  1. TGE will always be remembered for the people that left it and became more than the sum of their parts. In that, you've left a legacy in CN.
  2. Happy Birthday, Amazon Nation, happy birthday to you. When I was Emperor, you were one of my first friends. So much so that I chose you to be a retirement home: I miss the community, but the politics...not so much. Happy 2!
  3. Sure, why not. Although you might have to fight Jewels for it. Ditto. I will say Echelon was a much better adversary when you were handling relations. Not sure if that's what you were going for, but you made an excellent foil, m'dear. To the various 'don't go', 'you can't leave', etc...I'll miss you crazy kids. Even the ones I flamed.
  4. Hi, CN: To those of you who don't know me, ignore this post, ok? To those of you that do know me: for multiple reasons, but for the primary reason of it's just not fun anymore, I'm leaving Cyber Nations. Oh, and before someone posts 'they all come back', I may in fact do so. My interests can be somewhat cyclical, but it won't be for a while. I've gone back to something I enjoyed the first time around and...I've not been eager to login since the war. Really, typing this goodbye note is not hard, because I've never really promised the general CN community anything. It's been fun, we've had our share of laughs, and the only folks I'm sorry I'm leaving are a handful of folks I've left behind that aren't covered by my goodbye notice at MA. So I'll get to them right now: Hoo: Yeah, you left before me. Something tells me you'll probably see this. Thank you. You are one of the coolest leaders on CN, past, present, and future. To the folks at TDO, past and present: Remain cool. Do not roll over and let anyone dictate to you how to play this game. Continue to prove you deserve everything you got. There are just too many of you to really name here and I thought were cool, so you're getting a lumped dedication. I do apologize for that. Xiphosis: Stay cool, dude. Continue to fly nukes and slit throats for Teen Titans and Superfriends. Something tells me they'll need it. Alfred and Rish: Coming back to Ragnarok is one of the million things I've meant to do (like retiring in TDO) and I've never had the time. You guys are a great bunch, watch out for Monos Archein, and keep it together. Shuru and Toku: I should of signed that non-chaining MDP and let my allies deal. One of the the few things I regret. You guys are awesome and you're headed somewhere. If this is still fun to you, keep doing it. My best wishes (and I mean that). Fireguy: Thank you for being the shoulder I usually ranted all over. I think you kept things together more than you would like to admit. WickedJ: The best part of Fark. And Fark is a great, great alliance. Delta: All hail the Eperor of the Superfriends! Tobbs: You are awesome and whoever tells you different isn't worth your time. Stay cool. Kait: You are not half the scary monster those spin doctors would have you be, and I will be warmed by the thought that people like you exist here. I'm so sorry. That's all I can remember. I'm out, thanks. If you still want to chat me up, my email is solnac@gmail.com, my AIM is Solnac Relishan, and my yahoo is Finds_the_Dawn@ymail.com. Ghosty
  5. The irony in this statement is crushing. Soon I expect it to form it's own black holes. Best of luck to everyone involved.
  6. Congrats on your new beginning. I will be watching with interest.
  7. o/Rapture. It's really nice here in MA, and we're thrilled to have you.
  8. What will be of the NPO after this war? A defeated, probably angry alliance that is still quite large, but no longer holds the body politic. What kind of changes do you see the NPO will do after this war? Expect to see IO changes as folks get thrown under buses for the Karma failure. Unless there is a Pacifica uprising, however, Moo is safe. Will the NPO play a role on the next war? If so, in what capacity? If they do, it'll be in the capacity of divide and conquer. Will there be an alliance that is willing to sign a treaty with the NPO, If so, which ones? Odds are the ones that suffered most from Pacifica entering this war and sticking with them will remain the most loyal. However, NPO won't have a bloc except maybe to swing the next war. (See above.) Do you see any Karma alliance being allied with the NPO? If so, who and why? NPO will propose an alliance with one or more Karma alliances. I'm sure some will stick in a few months, probably in the six to nine month time frame when NPO is written off. Will the NPO seek vengeance? If so, which alliance(s)? Everyone. From Karma to the folks in Hegemony who bowed out early to leave NPO to their fate. Will the NPO disband? Probably not. Too much invested. Too much to live for, hatred is more powerful than loyalty when it comes to these things. Will there be a leadership change in the NPO? Some IOs will get thrown under buses. Expect their military command to change. Like, I said, barring an uprising (which I give a 5% chance of happening, tops) Moo's safe. Do you want to see a leadership change in the NPO? If so? Who do you want to lead it? Possibly, but I wonder if the attitude is too far gone for anyone to do any good. What kind of political influence the NPO have left towards the CN community? Do they still have any? Now, no, except with Hegemonists that have lost an equal amount. However, NPO has nothing but time if they take surrender terms, and the more harsh the terms, the more likely NPO will be left alone.
  9. I demand you close the Apocalypse and Aeon embassy. Welcome back to Planet Bob.
  10. Aeon is sorry to announce the cancellation of every treaty we hold. The reasons for this is all of our allies are secretly trying to take over CN in a cabal together. We're also moving to Maroon to turn it back into the Balkans, so we don't need NOIR anymore. Also, there is evidence that IPA tried to kill Jewel's cat, which is not something we can just let go. So, we've secretly declared war on SF and TT, and surrendered to MA. The terms of Aeon's surrender are: 1) Aeon admits that they are conquered completely by Monos Archein. 2) We must admit that KaitlinK does in fact, have a cuter demeanor than Echelon. 3) We change our AA to Monos Archein and become their cooperative tech farm. We have seven days to do this, and Monos Archein will protect any members of Aeon not changed over to the Monos Archein AA during this time. We expect that now NPO has nothing to complain about. I go to be Kait's loyal wolf, per secret term 4. Signed, Ghostlin, Wolf Catalyst of Aeon, Now Kait's Loyal Wolf Jewelangel, Rarely Angelic Guardian of the Exterior, Now Even More Naughty Cookie Girl Pokeikon (Loki) Guardian of the Interior, Wishes You Damn Kids Get Off Our Lawn tl;dr: Our tears, they were delicious. Also, Xiphosis for NPO Viceroy.
  11. Xiphosis for NPO viceroy. There is no other.
  12. I'm starting the Xiphosis for NPO Viceroy campaign. Who's with me?
  13. Congrats. You couldn't have a better bloc treaty or protectors.
  14. My point is that I don't think we're at the point where communication will help with surrender terms. It's not like they redressed this to Karma, they redressed it to the entire world like it's some kind of opinion poll. This breeds bad feelings. Bad feelings breed hate, which apparently breeds NSO members making comments like this in a twisted variant of the Dark Side of the Force. There's saying one thing and doing another. NPO is still playing the same PR game: 'Look, we've done what the world's wanted. Aren't our opponents EVIL now?!' It's like the monster argument writ larger.
  15. tl; dr: Karma and NPO still hate each other, and perhaps the terms shouldn't have been offered in the first place. Seriously, folks, if we're going to go on and on about these being the most heinous terms in history, and considering the past, who's surprised at it, maybe we shouldn't simply be having this discussion. I don't see an adequate counter offer from NPO, nor a simple admission that they might be defeated in this case.
  16. This statement is ironic. It's often been said getting folks to apologize in public makes them less sincere. More to the point, forced apologies. While I believe TKP and TGE will have better days, I still can't help but feel this could of been worked out in private by TGE going, 'you've been saying this, why?'. While it is a lack of communication on the part of the protected to feel you can't go to problems from your protector, when problems like this do arise, it is important to take criticism with grace, and not with public apologies. Best of luck to TGE and TKP. OOC: Thank you for the compliment on my sig line. Keep in mind sigs are considered out of character and this an IC forum. And the correct pronoun is he. There is a document floating around in the old forums that proves it.
  17. /me smacks WickedJ. Seriously, tho', it's a serious occasion, and OTF still has the respect of Aeon for being one of our first treaties when we were newer.
  18. Crossbowman being a government member of TGE, I take it? I thank you for doing what's necessary for your alliance. I just wish that it wasn't necessary. Best of luck to you and yours.
  19. I can appreciate your apologies, espically if it's one of one's treaty partners, but I still fail to see why an OWF apology is necessary in this case. Seriously, couldn't this be more accurately handled by going to TGE, apologizing to them on IRC, and then telling the folks you told the bad stuff about that you were frustrated? I mean, I do have this clause in all of my PIATs, but seriously, if you're frustrated with me and just come out and say it, I tend to understand. Best of luck to you and the Kingdom of Poland.
  20. As of 4:15 AM game time, Aeon has cancelled their ODAP with The OTF alliance, per article 5 of that treaty: We acknowledge the 48 hour cancellation period, and have contacted OTF both on IRC and their forums. As of June 16th, 4:15 AM, the OTF/Aeon ODAP will be officially cancelled (I'm just getting this out of the way now). We bear no grudges with OTF, and lack of communication between our governments that was not present when the treaty was first formed has evolved. We bear them no ill will and whenever OTF is ready, we are ready to continue future relations.
  21. I'm going to be thoughtful and academic here for a minute and ask, do you know the reasoning behind these terms? Studying CN history, there are two things that are working against NPO not getting lesser terms: 1) NPO, own up for a minute that some of the things you may have done in your dual impulse of self preservation and ensuring the world would dance to your tune has given the Karma alliances reason to dislike you. After all, a lot of them have served in alliances that were rolled at your behest, if not directly by you, and forced to serve Viceroy ships, humiliating disarms, eternal war, and yes, horrible reps. Do you feel any of the despair that you've forced on others? I can admit revenge can be a petty impulse, but when you are brought low in what must seem to some as a poetic bit of irony, how can you cry unfair when it's seen as a matter of equity? I mean, GOONS was considered to be some meanies, but history bears out that they were rolled for LESS than this. I'm not saying you should be an eternal tech farm or beaten down to the point where you must disband, but spending a nine months to a year in contemplation on how badly you've treated the rest of this world does in fact seem fair and reasonable. Now, the alliances that are fighting you must sorta decide how the best way to do that is, and expecting no reps or some very not large numbers just simply isn't going to happen. (If someone could show me the numbers of the reps and how'd that break down without the subject spin, I'd appreciate it.) 2) You lost Great War 1. The alliance called LUE let you off with a set of apologies and one resignation. You've done everything to crush anyone that disagrees with you while you were on top, including the alliances that represented the other side of the polarity multiple times. Karma does not want there to be a Karma War 2, and so far, you don't respond well to kindness citing that example. You created this wheel of suffering, and no one wants you back to recreate it. And so far, you've done nothing that doesn't imply you won't hunt us all down singularly for your revenge. What kind of guarantee would you promise us? Your word? I'm not sure that's good currency in these parts. So far, we've seen the examples of what happens with people who make pacts with Pacifica if Pacifica decides later that it was no longer convenient. It's not a matter of fear, even, it's that we don't trust you not abuse any chance we give you. There's what you have to overcome. And the standard PR move of feeding us what we've always wanted to see and then playing how Karma's continuing to be the bad guy doesn't float with a lot of CN veterans around here. If you had just announced the dissolution of the doctrine, I think this would of had a different tone and continued to work things out behind the scenes with the folks you've surrendered to. Right now, it seems that you're more interested in scoring PR points at the expense of the Karma alliances, which doesn't befriend you to them. And you'll need the friends when this is over.
  22. All I was talking about, quite honestly, was the fact that the USN threads draw drama, and that it's not unexpected of Maroon alliances to have the reaction they're having, and as a Maroon alliance, how this as an cancellation, is drawing flies like honey, or trolls like bridges. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a storm created by drama to evade.
  23. Hrmm...well, this is better than the storm from the sewers that I was expecting this to draw. I'll take sopping wet versus the smell any day of the week. If I have misspoke, I do apologize, and still wish the Brain luck.
