1. When I was told about this last night I didn't really think too much of it. It's true that for me the Nemesis ideals and the reason I joined on day 1 died a long time ago and after a long time trying to turn things back I decided I needed to move on, so when I was told this was happening I wasn't surprised. I'll never forget my first year in the alliance as being the best time I've ever had on the Cyberverse. A year in the life of a pack of trolls indeed. However seeing it announced has really hit home, this has devastated me. Good luck wherever you go everyone, don't be strangers, ok?
2. That's not an alliance policy? It's a choice every ruler makes. Join a protected alliance, get protection for your alliance, or remain unprotected. Every ruler in the game makes that choice and choosing to remain unprotected means you may get raided, by GOONS, or by any raiding alliance. You're still setting your own policy...
3.
You make war against unaligned nations who disagree with your policy. If that's not setting policy for them, what is?
What policy is that setting for them? The policy of finding protection for their group of nations is the only one I can see being set, which is hardly a ridiculous policy to have?
4. Or maybe you could just do it, have your fun, and not have a big 'look at me!' thread seeking approval and attention?
5.
Is there a reason you are so upset?
Being upset wasn't a prerequisite to wishing ill will upon someone last time I checked. I simply hope your nation burns to the ground
people always say to "do something about it" and now SWAT does something and people are upset, you really cant win here can you.
What's he doing something about exactly? A serious answer to that might assuage me.
Well, he is in GOONS so I find it odd that he'd be complaining about this. They tend to be bigger jerks than myself.
Well putting aside the fact you've specifically looked me up in order to make a point about my alliance affiliation rather than my beliefs, when GOONS are 'being bigger jerks' it's at least either fairly entertaining for the masses, or not announced to the masses. You could have upped the entertainment value of this by taking on someone who might represent a challenge to your nation, but alas, it was not to be. Rest assured, the soldiers of Poyplonia are quaking in their boots at this show of bravado from the mighty Catland. Edit: Have edited this post 4 times now, refuse to do so again even if there are mistakes
6. I would tech raid if the 5 nations in my range on 'none' weren't in peace mode. I don't have time to go through looking for small AAs like I used to though so I pretty much don't raid at all anymore
7. 11k NS nuclear nation declares on non-nuclear nation that's smaller than him and then announces it to the world? Fan-!@#$@#$-tastic. Wake me up when something interesting happens, or at least when somebody interesting does something boring. I hope you get crushed.
8. Loath as I am to take Fernando's side on anything, that's not what he said at all. Edit: Spelling
9.
1. Just because the opposing sides of recent wars we've engaged in screwed themselves over into being the smaller side by doing stupid crap doesn't mean that's our fault. They messed up. We didn't. We won. That's how CN works.
Probably is largely down to Sparta placing themselves in the bosom of power, whichever side that happens to be on at any given moment.
10. I don't remember Pacifica having this much grade A stupidity flung in their direction. Maybe I'm looking at the past through rose tinted glasses as we so often do on this planet. Either way it makes me wish MK was a bit more evil, just evil enough to put an end to 'discussions' like these and leave us with just the interesting ones like Rebel Virginia's.
11. http://www.cybernations.net/nation_drill_display.asp?Nation_ID=145352 I agree with those above though that said it would be much better if this didn't happen
12. Not enough rubbish poetry here, I believe this Team Rocket is a fake.
13. It's clear from the behaviour from both sides of this issue, and previous to it, that the breakdown in this relationship is indeed a major issue and not the breakdown of something that barely existed in the first place. Tabloid sensationalism at it's worst.
14. "A major breakdown in the communications between two major alliances"? Give me a break, what were you doing? Were you close to hugging and promising to forgive and forget? It's a 'major breakdown' of a relationship that was tepid in the first place, and you say this like it's a source of political intrigue, when in reality it's just a big tabloid headline "MK AND NPO IN NOT BESTEST OF FRIENDS SHOCKER!" trying to make a story out of nothing at all. To say that NPO went to war over an identical incident is a complete falsification, not to mention a distortion of the original incident in the first place. To go on and say that NPO would go to war over the same incident again is simply churlish. People learn and move on from their mistakes and tend not to recommit those errors once they have been taught the error of their ways such as NPO was in Karma. I'm fairly certain MK won't be going into negotiations regarding a $3mil aid thief with demands of $15mil and 250 tech any time in the future for example. It seems odd that on the one hand you decry Rebel Virginia's outing of those 'discussions' to the public as a blatant attempt to cause damage to the public perception of your alliance, even going as far to demand the original and vastly over the top (as admitted by Archon) reparations amount because of it, then you go ahead and post another private matter which serves no purpose but to make Pacifica look bad. So what are the rules regarding this? Is it now open season since Rebel Virginia's actions? Is it only incidents that make MK look good like the reasonable handling of the TFD situation and the victim card played (justly) in this situation that we're going to see publicised while any incidents such as the NSO debacle will either be kept private or those going public with them will face consequences for doing so? Or is this just some sort of childish reaction to those who clamoured to know what happened inside the MK with recent incidents, so now we face threads to detail every little happening for your alliance? If that's the case I'm pretty happy in asserting that people only clamour for interesting news, and you could quite happily keep these dull affairs under wraps and suffer no complaints.
15. Congratulations Hoo I'm sure you've left RoK in more than capable hands.
16.
Maybe you didn't notice but there was almost a war between MK and NSO. I'm not going to address the details of such a strategy. If you haven't figured out yet why alliances send people into peace mode, you probably never will.
Oh I know why peace mode is a good strategy for a war. Seems like you were hugely premature with it though which has ended up costing your nations a fair bit no doubt.
17. How is going into peace mode now going to help your strategy for the next war?
18.
Attention world, Krunk demands your [s]opinion[/s] attention.<br>
Fixed
19. I'm fairly sure it's something RV admitted in the other discussion on it, he at least alluded to knowing he was going to release full unedited logs to the masses. I can't actually bring myself to delve into that thread again after reading it once to find the exact quotations but I'm comfortable in my assertions unless RV says I'm mistaken.
20. So we've got people on one side drowning in their tears as they cry "Bawwww MK was extortionate and bullied us into accepting these reparations" ignoring the fact that they weren't negotiated in good faith by NSO because there is a clear point in the logs where it clicked in RV's mind that taking the cash/tech hit would be great for hitting out MK's actions publicly and causing this backlash. To accept the figure with such an ulterior motive in mind is clearly not the whiter than white they are being portrayed as by some. Similarly people on the other side shouting "NSO only accepted our demands because they wanted to make us look bad!" ignoring the fact that you can't possibly be negotiating in good faith when you start demanding reparations where none are due in the first place, ignore all attempts to explain that this person wasn't a member at the point of transgression, and after that ignoring that the original contract was with the nation and not NSO, the nation committed a rogue action not sanctioned by NSO's government to break the contract, and so only the nation should ever have been held responsible once NSO had removed him from the alliance. You can talk about highballing all you want but it's not quite the same when any reparations at all above the original debt would be considered out of line by most. I feel like Moses, the only people staying dry in this are those that walk down the middle.
21.
http://www.cybernations.net/search_aid.asp?search=29691&Extended=1 xfd As was just pointed out in #mushroom - look how quickly NSO paid up when they realised MK was serious Edit: God dammit, ninja'd.
It's interesting to see how far you back MK in this considering you reneged on a tech deal we agreed on and lacked the common decency to even tell me the circumstances until I chased you up for the payment being several days late. Sort yourself out before you take glee from the errors of others.
22.
I haven't really decided on a name yet, though it is tentatively called CSKA Francograd for the moment. Adapting a Russian name suits us pretty well, and the military tie-in seems pretty fitting too. But I'm not 100% sure, I guess I'll see what I come up with while I'm waiting for these last few players.
Eintracht Francofurt. Beginning to see why James enjoys this so much
23.
I'm not saying they don't, that's clearly not what happened here though. He sacrificed all his trades and changed colors, he had to go a lot further than the other members of the circle. It doesn't make sense for him to just change his mind like that after coming so far. Clearly he was instructed. NSO government saw a chance to do economic damage to MK and took it, even though they knew they were throwing their member under the bus in the process, poor show NSO.
Do you believe what you are saying? Like genuinely put weight behind this nonsense that spews forth from your mouth? Why just recently there was a discussion about a tech deal scammer on this very forum, who was he instructed by? Clearly an individual can't possibly be stupid enough to sacrifice their nation when they receive $3mil in aid and the dollar signs flash before their eyes. Clearly this could never happen without explicit instruction from their alliance, and indeed never has done. Please. Do everyone engaging in discourse even close to rational a favour and pull your head from your ass.
