War in East Africa

The grand gates of the Mechodamian capitol, Sandoria

Grand Patriarch Pelee Shoustin cracked his burly knuckles and approached the podium. Flashes from cameras lit up the stage like a lightning storm, relentless and unforgiving.

"Today is a solemn day. The world has watched as the Nodic forces have invaded the Islamic States of Africa, or the ISoA. Not too long ago they publicly executed a world leader and has created ensuing chaos within the nation. Without justification or proper cause, they have led an expansionist front in the name of gluttony and avarice.

Tens of thousands of lives have been lost for what? An extra few miles of land and crumbled remains? Even the Rebel Army and Malokia agree with our sentiments. The Nodic actions are intolerable and cannot be withstood with content consciences. It is our moral obligation to prevent such atrocious actions of self-desire and lecherous vigilance.

It is unfortunate that NAPO refuses to take official military action to have prevented this. The ISoA did, indeed, revel in a state of chaotic anarchy due to its leader's absence. And now he is dead, and the nation is embroiled in war. Brothers, daughters, cousins, and fathers have all died for another penny in the bank. This ridiculous greed is not something that the UMS will tolerate next to its border.

Archon Mykep, the former benevolent ruler of The Republic, once told Lord Prefect Kilik that all he tried to do was strive for peace. If the Nodic leaders had pressed for the land in a diplomatic manner, we would not be here. But the fact that they have intended to advance and take over the lives of so many... they will be punished.

The Royal Mechodamian Military shall only advance against the invading positions and will avoid all Arabic housings. With valor and brevity they shall strike down these self-fulfilling men with an iron fist, revealing no merciful light in tactics and logic. However, I will make it clear now: to any Nodic men and women who hear this message... who see this message. Surrendering is not dishonorable. Our soldiers will not strike without mercy. If any enemy surrenders, they will be apprehended and detained by humane standards, and that is a promise all can hold me to.

Their gross and meticulous acts shall now go answered. On behalf of The United Mechodamian States, we hereby declare war on the Nodic terrorists. Our justice shall be swift and right..."

An uproar of the crowd ensued...

Invasion Map & Deployment Operations

Op1.jpg

Zala Front

•75,000 infantry

•800 armor

•Units will advance pre-designated pinpoints and will hold the northern lines. Assuming the Rebel Army enters, move south and converge into the Dashtin front. If Rebel Army does not enter, advance across the width of the ISoA and hold major freeways moving up and down the north center and major roadways entering Raochin.

•Aircraft within this front will hold air superiority and ensure safe strafing runs on enemy infantry and infrastructure with F-22s and F-35s.

Dashtin Front

•120,000 infantry

•2,000 armor

•Units will advance in a linear formation and retain any land gained. If Zala front converges, soldiers will push en masse Nodic units back into origin region. If not, Dashtin front will set up defensive positions just west of the Nodic region as a fall back point, leaving a small hump (hump points westward), adding leverage to the lines if need be. Unit will take brunt force so once other two fronts are in position, Dashtin Front will move into a convex formation and spearhead toward the Nodic territory.

•Aircraft within this front will hold air superiority and will drawn aircraft attention away from the Jeunoan Front. They will launch bombing and strafing runs with the FB-22s, F-22s, and F-35s. Moreover, as per the advance of infantry, MV-22 Ospreys (all 60) will drop an additional paratroop force in advanced positions. Note FB-22s are equipped with stealth.

Jeunoan Front

•95,950 infantry

•1,400 armor

•Unites will advance in a circular formation and clean up any forces in the south that have gone astray. They will then flank any unsuspecting forces in the middle regions. This force, however, will act in accordance to a pincer strike and flank the Nodic region, channeling forces into a narrower path.

•Aircraft consists of F-22 escorts and 12 X-47 Pegasus (stealth UAVs) will bomb major Nodic complexes and the main homeland to reduce troop morale.

Naval Front

•All naval units are to occupy waters in the Indian Ocean and Red Sea to prevent any possible transports between the Arabian peninsula and the African mainland. Moreover naval units will also be responsible for bombarding naval infrastructure.

Defensive Measures

+All fronts will be equipped with SAM missiles to prevent any rogue missiles from entering Mechodamian lands.

-->SAM missiles will also be responsible for protecting regiments as conclusively as possible

+All fronts will be equipped with antiaircraft artillery to reduce rogue planes from breaking aircraft security

+All fronts will be equipped with heavy artillery to bombard oncoming regiments and decimate future advance designated positions

+Aircraft is to enter territory first to destroy any surveillance aircraft, infrastructure, etc.

+Antiarmor measures have been taking with top-of-the-line weaponry with artillery and hand-held rocketry

FOR ALL OOC STUFF PLEASE TAKE IT OUTSIDE OF THIS THREAD. THIS IS AN IC WAR AND THE LAST THING NEEDED IS A BUNCH OF USELESS OOC. THANKS! (CAPSLOCK IS CRUISE CONTROL FOR AWESOMENESS!)

Military Movement: Classified

All aircraft are to advance over the border and destroy surveillance installations and aircraft. Operation Avenger commences now.

70% of all fighter aircraft flew across the UMS-ISoA border to begin their designated operations. Due to their speeds and stealth capabilities, however, detection would be minimal and safety optimal.

All ships began their trek toward the Straits of Gibraltar.

OOC: I know no OOC but this is a quick question, since i have over 300 tech, it'd be ridiculous if I can't RP some gunboats eh? A modern nation should be able to manufacture at least a few cruisers.

OOC: As a GM the rules are no IG navy, no CNRP navy. So, no gunboats. (also, a cruiser is one of the heaviest naval ships in the modern world)

The telecommunications link was reactivated - the topic of this conference would be the unfortunate developments in the West...

The screen crackled to life -

InnerCircle.jpg

- and the Executive Minister's Inner Circle started deliberations...

EM: We have developments on the Western front...Iago?

Iago (formerly the LP): Ok gentlemen, our sats have picked up a large force of UMS forces diverging on our North-West and western fronts... This is the reprisal force the Mechodamians had threatened to use...It is essentially a massive three-pronged attack...

Michaelson: Rest assured, minister, all forces have been alerted and defensive positions have been manned... Our forces should meet in a few hours at the projected rate...

EM: Dante, how fast can you regroup your airborne forces and join Michaelson on the Western front?

Dante: Sir, forces have been widthdrawn from the port city for the most part, there are significant forces there however to ensure the ports usage... All non-essential combat personnel and equipment are currently enroute to Addis Ababa via underground and will link up with the North-west in approximately one day...

Michaelson: Prong one, designated Hydra 1 (Zala) will be the first to engage our Northern Forces...however, our forces stationned there are heavily entrenched with covered AA and AT positions....We are currently aiming for a shoot n' scoot tactic, inflicting losses on our enemy while falling back, only to fire upon advancing enemies...We believe our 'Spangle' SAMs and 'Thrasher' SPAAG systems will be a sufficient counter to incoming guided ordinance and strafe runs...

Michaelson is terse looking, but looks like he is supressing something

EM: What else Michaelson, you seem to have something on your mind...

Michaelson: Sir, there is still a significant local population of civilians in the area... I need to airlift them out of the area ASAP...

Iago: Impossible! Their air-superiority is completely assured at this time! It is best to keep them in the area, to help suppress enemy moveme-

Michaelson *Interrupts*: I WILL NOT USE CIVILIANS AS A HUMAN SHIELD!

EM: Michaelson control yourself! Iago was not suggesting that... I think we all can agree that the UMS is not so reckless as to risk international attention to himself by slaughtering innocent civilians...however I will employ Ms. Wright's expertise in propaganda manipulation to help use the civilians to aid our cause - but first and foremost the civilians' well-being will be paramount, our forces stationned near population centers will be told to avoid actions that would cause collateral damage...however they will remain to hold the position.

Dante: I think we are forgetting about our allies...

EM: Yes, as stated previously during the Red Sands Accord, the Nation of Roachinn has ceased all oil deliveries to the West and North-west... The UMS' reserves surely cannot sustain their various mechanized units for long...

Vlad: I recommend strikes against UMS fuel reserves at once...

EM: Accepted, any and all avenues pertaining to them will be considered...

Dante: But what of their Nuclear Weapons?

EM: Again, the UMS will not use them, for they are rational, despite their misgivings about us...

Very well, have our stockpile of Ordinance aimed at the west...I want entire armoured columns to go up in smoke, regardless of the cost of the missiles...

Have all bridges and streets leading to our positions be booby-trapped and sabotaged. All our forces are free to engage the enemy at will...we will make them pay for every step in blood.

Brotherhood, Unity, Peace"

All: Peace Through Power!

All the deployed X-27 Pegasuses and Stealth FB-22's began dropped their payloads over recon positions throughout the northern, middle, and southern regions of the ISoA as a means to cut off as much communication as possible.

All ground forces were then promptly ordered to begin crossing the border.

Von Zuk looked over the maps-

Von Zuk: Zala Front, mostly dry flat lands, there is a location to the north that we could fortify in the meantime though... that might be a good place to push them back while they're still out of our territory. The flat lands around there will leave them with no cover. We can launch long range artillery on them from there... err... DARN it's all flat has table, I need more terrain to modify and work with.

Von Zak: Their forces are moving in with air-strikes.

Von Zuk: Well let's not leave them, hold our forces back towards the forested regions... we still aren't even close to the front lines yet, but it will take them a while as well. Have our forces set up camp for the evening near Goba of old Ethopia, the chances of ground forces making it there are slim so create an outer perimeter of tanks (10%) and an inner perimeter of high radar status and anti-air missiles, that will be half our army as our southern flank, move the northern armored division with the other half to the mountains in Northern Ethopia to do the same, with this kind of status we really need to organize our troops. Keep the ground trooops in movement and ask permission the organization of their status will set up soon. Von Zepplin! We need a report!

Von Zepplin: The defenses were already being set up in the Red Sea and if they come they'll face a party. Will you provide the necessaries Von Zak?

Von Zak: Of course, my toy planes can't fight this so I may as well swarm them were we can use home anti-air to gain air-superiority advantage. If the ships come into range they can expect a full volley from Aether Artillery, long range missiles, air strikes and our good old defense system.

Von Zepplin: Meanwhile I've had our spies move out, they're posing as refugees and will contact us via cellphone talking about that AMAZING thing they saw in the dessert when they find the enemy. It should help us grab some forward positions seeing as the enemy is trying to move an entire army in a flat dead region... we should practically know where every last man is.

Zarfef: ALRIGHT! Let's light 'em up as they come, As soon as we're closing in towards the front I want to see forward defensive bases up and running. We've only got 800 tanks so we have to boost the strength of our guys as much as possibile with infrastructure fortifications and heavy immobile weapons. Seeing as Raochin isn't currently in the direct combat, let's see if they can get us some more supplies. If things look as they seem now, we should be able to move in from the north and south and hit them up in one giant pincer. Their north flank seems rather weak. Maybe Raochin will take it in the meantime. And as soon as we're in range I want missiles raining down from forward fire-positions. Banshees should be covering their skies.

OOC: I'll clarify this shortly but... we can't move our forces too fast here, we are invading and attacking each other :P. Don't worry I'll give you some clear stats about how I'm using my forces shortly.

OOC: During the war Spacing and I have agreed to flesh out the backstories of the war by RPing individual Characters, which are subject to the normal RP rules...

Here is the first, Tank Commander Boris, an ex-Russian National employed within the NoN...

IC:

Boris.jpg

Boris was tired...his back ached from the cramped confines of his NDII 'Defender' Heavy Tank...

"How I wish I was back home with my beloved Hilda..." the war weary man had mused...

Boris and the rest of the Northern forces of the NoN were put on high alert, many of the younger militants were eager and filled with bloodlust - however, Boris learned long ago that it is 'better to live for a good cause, than to die for one'. He was one of the few less-than-enthusiastic members of the National military...

..."Jeremy left! Left! We have incoming fire!" Boris barked. He subsequently aimed his autocannon at an enemy M1A1 and let off a burst...

Success! The rounds impacted the target, although doing only rudimentary damage, the hits allowed Boris to compensate his turret's aim...

"Firing Cannon One!" Boris exclaimed before the report of his weapon made a loud thump. The whining the autoloading machinery made throughout the tank was deafening as inside the confines of the hull amplified internal mechanical noises.

The round impacted the side of the enemy, causing a rather large and unwarranted explosion...

"Enemy has ERA! I repeat Enemy has ERA!" Jeremy, the driver of the tank exclaimed, his eye on a pericope-like device...

"No matter, I have him now!" and with that the second cannon fired, launching a projectile straight into the breach caused by the first impact. The tank exploded, its interior visible and the hull clearly breached by the HEAT round...

"Next target!" Jeremy said, and with that the tank lumbered forward, its escorts following... With the good commander was a squad of overeager light infantry, who were cheering at the sight of the destroyed tank...

Boris sighted another Abrams flanked by opposing infantry, some of which were armed with portable Anti-tank launchers...

"Rev up the Grinder!" Boris commanded, albeit with great reservations - he was no sadist. A great roar soon developed, as the spinning death revved up faster and faster, until the sound was deafening...

"FORWARD! GUNNER, SUPPRESS THAT TANK!!" and with that, the top gunner, Luiz, launched his single shot 'Stabber' missile from the mounted machine gun... the missile streamed out from the top of the Tank and too close to outmaneuver, the enemy Abrams was hit, but not before firing a shot off...

The missile impacted, with another conspicuous explosion, however, shortly after another muffled detonation could be heard, then another. The enemy turret imploded, its turret leaping off its body, before toppling over the now dead tank, which continued to roll forward to the left...

An audible thud was heard at the front of the tank, which shook the occupants of the Defender and rattled Boris' teeth. He shouted to the Gunner, "Damage?"

"None sir, the RORS II successfully deflected the round upwards!"

"Thank god," Boris muttered, "Forward full-speed, scatter those infantry, do not let them form up!" Boris counted on the competency of the ISoA forces and their wills to remain in one discernable piece. He did not want to have to clean up another mess...

The Defender went up and then over the small hill, with the infantry running for their lives, Boris' escort ran behind, firing their weapons at the fleeing enemies...

However, one unlucky ISoA soldier, manning an Anti-tank launcher stood firm, launching a rocket at the spinning drum. The round naturally deflected, and he was unable to get up and escape. A horrifying sound of tearing bone and flesh resounded through the city block, and bits and pieces of gore were strewn about. Ignoring this, the Defender continued down into the dirt, although the decline of the hill ended. Boris was setting up an AH-DM position... huge amounts of dirt and asphalt were kicked infront of the tank. Luiz frantically secured his weapon into the hull slot, and then himself entered the tanks hull, sputtering dirt and muttering about how the other crew members should have told him first...

The tank fired, again and again, with several shots being fired at his position in return - however, time and time again, the simple AH-DM successfully absorbed each and every direct hit. As the co-axial autocannon was re-engaged, with fire control delegated to Luiz, several MILAC-27 Ravagers flew over their position, the deafening sounds of their rotors and launching rockets combined with the small arms fire from his support filled the night with flashes and bangs - the whole connundrum converging and sounding like a grand orchestra of explosions and cracking...

...a loud boom awoke Boris, who had fallen asleep.

The Mechodamians are coming!

OOC: Ok here will be the second and final post for tonight from me, as I am heading off after a bit... try not to do anything too important while im afk....

My main focus is not on winning the war, but making it as detailed and entertaining as possible, narratives I have about the Inner circle will be seperate from the stories from the front... I'm going for the whole "characters do not know the greater scheme of things from the military style" ie: No Independence Day war room knowledge being divulged to the reader when reading my chars posts a la Cloverfield, War of the Worlds or 28 Days Later... while having those missing war room knowledge in the Inner circle posts...

IC:

Jannus.jpg

...Janus Oshibutu looked up, seeing the streaking flames from NoN cruise missiles in the sky rush toward the distance through his NBC Light Infantry Armour's goggles. Janus was a large figure, a former track runner-turned-militant of native Ethiopian descent.

Janus' grip on the handle of his NMI 'Torrent' Machine gun tightened and untightened repeatedly, the African preparing himself - he overheard word of an impending invasion and was unafraid, looking off in the distance to see some missiles impacting the surface, with no discernable effects from his position (ie, he cant see the damage caused) and seeing others prematurely detonate under the slashes the far away anti missile systems of the UMS made across the night sky, Janus continued to stare, and his mind wandered...

..."Hurry up! I want that Torrent spewing at the enemy NOW!"

Janus ran across the dune, bullets whizzing past him, others impacting the sands near his feet... Janus zig-zagged until he reached the entrenched sandbag position his leader specified. Janus hunkered down, released the catch on his gun and opened fire. The vicious gun started spewing the 9mm slugs at a phenomenal rate, the kick of the weapon pushing the butt of the machine gun harder and harder into his shoulder.

Gunner.jpg

Over the noise of the gun, Janus looked over and noticed a figure, hunched over and rushing towards the position - it was Mertens, his white friend and fellow crew member.

"Sorry I'm late!" Mertens yelled over the raucous. And with that he jumped into the trench, chambering a round in his shotgun and started blasting.

Janus did not reply, his undivided attention being focused on the targets infront of him. Advancing ISoA troopers were mowed down, the rounds from the 'Torrent' were powerful and had a devastating result on the enemy.

A trooper rushed forwards, a inaudible battle cry was suddenly silenced with a yelp as Janus fired a burst at his direction - a round had impacted his shin, sending his right leg sprawling behind him, the trooper wide-eyed and on his knees.

Janus grimaced, and fired another burst, which hit his shoulder and abdomen - bits of bloody pulp spewing behind him. Horrifically, the trooper was still alive, the rounds overpenetrating his light armour and their stopping power wasted. He managed to lift an arm and looked desperately at Janus, as if imploring Janus to let him keep his life.

"Come on!" Janus yelled in a disgusted frustration and let off another, merciful burst. These rounds impacted the man's hand, ripping it apart and also perforated his skull, ending his painful existence immediately.

Janus looked to the left, an enemy trooper was felled by incoming fire and was motioning for help.

Janus fired bursts at troopers to the right, as if to show that his attention was elsewhere... The trooper looked at Janus and noticing his attention elsewhere, started frantically waving his hand. Janus knew his ploy worked, and aimed the weapon at the man...

Three soldiers came around the corner, and gathered around the fallen soldier. As they tried lifting him up, one of the men looked up and noticed Janus' aim. The man promptly dropped his comrade and made a break for it - Janus filled the coward with lead, and then fired a long, three second burst at the mass of huddled men.

Impacts were seen all over their bodies - one was decapitated by the Torrent, while the others fell immediately, ceasing movement.

Mertens' shotgun rang out, gain and again, the periodic fire from the Torrent sometimes drowning out the other sounds of the pitched battle their Cabal was in...

...suddenly, the Torrent ceased for several seconds.... Janus had bent over into the trench, reloading his weapon. Mertens averted his gaze and saw the man before he heard him - he was coming straight at them, his bayonet flashing wickedly in the Desert sun...

The man fired a burst, causing Mertens to swear and take cover, but not before firing a blast from his shotgun.

Mertens rose again to see what had happened, and the man leaped over the sandbags, and on top of Mertens. Both were engaged in a frantic fist fight on the ground of the trench, their bodies scattering the shell casings of Janus' weapon.

Janus looked around and saw an Entrenching Tool stuck in the sand. He promptly pulled it out and shoved the enemy off of his friend. As several of the man's compatriots tried the same move only to be felled by other National forces, the intruder looked into Janus' eyes...

The man was young, possibly 18 or 19 and his eyes were red, tears streaming down his cheeks. He fumbled for his sidearm... Janus hesitated and then struck out with the sharpened blade of the shovel, connecting with the boy's temple and slicing clean across the skull. As Janus took cover again and resumed firing, Mertens looked down at the boy's severed skull, swore to himself, shook his head and resumed firing...

...Janus' wandering thoughts were interrupted by a loud Air Raid Klaxon, the bright afternoon of the previous day changing back to the night of the present...

There were two major groups making a defensive initiative against Somal, an armored task force mounted by Nod and an Aether Southern flank force occupying the Ethopian forests taking up a rear position to those of Nod. Nod had a small dispatch of paratroops near the Aether Border which the Aether was helping them clean out and would likely be done by now except a small few points of resistance here and there.

The forces under command of Von Zuk provided the fascinating details according to his fateful decision earlier:

The still building forces were just setting up their defensive perimeters, but the fateful order to deploy to air attack and surveillance mode made the difference. Somal forces, as they crossed the border would find their radar world lit up from the forested mountain tops and reports flew faster then planes as word reached Von Zak.

Von Zak: Yes. This is Von Zak, I know we're at war, but do you HAVE to bother me when I'm with my fans? Eh...

Von Zak: Alright ladies, I'll see. YOU. later! What is it. What?! I thought we were acting to defuse that bomb. Alright, we're deploying to our squads, it seems Nod will have to hold out a little more on the western front for our FULL arrival. Let's bring it to this guy first. Request fire control from Nod and get the missiles hot on all War Tzars. I've just texted the message over to to our allies and hopefully we'll have some powerful air-support soon to cut them off.

Von Zuk: Output delivery of segments, we need to move on Somal with our southern flank. When we get permission, they should see the fourth of July. Aether Style. In the meantime, fortifications were finished.

The two fronts were engaged into the following manners.

Aether Defense force

25,000 soldiers

200 War Tzar tanks

-1,200 soldiers were deployed in twin squads per tank and guarded the mountain riddled region of the Aether Empire roughly

-18,800 soldiers were placed into units of five squads and given orders for creating defensive emplacements in the mountains and caves and to mine the regions with remote detonated IEDs. They were to engage in organized swarm and insurgent style combat when the enemy arrived, striking from their defended posts. The posts were outfitted with sand-bag emplacements, heavy gun racks and anti-air and tank rocket launchers. SAM sites were being set up at many of these locations and traps and large gun emplacements were being put up in rapid time.

Given that each unit contained roughly 30 men, there were about 626 such emplacements in the region, all were being quickly outfitted by Aether logistics and air-borne supply drops with all the essentials they needed to form a highly defensive position within the mountains and forests in the region. Each unit would form five supporting emplacements using the terrain to their advantage. One for observation and support fire, Three forward higher side cliff (iff possible) or hidden locations with larger machine gun and anti-tank weapons and two rear support systems with anti-infantry and anti-air support capacity.

Roughly 80% of the tanks units were located on the southern end of the Red Sea and 20% on the North of this contingent, but roughly 40% of the squads were in the north.

To the south, the remaining 5000 soldiers were placed into 1000 five man squads, with two anti-air soldier, one binoculars radio guy and two machine gun/sniper soldiers. These were Aether Recon and were patrolling slowly with no defensive status other then the terrain, but were well camoflagued and set for infrared marking and observation for coordinating attacks instead. They covered large amounts of territory outside of the main Aether Territory and were now particularly observing the Somal Coasts after word via radio came down of some odd images on RADAR. (No reports were yet confirmed).

Aether Northern Flank

37,500 soldiers

280 War Tzar tanks

20 Incapacitators

-3,360 soldiers were deployed in twin squads per tank to guard the forest region, they are mostly armed with machine guns and 2 anti-air or 2 anti-tank soldiers per squad (depending on alternative gun emplacement setup)

-27310 soldiers were placed into units of five squads and given orders for creating defensive emplacements in the mountains and caves and to mine the regions with remote detonated IEDs.

Given that each unit contained roughly 30 men, so there will soon be roughly 910 of these emplacements in the region, all were being quickly outfitted by Aether logistics and air-borne supply drops with all the essentials they needed to form a highly defensive position within the mountains and forests in the region. Each unit would form five supporting emplacements using the terrain to their advantage.

-Units in the rear would take up priority to air-support and immobile gun placement support (3 of these) with two front anti-infantry support units. They form a pentagon with the gun units to the front if not terrain advantages can be found.

-Units towards the front would form three anti-infantry units in the front aspect and two anti-tank/anti-helicopter missile support units to the rear. Tanks units follow these before the final units to ensure that the enemy is slowed down by infantry support first. Rear based anti-air units and artillery mode War-Tzars are even further behind these positions as their range is highly advanced and generators or power are requested from the local power if in defensive status to enhance long range shots without the need for charging an incapacitator.

In front of these patrolling the region and sighting out the path ahead (along with directing long range artillery shots) the remaining soldiers were placed into 1366 five man squads, with two anti-air soldiers, one binoculars radio guy and two machine gun/sniper soldiers.

Aether Southern Flank

(Same as Northern flank but utilizing their defenses in a forested defense region rather then mountainous north (north is expecting combat in the mountains, south the forests of the region)). Paint is available along with two camouflage net types if this situation need change.

As the air-bombers of Somalia Approached it was the southern flank which would open fire... The War Tzars in the rear would provide long range support and focuss on larger RADAR spikes (IE potential bombers and paratrooper drop planes). When the word came the missiles lit up into the skies from their defensive positions. If they were lucky the enemy would come into the forests to play from the skies on the less then thick but constant enemy presence. Then shorter range anti-air units in the back half of the defensive lines could cover them in a barrage of hundreds of anti-air missiles and AA gun fire.

The front lines of the Nation of Nod would have to hold out in the meantime to their west while air-support was being thinned. Aether jets also scrambled on the targets and began striking supply locations in Northern Somalia. The two main cities in Somalia also gained a nice surprise as two EMP type cruise missiles flew over-head and fried electronics within at a dastardly pace. *Apparently launched from the Northern Aether Empire

However, other then air-targets moving in, no explosive ordnances were used yet although the possibility of their use, especially against military targets was a high priority.

EDIT: The war Tzars around the Aether Empire are set to anti-air mode at the moment and localized radar is used to pick up enemy planes from the lair setup of Zarfef.

To the north and south, those War Tzars that are in ground attack mode have their secondary guns set to anti-infantry machine guns and their main gun unit set to a turret. They are alternate modes of fire and the machine gun setup on either tread rotates back and forth in a sinusoidal manner according to the pressure applied by the gunner (Stronger is a smaller range at the given angle with one fire control on each side of the control). Anti-air use satellites for their secondary at the moment on one tread and machine guns on the secondary, with a primary tank setup of AA long range SAM missiles). Radar stations have machine gun secondaries and a full RADAR dish for the primary with pulsed RADAR being supplied for powerful long range scans via incapacitators which provide the extra boost in power.

While the public execution was brutal and probably uncalled-for, we have no doubt that Nod was acting in such a way as to attempt preserve their own security when they invaded and captured the President.

Perhaps the president even deserved to be executed--we cannot know. But he was the physical embodiment of their enemy at the time.

Military Movements

•All deployed forces are now considerably deep into ISoA territory...

•Missiles are on extra-super-extreme high alert and are ready to be launched

•Communication installations have been wiped out with stealth bombers

•Navy is now pressing through the middle of the Medditerranean

To Lavo:

Dear Rebel Army,

We request permission to send our navy through the Suez Canal to attack the Nodic menace, and subsequently we ask permission to use the canal a second time to bring the navy back through. A timely response would be most appreciative.

Sincerely,

Grand Patriarch Pelee Shoustin

OOC: I just remembered something...I potentially have a way to interact in this RP.

I apologize for the OOC, but Firestorm, how classified was your mobilization in Northern Somal?

OOC: Most of the divisions in the north were finishing up my military exercise titled Sudden Death. They were already there in force and preparing to return to their home bases which made it easy to point them west and say, "Shoot em all".

M'Bossa

Sally, a precocious twelve year old girl, taps on her radio. It is making a dreadful racket and she isn't at all sure what's wrong. Just a few moments ago she noticed a buzzing noise in the air and her radio started blaring static. She runs to her mother and says, "Momma, my radio isn't acting right."

"Now dear, I wouldn't worry yourself about it."

"But momma," replies Sally as her radio returns to normal.

"See, it is all better now."

AWACs Planes Over Somal

"Did you get the take off location of the Aether planes?"

"We believe we did, sir."

"Transmit the coordinates to the 201st Rocket Brigade."

201st Rocket Brigade

"Coordinates recieved sir," says Colonel Henry Thomas.

"Fire when ready then," replies Major General Charles Sinclair.

Colonel Henry Thomas turns to an aide and says, "Transmit the following coordinates to our launch batteries. I want a full strike on these locations first. A full spread of ten high explosive armed cruise missiles each."

"That's the majority of our arsenal sir," replies the Aide.

"I'm aware of that, but it won't matter in the long run."

"Aye aye sir," replies the Aide.

Somal Launch Locations

Thirty cruise missiles ignite and leave their launch cradles as they howl their way north in waves of ten. They fly their way nap of the earth and are targeting the three launch points as was thought to be detected by the Somal AWACs planes that are continuous air patrol over Somal.

105th Air Wing, Dedran

Having been warned of incoming planes they mount their Mig-35 fighters and take to the air. They are well armed with cannons and heat seeking missiles and long range radar guided missiles. The pilots have been training almost daily for this air superiority mission and are ready to prove their mettle against an armed foe. They climb to thirty thousand feet and get their vectors from the AWACs planes who watched the Aether Empire planes take off farther north.

"Split up into elements of four and proceed along the following vectors," orders the AWACs Flight Operations Officer as he rattles off the assignments.

"Confirmed," the thirty Somal pilots sound off.

"Tally ho then boys," says the FOO.

"Tally Ho," the pilots reply as they home in on the Aether planes that are now just crossing the Somal frontier and launch their first wave of long range radar guided missiles.

A battle map for further clarification. And to clarify SKW, I based my decision for anti-air based off the forces from the North, as I didn't expect that they could mount a land invasion that would reach me in any time. I would have large amounts of active RADAR online in the region and if you compare the two maps for the invasion of ISoA and mine our two forces were already in the same area so I would have detected the bombing runs they were making on their forces as they came in. It was from foreign intelligence.

In fact, the order I described above would probobly be facing the western front instead of the East as it was being set up, so as of now I'm having to flip it around in order to push towards the east using the description oriented in the proper direction. All that would be required though is a flipping of squads and certain utilities as the bases would already be mostly set up.

So no, I don't have access to his reports of troops in the regions. Only to the fact that they were flying into our territory, and only with word from Nod would my forces open fire.

OOC: Sorry I missed it, but given a: a IG tech level of well below first world, and that b: no RP on the development or research of EMP has occurred, those EMP missiles suddenly go poof, don't exist.

Also, 51 tech will not make a stealthy propeller plane. Its not going to have any kind of reduced RCS

OOC: Prop planes, nah. I do a lot of tech trading and it would be awfully expensive for my tech to get any higher in game... so much so that it wouldn't make tech trading worth it (I have probably traded close to 500 or more tech by now!). I personally think that if I'm doing research for foreign countries I should be able to dip my hand a little into the knowledge well. I mean, knowledge is the only thing can be traded (other then MP3s) without losing money! :P That stated. I DO NOT HAVE PROP PLANES!

Proof:

Proof1.png

After all, I spent alot of time raiding those nations for all that juicy tech! (Operation Vulture) And I spent an extra 250k just to grab that final 10 tech needed for these cute little planes. And they already have a confirmed 49 kills to their name! (To 4 losses)

Also I'm launching attacks from my ground forces to the East on your air-force not with my fighter planes. That would be silly given that I would expect my fighter fleet to be wasted in a one-on-one battle with your planes... Ground attack units though seem to be a bit more resilient which is why terrorists use ground forces to strike our helos and what not and not a real air-force... but yes, they can do bombing runs and seeing as we border each other... they should be there almost as soon as they take off O_O. I Love the RPing though, I look forward to more fun!
