Subtleknifewielder
So long as the nation is subordinate to the PRC military we see no way that they cannot simply wait till after the observers leave to return to heavy handed tactics, or slowly but surely reinstitute control. There have been instances in the past of allowing free elections but the foreign military still exercises control. We believe that the best solution is a return to the status quo protectorates which allow for independence but stability as well. This is the only way to guarantee this is not an outright annexation and subjugation now and in the future. As for ethnic cleansing, ethnic cleansing is unacceptable under any circumstances and always will be. Trying to justify it is laughable at best, horrifying at worst.
Except they have not. They tried a policy of expelling non-chinese...and it backfired on them before they rescinded it. As for the observers, if you are truly that concerned about it, and the PRC has nothing to hide, then the observers can remain there indefinitely. OOC: And the argument about Rorschach is ridiculous. I doubt that's his REAL name--since he is masked, it's probably a code name. Use common sense, 'k? Thnx, bai. Silhouette
OOC: First off, China is a region, as well as a people, so the argument based around Keshav not RPing a Chinese nation is BS. Is he or is he not based in China? Second, Triyun, your leader is called Chairman X, you are the last person who should be making an argument about the name Rorsarch. Finally, Who is to say the name couldn't have been passed down from an uncle or something like that, perhaps there was European influence or something To cut a long story short, stop !@#$%*ing and let keshav get on with rping his nation, people have done a lot worse, so stop clutchjing at straws. Triyun
OOC: I think most sinologists would argue that China is much more of a homogenous country rather than geographic region in the mold of say Europe or India. The letters used with my characters are similar to those used in Bond movies, I thought that'd be pretty obvious. I would argue its somewhat less obvious in Keshav's case due to having a caucasian Prime Minister until last week. Anyway, if people disagree with our criticism please challenge them ICly. My people speak mandarin chinese, so did Merger's Chinese Empire. If Keshav has changed the populations language the USC which if you've read our RPs is extremely pro-Chinese culture, they are going to raise a fuss about that. Its fully in our IC rights. IC: Too clarify, if any national group requests independence in South East Asia the People's Republic shall grant it?

Sir Keshav IV
*Super Duper Private* The test launch for the Advanced Extremely High Frequency Satellites were successful. This system will provide connectivity across the spectrum of mission areas, including land, air and naval warfare; special operations; strategic nuclear operations; strategic defense; theater missile defense; and space operations and intelligence. The AEHF system consists of four satellites being launched into orbit which would give a coverage of earth between 65 Degree north latitude to 65 Degree South Latitude. The first satellite is to be launched within the next week and as such the next three will be launched by the end of the year when the system will begin operations. This system will also come under the command of the Strategic Defense Commission which looks after all military satellites. Sir Keshav IV
Free Press introduced The Chinese Government after long consideration has finally passed the law to allow a free press in China. Following which Rebel Army Broadcasting Network set up offices all over the nation. RABN being the only private press in China currently seems to be a big thing already. The people are rather happy with this law, and the policy of the new government for free speech. The new Premier Bai Ling has is pleased that this law was passed. Sticking to her policy of making China a strong free nation, that works for global peace instead of the aggressive attitude of the old government has also introduced tax reduction laws. She also wants to free China from the strangle hold of the extremists in the Communist Party. Following this announcement, there were few scuffles breaking out in the extremist strongholds in China but nothing major.

Sir Keshav IV
PLA Army deployments cut down Yearly usually 350,000 troops are deployed at all times in China. This for security reasons. As such with no firm threat the government has decided to reduce it to 200,000. By 2025 the government wishes to bring it down to a 100,000. It was decided by the new Premier to lessen the amount of deployed soldiers to cut down the paranoia of the population. The PLA has been a strong pillar in PRC history but to move forward the Premier decided it would be best to lay off troops. The government also is in discussion for decommissioning Nuclear Weapons as well. The government has decided to demilitarize to allow trade and commerce flourish in China instead of the constant fear of the military. This will certainly help improve commerce between Japan and China, and ease tensions that have long existed between us.' - Minori Chihara Minister of Defense
