (and vice versa)? Or do you remain unbiased and try to consider everyone's claim fairly and justly? If you dislike a player OOCly and can't keep those two separated, it doesn't matter if you have a nation, because you'll still be biased and punish them in the reverse direction. You don't own a physical nation ICly, but you certainly have a nuclear option, with which you can hurt other players in an attempt to hurt them ICly and to hurt them OOCly as well. People tend to notice that and so it's quite effective, but it is not the quality of a good GM. If you could keep those two perfectly separate however, then you could possibly even GM a war between yourself and someone else, accepting when they bring up charges against you for violating rules and not assuming you're always right and trying to be balanced as a third party. That's hard to do, so most of the time, we have multiple GMs that can preside over these issues even though we also do our best not to bother them. Unfortunately look what you've done. You rage-quit destroyed your nation because of other players in Cybernations, you literally slaughtered off stories and entire sections of our world because you disagreed with others. Your nation didn't vanish because you were invaded and your people slaughtered (I would have liked a PM on that because 1. RPing genocide is strictly against the moderator rules and not simply GM rules and 2. because our treaty would have implied that we might have needed to come down there to do our best to defend you and help you from being harmed unnecessarily). But no, you left because of an OOC conflict with others and you need to recognize just why that was so wrong and sad, given your stated aspirations. You took the OOC/IC line so far, that when people disagreed with you and argued with you OOCly, you blew your nation out of existence. If you can do that, I'm afraid to think of what you might do if someone royally ticks you off OOCly during a war, is everything going to go south for them from then on, because the dragon gods are unpleased? Look at what you've done yourself Maelstrom and consider that. As for me, I have my own sad mess to clean up. I bought a @!#^%$#@#@ Agricultural Development Program, requiring about $140 million dollars worth of land, so that I could RP sending more food down to Forbidden Ice, I RP'd this stuff on the news and even contemplated how this might change the future, how it might change Edean's position on treaties. Heck, I was even looking up the blasted name of the type of dragon you used the other day with the feathers because I thought a creature like that species would have been an awesome dragon to add to the collection of species wandering my book. But what did I find instead - nothing, an entire existence of our character's interactions not simply ignored, but shredded so that my character talks to blank space in Antartica. Before you consider being a GM on here, you had better be more mature then that, you had better accept being invaded and realizing that that is part of the game even though we each hate it (I love my nation, I'm sorry - I want to pamper my little creatures like GPA pampers it's nations and never send it to a war in which it loses completely... and I know that I shouldn't do that to others just as well). You have to realize that just because you disagree with someone or even everyone ICly, that doesn't mean you destroy what you did have - because you had a lot going for you Maelstrom and you really blew. Look at your stupid DOE thread and look at the others. Do you see anyone else with half the fuss made over their return as you? You were given a royal welcome and we were all glad you came back and many of us were eager to try and RP things with you - but you couldn't care less what you did to our nations when it came down to it. You didn't even just fade out of existence, you literally wiped your own nation out. Please try to be more considerate in the future. Saddened, -Zarfef
15. ((I need to do another economic update once I've completely settled the war issue down :3, there have been some fairly large changes and we're on the verge of the biggest boom yet - for one, my GDP has practically doubled since I started this nation.)) Edean Triumvirate Promises Military Victory Over Aether Empire The forces of the Aether Empire are now on the retreat and have lost much of their original momentum. Edean militia forces have been fighting the group now for well over six months and Zarfef's threat to utilize nuclear arms against opposing force throughout Edean was thought to have driven the final nail in the coffin of Edean's free people. Today however, is a different story. In a surprise twist, the great General Vuk Zuk has turned and seen the light, as their forces last month, liberated the town of Guayaquil and the entire southern region, effectively reo-pening ports in the region for supplies to come in. Meanwhile, on account of a meeting with the AUP, Edean Triumvirate Alexander Gildas with the aid of Aeon and other allies in the AUP, was granted temporary access to Aeon anti-ballistic missile systems and was also successful at cutting off the primary source of oil for the Aether Military machine. This drained Aether's gas tanks to a trickle from the refineries in the northern city of Esmereldas. However, just last month, in an action that is currently being investigated, a strange military air-strike was launched upon the company, with Liberty Air claiming that it was none other then Free Skies LLC. A statement that Free Skies denies. In either event, the action in combination with the new sanctions against the Aether Empire cut off their military conquest actions and limited them to the movement of ground forces, while returning full air-dominance into the hand of Edean, allowing for the launch of the Edeastar Orbital Transport System and the revelation of the new Top Secret "Xazegami" by Lagrange. At the end of the day, the most stunning blow that has sent entire battalions of the Aether Empire to surrender, utilized the very nuclear weapons that Aether had to terrorize the people of Edean. Hacked by Lagrange scientists, the weapons onboard the five primary Aether warsubs were ordered to launch, using a fourier decomposition of Zarfef's voice to order the launch. Three of the five ships fired all of their nuclear weapons (with current SDI systems set to stand-down) which had been retarted in their coordinates directly upon the ships themselves. The explosion was massive and destroyed each of the ships as they sat just along Edean's Horizon. The action rallied Edean forces and with the heroic efforts of the Red Knight Squadron and Lonely Hearts Club Squadron, the forces of the Aether Empire are being pushed back and their complete surrender is expected in the coming weeks, bringing an end to war and the beginning of reconstruction to the people of Edean. Disco Space Exploration & Lagrange Aerospace Launch Edeastar into Orbit In a stunning development, Disco Space Exploration has announced that it has teamed up with Lagrange Aerospace and has begun construction of a lunar base on the Lunar South pole. Gradea+ Rockets have been noticed launching into orbit lately at an accelerated rate, which apparently has been bringing supplies up to a massive space platform, kept under wraps, the Edeastar Orbital Transport System. The plan is to set up a primary base of operations along the southern craters of the moon, where eternal points of light and lunar water ice are present, making this environment most favorable to producing crops to feed lunar citizens and to help in the construction of future planned lunar colonies and a lunar mine and Edean hopes that this action will help stimulate trade between the Lunar Republic and Edean, to create a new "Lunar Economy". Most important of all, the discovery of new Titanium deposits on the Lunar Surface have resulted in the expectation of a drop in new lightweigh materials, critical to the future aerospace industry, rare silicates which will be invaluable to launching a new green solar panel revolution throughout Edean and the potential for new jobs to help jumpstart the economy as Edean leaves these war torn years and looks forward to a future of hope. Construction of the Lunar Base is expected to take roughly one year along the southern craters of the moon at which point, Edean hopes to begin the acquisition of rare materials from lunar mines, eventually expanding to acquire a lunar colony there to bring Edean into the stars where we can work towards a brighter future for the world. It should be noted that, in order to achieve this on a minimum budget. The Edeastar itself was comissioned and is a large scale transport platform. The massive shuttle system maintains it's orbit around the globe at first, acquiring supplies via Gradea+ rockets launched by Disco Space Exploration every few days. Then upon reaching capacity, the system utilizes it's power nuclear powered ion thrusters to increase it's energy state, causing it to hit a higher orbit which slingshots it to the moon where the supplies are dropped off via an onboard shuttle (once the runway is completed via initial robotic crews). At which point, the Edeastar completes it's figure 8 and returns back to a low earth orbit for resupply. New Top-Secret Lagrange Aircraft, Called the "Xazegami" is Revealed By Lagrange Lagrange has announced today, the existence of the Xazegami fighter aircraft. The aircraft has been under top-secret military research since the Edean Economic Boom year and is being heralded as one of the most advanced fighter aircraft around the globe by Edean aerospace experts. Details of the plane still remain a tight secret but reports suggest that the aircraft will utilize new electromagnetic laser-ignited pulse engines for high speed long range redeployment, will be designed as a potent all-around fighter and will also make use of technology deployment as a service architecture. On account of Edean's freedom of industry, the full, unwatered down version of the aircraft will be available to all nations upon once production begins, which is expected to commence in roughly 2-3 years after current in flight tests are completed and in order to lower costs with the expected implementation of a lunar mining facility, required for the titanium, an alloy of which is used extensively throughout the aircraft. New Trade Agreement With Forbidden Ice Stimulates A New Green Economy A new trade agreement, signed by Triumvir Alesteir Evylan has gone into effect, which has resulted in a massive economic boom in the Edean "green market", referring specifically to the production of large amounts of food, which will be traded for raw materials in an agreement with the dragon species recently discovered and revealed to the world. Large amounts of food supplies are being loaded daily from the southern and northern free ports of Edean and with these new trade agreements, the economic prospects for Edean citizens looks particularly well in the post war economy. The growth in the food industry, while having a massive demand overseas, has also driven down the local cost of food in Edean, so that hunger is no longer becoming a problem. A completely free market, implies that Edean companies are seeking to vastly reduce the cost of producing food, implementing new scientific techniques to the subject and creating a cheap, quality product that can be shipped to citizens and around the globe. The Edean White Cross is also interested in this development because the acquisition of food wholesale by the organization for humanitarian purposes is also dropping significantly and talks are even underway to try and export certain food growth companies as start up to foreign nations to help the poor there acquire a healthy happy diet. Green Thumb Agricultural Technologies, which is leading the effort, has stated this directly in a manner in their mission statement: "Our goal is to expand the globes waistline, because a fat man is a happy man."
16. Notification from Edean We applaud the Umbrella Commonwealth's restoration of order to the region. We are curious to know if the travel and trade restrictions forbidding non-human species from entering the territory will remain in effect, or if these have been lifted? Furthermore, as the war comes to a close here in Edean between ourselves and the Aether Empire, we would like to know if any additional supplies or resources might be needed? Sincerely, The Edean Triumvirate
17. And I hope to develop a new RP post with some changes in Edean - novels coming along good, I'm over halfway done now with the first draft and the ideas for filling in the chapters are coming along nice YAY! Hopefully, I'll have a post up by tonight though describing some developments, although I do plan on RPing the rest of the war in Edean with Aetehr, even if told as a post-story while the rest of my nation moves on.
18.
Bah, a man can never truly know something for certain about a woman...not the character stuff anyway.
I have a hypothesis about this. I think it's futile for anyone, even women to try and truly know something about other women. After all, according to the stereotype (and we all know that in conversations like this, only the stereotype matters), women rely more on emotions rather then on logic... even though I also trust my emotions more then logic these days as well, after logic told me to jump off a bridge. What an ass, I know. In any event, if women rely more on emotions then on logic, then that means that attempting to logically figure them out is going about it completely wrong. For a man to truly 'get' a women, he has to stop trying to 'truly know' her and instead, he has to try and truly get a feeling about her, not a physical feeling, sorry Kaiser, but an emotional feeling about her. For the most part (going by the stereotype), we're not too good at that, but at least then, I think we'd be on the right track. I've just hit 44 pages of joy and I am now about 30% done . (In Standard mass-paper-back form, that's 128 pages)
19. We always come back is right TBM. Those who don't, aren't heard from again! Once you leave the exit door, forever will blue skies and puppy-dogs devour thy soul!
20.
PUT ME IN IT!
I actually had a character with the first name of Kaiser, Dr. Kaiser Obanaski. I suppose it wouldn't be too hard to write you in as Dr. Kaiser Obanaski Melech III .If you don't mind being part of an organization of evil villains hell-bent on the destruction of the world XD.
21. I realize this is REALLY outside of the normal range and that few people will likely read it... however, I will likely be less then active over the next two weeks in CNRP. Why? Well, with all of my writing experience, no job and hence, nothing to lose... I've decided, I'm gonna write me a book... and given how rapidly I put text to paper, I hope to have most of the first and second drafts done in two weeks, finishing up sometime after that - publish via amazon Kindle and see what happens. If it works good, it would be a nice to have something that brings me food and pays for fun things I like to do in life. So there - lesser activity notice, but not complete inactivity, please don't randomly bomb me, I'm already bombing myself for peets sake.
22. "I have a curious question. While I am certainly astonished by the level of quality shown in our own houses, I also am a bit confused. If it is really difficult to build objects to match our scale, but the younger members of your population lack the experience to efficiently produce these objects, then is there any particular reason that you would avoid alternatives? For instance, per-fabricated goods from outside of your land, or even temporary visas for skilled laborers?" Evylan paused on that thought, considering that the potential to be eaten made this option somewhat unfavorable, "Or if you preferred to use internal labor, I have noticed that you already posses advanced technology for power armor and the like - would it be too far out to simply create a 'small dragon' robotic clone that acquired it's fine motor coordination from a larger power-armor user via some kind of digital system combined the two, so that the power armor acted like a complex joystick? If looked at from that perspective, size wouldn't be a particularly difficult problem - external mechanisms that produce smaller detailed components could also be imported that would allow you, I'm certain, to create most of what you might want to market to the smaller audiences of the world, but with control consoles built up to match your size and needs."
23. Alesteir nodded, took out a pen (he was worried that he might have forgotten it) and then proceeded to sign the document himself,
Ice Block. The purpose of this treaty is to provide a framework for unity and trade among friends. 1. All members agree to open trade at current global market prices, letting the free market determine the cost of goods. 2. All members agree to tariff-free trade. 3. All members recognize that they are valuable to each other and shall treat each other as friends. While friends may not always agree on all things, they will consult each other in the event of disagreement in an attempt to work out problems before any form of aggression may occur. This treaty may be later upgraded to a non aggression treaty among signatory members. 4. As a friendship treaty, this treaty is meant to deter aggression against member states. While not an official defense pact, the states recognize this treaty binds them in friendship and they may react accordingly to any threat to any particular member of the treaty. 5. Sea lanes of each member shall be free to pass through by member states so long as properly registered with the proper national certifying authority for sea-craft. 6. A hotline and embassy will be established among constituents to ensure adequate communication in time of crisis. 7. The government of the Forbidden Ice authorizes a subsidy to reduce the cost of raw materials matching the rate of subsidy granted to them by member nations which are willing to sell them food. For example, if a subsidy from a member state gives Forbidden ice 10% off food prices, Forbidden Ice will match that on an equal currency value of Raw Material sales. 8. All commercial traffic on land or air is also free from restriction save from normal import/export legislation and standard border-crossing procedures as authorized by each member nation. Signed for Forbidden Ice, Keth the Wise Signed for Edean, Triumvir Alesteir Evylan
((OOC: Let's just assume that's his name, I have the embarrassing admittance that I just realize that I'm not sure how to spell my own characters name and that that name has changed between Alestair and Alaistier and potentially other variations throughout this RP and potentially others. I'm assuming that he actually knows his own name and from an OOC standpoint I am declaring that that actually is his name even if it varies now or in the future - hopefully I can keep a better continuity with this, at least until next month when I get a new Vesari Triumvirate and a new Human Triumvirate if Rodolfo doesn't win - which I think he'll easily grab a second term, he's extremely popular in Edean. I don't think Evylan will run again though, too stressful.))
24. "Hmm... I think you're right on Article 2, that does seem to be a rather ambiguous, tricky phrase of words. I think you mean to say, All members agree to tariff-free trade and not all members agree to tariff free trade? A hyphen would really go a long ways in tying the words together, to suggest that the trade's are free of tariffs rather then suggesting that all free trade is to be tariffed. A small modification would likely go a long ways in avoiding confusion for future generations that will read this document." Alesteir replied, "But I can see that we are indeed in agreement on that matter. In that case, while I'll have to leave the subsidizing matter over to Gildas, I can then agree to the document in a slightly modified form once the hyphen is properly in place."
