You are reading this at a time of great chaos in the world, unprecedented chaos in fact. In the past year or so, the Mushroom Kingdom and an assorted group of power hungry coattail-riding individuals have climbed foot on head over friend and foe alike to attain a level of influence and power in this world such that they can start wars of great magnitude with casual disregard for the justification of such actions, and any potential consequences. As it happens, the power to do this sort of thing isn't new. The CoaLUEtion of old had it, the Initiative of my formative time had it, and later BLEU, the Continuum and finally the coalition comprising the Superfriends and C&G commonly dubbed Supergrievances. All of us had the power to do what MK and their cohorts are doing right now – to attack those we felt posed a real threat to our standing in the world, but who a mob could easily be rallied around. However, none of the previous world hegemonies did what these individuals have decided in desperation to do. The Continuum, perhaps the last most egregious world dominant power, launched many wars on manufactured charges, and indeed nearly always against innocent parties utterly incapable of defending themselves. They made the pretense, though, and at the end of the day there were still members of that group asking what the point was – and capable of saying no. It's a small detail but it actually matters a great deal. When the leadership of Non Grata or the Mushroom Kingdom wish to do something completely uncalled for, and completely unreasonable, like start a World War on the same people they started one with five months ago – who tells them no? Who says those folks have already paid due whatever they may have owed for their sins? And who points out the hypocrisy of coconspirators executing the other coconspirators? Ardus, 1337, Arexes and others have taken great pains to level a multitude of charges over the past year against us, most ranging from the blatantly false to the cleverly disguised, well spun false. I'd like to level some back that I don't think are so easily refuted: [b]That[/b] the Mushroom Kingdom, Non Grata, and their allies have engaged in causeless wars with no real objective other than the fleeting personal amusement of their leaders and the worst elements of the mob they call a membership. Wars that do significant damage to many nations, inevitably lead to the loss of nations as rulers on all sides step out after damaging wars that no one can understand the reason for having, and that this tangibly leads to the further shrinkage and destruction of a world community that's shrinking and destroying itself pretty well without the Mushroom Kingdom throwing gasoline into the furnace to help it along. [b]That[/b] a concerted effort has been made by them to denigrate the level of professionalism and class with which the individuals on this game treat one another, both publicly and privately, because it's easier for them to swim in the muck than learn how to properly wear a suit and tie and say thank you. [b]That[/b] their effect has been well felt by all members of the community, and that bluntly speaking – no one, on any side, much appreciates what they're doing with the place. They attacked my allies. That makes this a pretty simple matter for me, and everyone knows what this thread is and what will go in the tl;dr at the bottom. Having said that, and contrary to what they wish you to believe, being silent is only a virtue of the blind or the stupid. The SuperFriends have outlasted every other bloc on this game by a couple magnitudes, and despite the fact that there are many good theories as to why that is I happen to actually know why it is because I've had the luxury of being inside the bloc and high up long enough to be able to see a pattern. We do what we can defend doing on the basis of our conscious – what's right by our friends, by our members, and ultimately by the community itself. There's been opportunities come and gone that would've given us a bit more power here, a bit more influence over x, y, z or would've given us more flexibility to do this or that – if we'd only compromise, or wait till the next time, or go apologize for something that didn't merit apology to individuals who themselves didn't merit apologizing to. The fact is, it's precisely that refusal to do things that betray our own code – that's why we're here. That's why Pandora's Box isn't. That's why Doomhouse won't be. And that's why we'll outlast these fleeting power mongers that are currently trying to ruin the furniture for good. The question we ask ourselves these days isn't whether we'll be able to recover from them – we look around and we wonder if the community can. Having said all that, and with great thanks to anyone who bothered to read it, it's time to actually act on the words. With no misunderstanding of the gravity of the act, and with great loathing of the alliance which has sought to lay ruin to our allies, the Global Order of Darkness declares war on Non Grata.
