  1. If you actually knew Monos Archein like most of her allies do, I'd think you'd take back the 'insignificant alliance' remark. But then again, I'm insignificant too, not managing to make 2 million in 3 days, like NSO, or have the political draw of Pacifica. My understanding of the situation is Kait didn't undertake this cancellation lightly and it was a removal of relations between the two parties. Whether lines were drawn, calligraphed or needed to be prompted is up to CN's abundant imagination. (As if anyone could stop you!) I think it shows definite courage to say when something's not worked and it's time for a change versus hiding behind platitudes of treaties that have lost their meaning. We see enough of that, these days.
  2. We at Apocalypse support our long time allies at Monos Archein. It is hard to cancel any treaty, particularly with an alliance as well-placed as Pacifica, but knowing Kait as well as I do, I know she did it for all the right reasons for her alliance. It is sad to see two (three, if you count the PIAT) quality alliances go their separate ways. If you need anything, Kait, you know who to query.
  3. First off, if this is true, well, wow. Secondly, even if it is true, this is a little undiplomatic to be posting here. And when I mean 'little undiplomatic', I mean 'ragingly glaringly probably what you shouldn't do.' Private channels FTW? Good luck to all parties.
  4. In the beginning, we didn't quite know what to talk about. The End of the World and futbol? I mean, seriously now.... Then we realized the fun is in the betting, like every sporting event. That's why, as Emperor of Apocalypse, we are happy to announce a PIAT with 1TF, the... tl; dr: This is my briefest post yet. READ IT!
  5. Congrats to the Gramlins for keeping me up at night. And Chill, you never write anymore. =p
  6. Ghostlin hands Freak Safari a shovel. Keep digging, you might fall off the other side of Bob soon. Either engage in politics or don't, but trying to be cute is not the way to do this.
  7. This is one of those instances that saying this is the only thing that's safe: Congrats ARES on the new protectorate.
  8. Apocalypse will sign, even though we've particularly outlawed it in our charter. Ghostlin, Wolf Emperor of Apocalypse
  9. Humility is something that should be displayed by more nation and alliance leaders more often. It is a better man who is willing to be humble for diplomacy then to fire bullets to prove a point. The apology is classy and so was the accepting of it. As for the folks who seem to cast Xiphosis as some kind of villain: you sorta asked what he meant, when he told you his perception of things, you jumped his gullet. If he offends you so, perhaps you should ignore him? You're certainly not here to listen to his point of view or whatever wisdom he might offer about the way you are perceived. His comment could of gone unmarked, but yet, you decided you absolutely must listen to more. It would be like me listening to Britney's Spears greatest hits. I know I'm not going to like what I'm going to listen to, so I'm going to turn off the damn CD, not push the headphones closer to my ears and scream bloody murder while the music is playing. And yet, a lot of people do exactly the opposite, besides the sane thing which would be 'Gee, I think he doesn't like us.' Congrats to all parties for your peace and not pulling all of your hair out collectively.
  10. This is an honor, unexpected, and in some ways, I feel undeserved. TSI and Apocalypse are both alliances founded by excellent people who just wanted a second chance at things, when things seemed to not work out. Our friendship has budded out of this. I have nothing but great respect for the government and members of TSI, and are glad to call them treaty partners. You've been an inspiration and the fact you made this milestone before me is unsurprising. Congrats.
  11. There's a saying that bad PR is better than no PR. If that is the case, GGA is doing infinitely better than the amount of silence they had before this thread. I try not pay particular attention towards GGA, being a non-entity in my day to day doings as an alliance leader (I usually have other things on my mind than the general welfare of the Green Sphere) but I have to admit this has the best trappings of a story ever: betrayal, corruption, power, greed, deceit, innocence, even ignorance. All it's missing is a pivotal love story, and we've got the great Planet Bob novel here on CN in this thread. I can only say, wow, just wow...GGA, I don't think you will ever be forgotten for this.
  12. Null vote. I found this disgusting when RAD did it but they were my allies at the time, and I figured public censure would be inappropriate, and this is unbecoming for anyone for any reason. I find it a tad more disgusting that ZI was brought up for a 'prize' instead of a punishment. This is like belching at a summit than picking your own bottom.
  13. Do we have to go through this every time a police action is declared? Many large alliances have the goal of their smaller members not being smaller much longer. There are, unfortunately, a number of smaller members in smaller alliances, so the large alliances contract out in an attempt to teach a lesson. We, the smaller alliances, often like this because our members can get a feel for war experience. This isn't sketchy or anything, this is cheating an alliance out of money, an alliance who is a very good friend of ours, and you all know you wouldn't tolerate it if someone was doing it to one of your allies.
  14. TTK, you've managed to get the best of the best. Don't let MA down. Congrats. o/MA o/TTK
  15. To the first alliance that greeted us on Black and our crazy Farkers: congrats. And the next round is on Apocalypse. o/FARK o/Umbrella
  16. We're thrilled to be a part of this. All of the alliances involved are crazy, which makes this work. Since Hoo's left the umbrella of these alliances, however, no gerbils were harmed. o/Teen Titans o/ARES, a great bunch of folks and selfishly, o/US!
  17. Farkistan is full of discerning gentlemen and ladies that know what's good. Congrats to them and to us. Oh, and they play a damn mean game of Dungeons and Dragons...
  18. There are very few folks who have worked as hard and deserve this more, if any. Congrats to Monos Archein, champagne's on me, and to many many more.
  19. As an alliance leader who thinks PZI and EZI are full of ...well, fail, I support this idea, even if it doesn't cover protection, ostracizing seems so..2006. Best of luck to the NSO and their endeavors.
  20. Hrm. While I don't disagree with the fact that the cause of the war is justified and that GGA can do it what it wants, it's almost a bleeding shame. With the right guidance (not from a You Tube video) and cultivation, many of these members of Jarheads could be productive, if they joined the right alliance and a useful addition to the nations of Planet Bob. Again, the NPO and GGA can do whatever they want, but PMing surrender terms (or "how do I get this to stop?") and encouraging them to go elsewhere and find their feet almost seems preferable than driving them off from their inexperience. Best of luck to all parties.
  21. Congrats to Fark, the Roman Catholic church and Beer. (Not necessarily in that order.)
  22. It's gratifying to see the culmination of this day. Apocalypse's goal, as outlined in our charter was to see Black Unity rise under one banner. That banner is NOIR. We're happy to have worked with everyone with this, and I'm just so happy to see how well we've succeeded. Thank you all for being, well, you.
  23. (First off, this'll be long. So I warn those of you who are tl;drs to skip to the end.) It's been one hell of a ride. Sometimes enjoyable, sometimes quite a fight, but to paraphrase a popular song, "I wouldn't have it any other way." We are so eternally grateful to all of our friends for this moment, but particularly: Ragnarok, our protector ARES Monos Archein Umbrella IPA RIA GOD OTF TSI ..and the rest of the Ragnablok. I would like to thank everyone from those alliances collectively for working with us and everyone who visits us regularly for being who you are and supporting us. So, to remind all of you of where we've been, I will unveil Apocalypse: A History. September 1st 2008: Apocalypse founds with less than 10 members, most of which are originally from Ragnarok. The original roster had three Horsemen, the Emperor, Bad Omen, Horsemen of Foreign Affairs, Ghostlin, and Horseman of Internal Affairs, Pomiel. This would be the command structure for a few months to come. Their protector is Ragnarok. Sept-October 2008: Apocalypse has its first run-in with another sovereign alliance over a member that left TGE over to Internal Affairs issues, which Apocalypse accepted as part of their processes. Even though sanctions are threatened on the member who left TGE, it is settled diplomatically due to the intercession of all other parties, and is never publicized except for a slight argument over the leaving of TGE’s Empress, Shurukian. -Apocalypse signs its first MDoAP at this time with its sister alliance, Eclipse. -Apocalypse signs TDO Declaration of Global Neutrality, and Dark Vows. Apocalypse continues commitment to Black Unity on the Black Conclave forums. -First elections happen in October. Mirin Kamar wins Minister of Finance, Incitatus wins Minister of Displince, and Pokeikon wins Minister of Education. November-December 2008: Pokeikon, a hard working member and the Minister of Education gets added as Horseman of War to the alliance line up. The alliance is about 12-17 members at this time, with a decent amount of growth. -Eclipse disbands. Apocalypse wishes the members that fold back into Rok luck. -Apocalypse reaches 250 K around this time, and announces a number of treaties: an MDP with IPA and GOD, a PIAT with RIA and an MDoAP with Monos Archein, and an ODAP with OTF. They also become a Ragnablok signatory, which replaces their old agreement with Rok. -Second elections happen in December: Yuurei wins Minister of Finance, Incitatus wins a second term of Minister of Displince, and Salacious Crumb wins Minister of Recruitment. December 26th, 2008: Apocalypse reaches the peak of 19 members and 340,000 NS. Van Hoo III resigns as Rok Emperor, and Bad Omen resigns as well, asking the remaining Horsemen what they would like to do with the alliance. The Horsemen agree on a triumvirate, formed from Pomiel, Pokeikon and Ghostlin. January 2009: Members leave the alliance, making the December milestone the largest in Apocalypse’s history. Due to issues outside of his control, Pomiel resigns from government and from the alliance, going back to Ragnarok. Instead of filling the slot left by Pomiel, Poke and Ghostlin agree on an Imperial government with Ghostlin as Emperor, and Poke serving as HoW. Jewel and Yuurei are elevated to FA and IA, respectively. There are a number of charter amendments made at this time, including the deity announcement of Apocalypse. -The first of the reforms are made to the alliance, and debate is opened to the alliance about possible IA changes. Janurary-Feburary 2009: A number of members come and go in the alliance. The lowest member total being about 13 members. Apocalypse's current member count is 18 members with a rough total of 300,000 NS; but still an active and healthy alliance. -So far, Apocalypse has reformed their education and recruitment questionaires and has started a number of external tech deals for anyone willing to deal with Apocalypse outside of the alliance. They have continued their external commitments to the black spheres and diplomacy in general. Feburary 28th, 2009: Apocalypse realizes their dream of Black Unity with NOIR, with many other Black Alliances. March 1, 2009: Apocalypse turns six months old. Even with the low member count and the drama, members of Apocalypse are greatful to reach this mark that many other alliances haven't, and glad to make it to this day. The alliance also gets three recruits within the last 48 hours, and exceeds 300K NS, for the second time. Heart of Apocalypse Award The next order of business is to thank the individuals that have done the most for us. We have an award in Apocalypse who have sacrificed and risked for us, and as the Emperor, I have declared that both internal and external folks are eligible for the award. My nominations list was much longer before than after; my Horsemen and I did some selections and re-nominations and these were the folks I felt comfortable making the final cut. So, I present the Heart of Apocalypse Award to the following folks: Pokeikon, Apocalypse: Poke is one of the four founding members that have been with us since the very beginning and I expect will be with us until we are no more. His willingness and courage to do the right thing and even take a job he felt he wasn't entirely suited for is a strong example on what Apocalypse members should be and feel like. He's a humble Poke, so he probably won't toot his own horn and say he deserves this, but he truly does. Ghosty edit: Nice try, Poke. Poke Edit: Ghosty found my edit... Ghosty edit: Yes, yes I did. Ghostlin, Apocalypse:...I'm not presenting my own award here. My gov is, and since they all agreed upon it, I've inserted the following comments from them. Have at it, guys: Poke: Yes, we really did make him take this. Jewel and I tied him up, gagged him, and told him he was going to accept this award or face the horrible consequences. ... Still not sure why he accepted, I might've gone with the consequences if Jewel tied me up and gagged me, but that's not related. Anyway, back to Ghost. He's pretty much the most awesome person ever. <3 He's here for us when we need him, and made a few difficult transitions we've had in gov a little easier just by being here. We all love him, and I'm pretty sure we wouldn't be here today without him. Jewel: I think Poke has said most of what I wanted to say. Ghostlin has been the one keeping us together for the past 6 months. He is the most deserving recipient of this award. Yuurei: Agreed. If Ghostlin had not done the things he has done, Apocalypse might not be here today. Ensuring alliance survival is definitely deserving of this award. Van Hoo III, formerly of Ragnarok, now of Nemesis: Hoo is the reason why Apocalypse was permitted to get started, and he's supported us from step one, from allowing us to have a fair amount of latitude in our own decisions from allowing us to be in constant contact with him. While the current trium is responsible for the continutation of his work, it was Hoo who allowed the work to happen in the first place. Pomiel (King Pomi) formerly of Apocalypse, now of Ragnarok: Pomiel did an obsence amount of work before RL drove him away from us. There does not a day pass where I wonder what the hell I did wrong to lose such an awesome member. This award is almost obsenely posthumorous in it's presentation, but here it is. Mr. Calkin of Umbrella, Zerelious of Umbrella, Sceptor of Umbrella, Roquentian of Umbrella: From aid drops to recruiting help to tech deals, Umbrella has made us feel welcome and at home. They've been one of the leading voices of Unity, and I'm glad to present the first triumvir that Apocalypse encountered for their work for OUR alliance and our first diplomat with this award. KaitlinK of Monos Archein: Kaitlin deserves this award more times that I can count for picking us out of the muck and being there. She reminded us that while Omen was gone, we could continue with Apocalypse under a modified vision, and to make our vision our own. She's a polarizing figure to some of you, but a guardian angel to us. Shogun Tokugawa of The Sasori Intiative: This guy is like the puppy you can't get rid of. But seriously, Toku has shown a lot of support for us and did incredible diplomatic work for our PIAT with TSI, a great bunch of folks. His humor and willingness to share information with us has been instrumental in our relationship with his alliance. As of this day, March 1st, In the Year of our Admin and Pink, 2009, Apocalypse awards these folks with the Heart of Apocalypse medal: And, I, Ghostlin, Emperor of Apocalypse, confer the status of Honorary Member to the winners of the Heart of the Apocalypse. (Unless the winners are internal already. ) The other nominees for the Heart of Apocalypse award will recieve the Emperor's Award for Special Services: Chairman Hal of Rok rishnokopf of Rok TalisK of Rok FireGuy of IPA Empress Shurukian of TSI Clue Month in Apocalypse All that remains, then, is a party. And since I'm a sucker for parties, I figure a theme party will be suitable for the entire month of March, so I declare March: We will have games such as Clue Mafia, and Forum Clue and anything else that seems suitable, really. I am opening a special forum and our Foreign Visitor masks to ANYONE in Planet Bob who wants to be part of Apocalypse's big month long party (as long as they do not have a bad standing with us, that is). Our IRC will be flooded with Clue nicks (and the game is known as Cluedo in some areas). So, join in the fun, and we want to see everyone there! tl;dr: Apocalypse turns 6 months March 1. Thanks to everyone who made it possible. There is a Clue/Cluedo theme party on the boards and Apocalypse forums and Ghosty gave away awards. There was a history of Apocalypse that can be summarized with three P!nk songs: Apocalypse Joins CN: Bad Omen resigns (with Hoo ): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJmghwq7k2I...feature=channel And to all of the people who don't like us, our attitude today: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPO5y-sOJGc...feature=channel
  24. Happy birthday, GOD. May all of your birthdays be this good and relective. Love from Apocalypse.
  25. If ARES needs Apocalypse, all they need to do is call. As for hearing Rok doing this, no one on this forum should be surprised. Rok always supports all of her allies.
