  1. You don't need infra to send out money. It is true that your top tier nations are growing at this stage of the war, but if you have a mid-tier or lower tier set of nations they are likely being pulverized was the point Iyiyth was making.
  2. http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?/topic/114848-dbdc-doetreatydow/?hl=%2Bdoombird+%2Bdoomcave There was a DoE during Equilibrium war. Did any of you sign BIBO and actually pay the blood out? Or was that practice abolished as part of the terms of that war?
  3. Yes, the Mostly Harmless Alliance is fighting Kaskus. I was referring to myself and others that hold defensive treaties with the hitchhikers that have not activated said treaties even with three weeks of opportunity.
  4. I have been preoccupied with other targets and other fronts. But when my anarchy is over I am coming for you Kaskus in defense of the Mostly Harmless Alliance. I am a bit surprised that I am the first one to counter you guys as it has been a few weeks since your amusing declaration. Better late than never. Delusions of Grandeur is here.
  5. DT isn't in the war yet, so they are probably being tracked with whatever alliance they are ghosting. At least that is my understanding of the system when RIA mentions someone is 'added'.
  6. In past eras it was very common to jump off your AA so you could slip into peace mode or spoof the war stats as lost NS. This way surrendering nations and leaders with fluid AA are tracked with damage directly tied to the originating alliance of the nation. NS changes tied to damage are the only thing reflected in the stats. I believe this method was developed at the request of alliances like Non Grata who frequently practiced the fluid AA thing to get accurate data on their wars. Or it could have been enemies of Non Grata who wanted better tracking of nations. I don't know precisely, as I did not develop the system.
  7. Are your allies going to refrain from expanding their wars as well? Because if they declare wars on different targets after this point then they would open themselves to potential reprisals.
  8. They can do exactly that unless someone decides to stop them.
  9. The declaration of war against the Grand Lodge of Freemasons happened in another thread. The reasoning is provided Page 7 of this thread: http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?/topic/125232-for-real-dow-i-checked/
  10. I still owe hartfw some money. I love the comics that the cowboy/samurai crowd produce and now I have my very own Delusions of Grandeur inspired comic. I am still willing to pay out that money hartfw, the last link you sent me the guy rejected my aid slot twice. Once on the day you sent me his name and again after he bought the FAC.
  11. Maybe you could explain how defending my protectorate is going rogue? Am I not allowed to have a protectorate, or am I not allowed to defend them? Strange world we live in when you can't defend a protectorate.
  12. I am honored to be the subject of this week's Bad Decision Friday. My people have informed me that they have a large supply of pointy sticks and even some advanced pointy sticks are in development. That sea cow won't know what hit it when the time comes for loud cow lamentations.
  13. The wars on the Grand Lodge of Freemasons are a separate issue. And I would think you would appreciate targeting the ruler of an alliance affiliation whenever possible. Maybe I will try out some more up-declares in the future. Time will tell the tale. If Rickhard were not in a full defensive posture he may not even have been in range for me to issue this survival threatening war declaration!
  14. I am here to inform the members and affiliates of the Grand Lodge of Freemasons that you are hereby under a declaration of war from Delusions of Grandeur. You attacked my protectorate and this is one of the consequences. One of the easy to predict consequences, so I thank you for not pulling a pre-emptive strike. Apologies to the Random Insanity Alliance for the delay in action. I will strive to do better in the future.
  15. This is a formal Declaration of War upon the Doombird Doomcave alliance by Delusions of Grandeur. I have wanted to do this for a long time as your depredations upon both my protectorates have not gone unnoticed. However, I did not want to follow the path of the most illustrious Ubuntu with an open declaration of war without the presence of actual wars. I may only get a single round in this time, but the hostility shall remain until such time as you make amends with both the Mostly Harmless Alliance and the Random Insanity Alliance to their satisfaction.
  16. When your wing is about to decapitate some dude, you are flying very low indeed.
  17. Everyone has the option to ignore the coalition and focus on their allies instead. Fight the enemies of your allies and let the chips fall where they may. You will be criticized, as it is impossible to "win" if you fight on both sides of a large coalition war. But you will likely maintain the goodwill of all your allies instead of just those who also fell on side A. Of course, some people value their pixels so much they would never be willing to fight on both sides of a coalition war. It can also put a big fat target on your back for coalition mates on side A who take issue with you for fighting in defense of an alliance on side B.
  18. Personally, I think Polaris is using this tactic you so despise to help TOP fulfill treaty obligations they made to the nations remaining on the Mushroom Kingdom AA. If those nations commit an 'act of war' then TOP rescinds its protection of said nation only. It was more of an issue when nations were going rogue and then jumping onto the Mushqueda AA. I assume it is still applicable and you know how dangerous assumptions can be.
  19. I voted for Gopher's team because it is full of win. Although I also wanted to vote for Avakael's team. Kahlan's team is currently handicapped by a lack of titles. I hope these people do not have to work together to achieve any sort of victory. Otherwise they are all doomed.
  20. Honestly, you want to share some of your expectations for what you want from an alliance so you get one that is a good fit. The wiki can give you a brief overview about CN history but you get much better understanding by talking to the people involved about why X alliance dislikes Y alliance. Some of the reasons are petty in the extreme and consequently funny to the peanut gallery. Good nation building is fairly easy and there are a surprising number of nations that have been here for years and still haven't figured out the basics. You could become a spy and try to engineer the next global war. That would make sure that at least a few people remember you for the rest of your CN career. :D
  21. As long as wartime talk revolves primarily on top tier dominance, then new nations will have little reason to stay. If a player only feels like they can make a valued contribution 2 years after their start date then retention will be your biggest problem. The truth is that a nation can make a contribution regardless of nation strength. Our community is just not adept at recognizing such contributions as they are statistically irrelevant.
  22. I was thinking the 90M could flow in the other direction this go around.
  23. Isn't the going rate to settle a GOONS Vs Methrage dispute $90M? It would be very entertaining if we had come full circle on that one.
  24. Your thought process makes sense to me. You have chosen a hard path here, and I hope it pans out well for all the Pax Corvus.
