    The seizure or defense of advanced naval bases and other land operations to support military campaigns;
    The development of tactics, technique, and equipment used by amphibious landing forces in coordination with the Army and Air Force; and

The Marine Corps fulfills a vital role in national security as an amphibious, expeditionary, air-ground combined arms task force, capable of forcible entry from the air, land, and sea. It is capable of asymmetric warfare with conventional, irregular, and hybrid forces.

President Adriano Marcellino has ordered Task Force 101 to the Strait of Gibralter. Task Force 202 has also been ordered to the to retain control over the Mediterranean Sea. The Third Fleet would be ordered to take position in the Adriatic Sea. Ten Infantry Divisions would also mobilize o the northern Italian border, but would wait for further instructions.

President Adriano Marcellino has ordered five Infantry Divisions and two Armored Divisions to annex the Swiss lands into the Republic of Italy in order to restore law and order. Once the Swiss state has been put under Italian control, Italy's main priority would be restoring necessary electrical power, rebuilding infrastructure, and implementing law enforcement officers all across the new territory. Elections would be held to erect a regional parliament and governor.

After the Italian Army successfully annexed the majority of Swiss land, parliamentary and gubernatorial elections would be held. Mr. John Gurelli of the Swiss People's Party is considered the front runner. It is a national conservative and right-wing populist political party in Switzerland. Furthermore, the party promotes the principle of individual responsibility and is skeptical toward any expansion of governmental services. And the rejection of military involvement abroad, and the rejection of increases in government spending on social welfare and education. The emphasis of the party's policies lie in foreign policy, immigration and homeland security policy as well as tax and social welfare policy. Among political opponents, the SVP has gained a reputation as a party that maintains a hard-line stance. Mr. Christian Levrat of the Social Democratic Party is close behind in the polls, however the party is the left-most with representatives in the Swiss Parliament. The SP supports classical social democratic policies. To that rule, the SP stands for a government offering strong public services. The SP is against far-reaching economic liberalism, in favor of social progressivism, environmental policy with climate change mitigation, for an open foreign policy, and a national security policy based on pacifism. Both contestants believe that the disputed region of Switzerland with France should be dealt with diplomatically and that annexing it through direct military action is wrong.

The Italian Senate today has held a VoNC against Prime Minister Giovanni Sarno. The Italian Chamber of Deputies has impeached all members of Sarno's cabinet except for the Foreign and Defense Ministers. The Senate has held a trial against the former ministers for failing to conduct their duties in a timely and efficient manner, and found them all guilty. Chief Justice Marisa Tricarico has ordered the former ministers to pay retributions ranging from $500,000 to $5.5 million to the national government. Only Minister of Agriculture Dalila Voci has been sentenced to jail for corruption and money laundering charges. President Adriano Marcellino has held a confidential meeting with Senate and Chamber leadership to discuss the future of Italy's government. With the rising tensions over the Suez canal and increased annexations by nations all around the world, the need to proactively protect Italy's economic, political, and military interests is great.

 

The final decision for the reformation of the national government has been submitted to both houses of Parliament and have been adopted. President Adriano Marcellino has been named Grand Chancellor. The Grand Chancellor is both the head of government and head of state. The executive branch will only three main departments: Interior, Exterior, and Defense. Italian Navy Rescues 282 Migrants in Mediterranean

 

The  Navy rescued 282 people from six small vessels in the Mediterranean Sea after one of the boats began to sink, the military said. Five of the rescued were medically evacuated to nearby Sicily, and the remaining 277 people were transferred to INS New Hope, an aircraft carrier. Frigate INS Gladiator and destroyer INS Freedom received a call from an Italian military marine patrol aircraft, which spotted the sinking boat and five others, the Navy said.

 

The Gladiator launched two helicopters, which found a sinking boat and deployed swimmers to extract people from the water, the Navy said. The Freedom sent two of its own smaller watercraft to assist. The 282 people were brought aboard the the two ships and additional Coast Guard vessels. Both warships provided them with food, water, medicine and sleeping blankets. Men, women and children often overcrowd unseaworthy or badly equipped boats to make the journey, which sometimes result in deadly shipwrecks.

 

Since the Italian government has instituted new reforms throughout all government agencies and branches to end imperialism, the Italian navy now has more resources to deal with growing humanitarian concerns across the Mediterranean. Several lawmakers in Rome however expressed their concern of whether the Navy had enough ships to handle the crisis and questioned the decommissioning of dozens of warships.
