1.
Kzopp: I know you as a smarter man than that. Don't tie the party line for the sake of it. In such small matters, common sense dictates the timetable, not documents. There is no need to get paperwork for the payment of 200 tech because it is expected that it will be paid in a matter of days.
Yev, I've discovered that sense is not all that common at all. In case of threats of war, a rather serious matter, it would seem better to get details in writing. Either it was sloppy diplomacy, or there is some deception going on. And to your first line, while I appreciate your assessment of my intelligence, as misplaced as it is, I'm afraid my mercenary disposition leaves little interest in regards to the how the ramifications of this plays out on the global stage, so I have no party line to support.
you are a new member, so i don't blame you if you think the LSF actually decided anything on this matter, everything else you said was true though again, the LSF decided or agreed to nothing...
That being the case, why then did Sabcat post an apology (a half-assed one, at that) when nothing was decided? Seems a rather reckless thing to do, if you were truly interested in peace.
Declaring war after 18 hours is simply nonsense.

why the LSF is being blamed, idk
Are you both being obtuse? If you truly don't know, then why don't you speculate on IRON's motivations, if they aren't simply perusing personal retribution? For those out of the loop of those behind-the-scenes maneuverings, like myself, perhaps your insights would prove enlightening to the masses. Go ahead, I am most curious.
 2.
snip
"I/we didn't know about this or that stipulation" is not an excuse. Get the details down before agreeing to the proposal. It's just sloppy otherwise. And like in my previous post, don't agree to something if you're not going to follow through on it. If you weren't sorry say "We don't agree to do the apology because we don't endorse said member's actions" and find something else to agree on that satisfies both parties. If you all really wanted war, just say so.
 3. If terms are reached in a diplomatic conference, do them, and do them right. Or otherwise flip them the bird and go to war. But regardless of the case, allies shouldn't complain about the "unfairness" of terms or bemoan the resulting fallout of not meeting them. If the terms weren't fair, then they shouldn't have been agreed to. Trotsky, I like you buddy, but your better move would have been to acknowledge LSF's right to pursue such a reckless course- without trying to chastise IRON for simply making good on their threats of seeking satisfaction for an obvious grievance. If they are worth the sacrifice of Int's resources and allies, then roll tanks. And if they're not, wash your hands of them. But don't say one thing and do another. Good luck, man. ---
Very few people have what it takes to be a true diva.
4.
I didn't learn that lesson because I was too busy actually getting on with learning applied science to sit around thinking about how I should learn applied science. This war is silly, but the declaration is the real problem. The RIA supports true scientific thinking and motivation! O_O
Day One: Only one of RIA's members has seen through our sciencey slight-of-hand rhetoric. They rest appear too fascinated by our thought experiment, or perhaps their own shadow or putting pennies in light-sockets, to even take notice. Maybe the 107 rubix cubes we anonymously sent in the mail are doing their job. Regardless, this Moth knows too much. We must contain him before he informs his mates that something might be going on. Considering the surprising lack of preparedness of my targets, it's sad to see the youth of today not following your studious lead. For the betterment of these young minds, I will be taking over RIA's Research and Development Department.
 5.
No it's not, this DOW borders on metaphysics. ;>_> Maybe if it described general relativity it'd be awesome. Then we'd actually be learning something.
You mean you didn't learn to not waste your time sitting around doing useless thought experiments but instead to find true utility in application? Like, say, kicking some one's ass in? Damn. You can lead a person to the chalkboard, but you can't make them learn. How do we reach these keeedz?!!
 6. The Lord of Chaos Awakens! Now it's time to fight, RIA! Let's see what you've got! O/ War O/
 7. Dear OP: Quit being a little !@#$%*. Either play by their rules and suck it up and pay the money. Or keep fighting and/or evading until you can get into a position that changes the score. Other people have already outlined several methods for doing that. Or quit. But don't ever try to play the victim card here about it unless you want derision and ridicule heaped upon you. Win or Die Trying. No whining.
 8. I knew I smelled the misuse of pixels. Needs more.
 9.
I'm such a lucky boy! I got probed by Rotavele. I feel violated. The people of LUEshida feel violated. Did you clean your spies before insertion? Will we catch anything?! btw I will be the first to admit that I have neglected my nation for the past..... uhh.... three years. Just ask any Mushroom Kingdom Government Member. Why choose me, Backwards Elevator?
kinda hot
 10.
how dare you
Heh heh, shut up.
 11.
Tbh, i did more work than you ever did as your DMoFA, while your inactive playing around.
You are out of your !@#$@#$ mind. You were a drop in the bucket of tenure of gov members. You lasted, what, a week? Maybe two? And processed a handful of reports that I delegated to you and then you bailed. How dare you slander my contributions. I was MoFA for over half a year, restructured the entire department, oversaw all the diplomats, ran several other ministries at the same time, and went on to lead the alliance. You are an emotionally unstable pathological liar with identity issues who's addicted to the public attention of wallowing in the cycle of betrayal, confession, and guilt. Now pack in your attention whoring drama-lama crap-fest and get the $%&@ out.
 12. No shout out Rota? And I even knew about your spying on Zenith and other activities and never told a soul. Hmph. You have a uncontrollable compulsion to betray people and it seems your lack of loyalty is thus repaid.
 13. Pretty much the gist is creating all new buildings, and retrofitting old ones, so that they capture the wind, solar, and waste recycling energies and store them in hydrogen batteries, to not only make the buildings self-sufficient, but to link them to a continental smart electrical grid that sells the excess electricity under conditions you set. The rest of it is pretty interesting too, about oil reserves, and effects of global warming on the atmosphere, and how changes in technology affects the mind's quality of consciousness.
 14. Jeremy Rifkin, author and president at the Foundation on Economic Trends delivered an insightful talk about our economic and environmental future and what he calls, the Third Industrial Revolution. ------ This blew my mind. A paradigm shifting presentation. This is the future. I strongly recommend you to take the next 50 minutes to watch this, it is the most profound and exciting look at what is already happening in the EU, and what may come in the US, if we push our political system to make it happen.
 15. Good to see. Needs more Nordic themed/dragon/women stuff. And leather. Congrats.
 16.
The bolded part right here is exactly why you will never find a good community. You have no loyalty. You started your new alliance only a week ago, and have even gone so far as to recruit and apply for embassies. What happens to your alliance-mates (Who are your responsibility) when you jump ship? Will you just throw them under the bus? This quest for a "community" is irresponsible at best, and honestly who would take you after this? You fail to see the issue and consequences of your abrupt departures and the affects it has on other people in this game. You say you strive for community and a sense of belonging? If you really want that, then learn about loyalty. Because loyalty is the only way to stay relevant in this game. If you are loyal, you will make friends, who will then in turn help you build a better community. If you want to remain forever alone, then go ahead and jump to every alliance that is willing to accept you. But leaving alliances is not the answer.
^This is solid advice and best post I've read in a while.^ -- Rota, first, you get out of it what you put into it, which means you will only be satisfied by the fruits of your own labor. Don't contribute, don't get anything worthwhile out of it. Nothing will do it for you. And second, nothing outside of yourself will complete you if your sense of self-integrity is lacking. If you are like me, and want to feel at home but have a bad case of wander-lust, then create that home in your heart (I know, it sounds hokey, but it's true so shut up). Then no matter where you go, you have a sense of belonging. I've never met a stranger. No person or alliance will fill that void or sense of incompleteness, it is something you have to do for yourself. If you want to lead, you have to be responsible. If you want to be taken seriously, you have to have maturity. If you want to create a home for others, you have to be willing to plant your feet, accept the burdens of leadership, and just tough it out. Or, just accept the fact that you will be one of those ghosts that float from alliance to alliance never really making a decent contribution or impacting current affairs or making any substantial friends. Some people play it like that. So, in short, you ask how not to be an alliance hopper, and my advice is to grow up. To create growth, you have to be challenged, pushed outside of your comfort zone, accept those challenges as part of your life test, and overcome them. Then you will have grown.
 17. Good luck in the coming year, fellers.
 18. Mmm... in commemoration of our brief service together all those years ago, I will go ahead and say congratulations and wish you the best of luck. Hop out of your own creation, though, and you're off the christmas card list.
 19.
I'm shocked too that my personal agenda does not dictate Umbrella's actions. That said, you'll have to explain me which alliances you think I'd love to roll.
I could probably name one. Congratulations on this treaty, I am interested in seeing how it will develop.
 20. Wow... well, ok.
This game isn't about friendship, it's about politics.

I've never perceived much of a difference
Heh. ooc: Oscar Wilde would approve.
 21. Hmm, haven't these announcements usually been a groundhog for the next global conflict...? But I wonder if history regarding STA will repeat itself? Regardless, congratulations.
