1. Then you will cease to focus on my replies, presumably in the same way that you'd ignore the posts of an irrelevant body of commentators.
  2.
well, that all depends on what the criticism is, how much there is of it, and where it's coming from. Criticism from people I'm allied to is one thing. Criticism from people connected to the situation is one thing. Criticism from people who have made being irrelevant into an art form is quite another. Strange that you think this is damage control. Personally, I only just noticed this thread and found the whole thing funny. Plus, we do everything possible to direct attention towards our dumb antics, thank you very much.
Sure, sure. In fact they're so irrelevant that a comment from a peanut gallery member was the first thing you focused on, despite having seven pages of replies (not to mention the actual topic of discussion in the OP) to choose from when forming a reply. You even went as far to say that the moralising of these people was "the very best thing" about this type of thread. Those aren't the words I'd use to generally describe an irrelevance. So yes, it's damage control, and to say that you do everything to draw attention to your idiocy is plainly false when only moments ago you were attempting to create a 'hey let's all laugh at that crazy peanut gallery' sentiment, and now you are engaging in some pedantic game about nation creation dates. Shouldn't you be talking about your dumb antics?
  3.
the very best thing about this sort of thread is the peanut gallery moralizing from the sidelines. I have to say that in any international incident, my first thought is "Quick! What do MCXA think about this? This is vitally important!"
You think so? I prefer it when a member from one of the criticised alliances inevitably swans in post-criticism and issues the same tired one-liners about the peanut gallery in the hope that it'll deflect the attention away from their alliance's dumb antics. "Don't worry chaps, we're getting slagged off, but it's only those little fellows from the peanut gallery, right? Right?!" Classic.
  4.
I never claimed to be sophisticated.
Then we are agreed that the only people who find this funny are moronic simpletons, and those with a brains will be scoffing and shaking their heads disapprovingly.
  5.
Maybe it's wrong to you. That's cool, don't laugh. I find this whole situation hilarious, and the reaction you and others like you are having regarding the situation adds to the humor.
HAHAHAHA an alliance prepared for war on the basis of rumour AHAHAHAHAHAH. And people aren't laughing!?!?!!! HAHAHA WHAT IDIOTS. Or not, because alliances prepare for war on the basis of rumours all the time. There's not really much that's funny about this stunt, it's stupid and childish more than anything. Xiphosis and his cronies can feel pleased that people take them seriously (or did, anyway), but for everyone else it's should represent low-grade humour at best.
  6.
So you lied to admin/mods to get a warn removed: http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?showtopic=86653&st=0&p=2317305&#entry2317305
And how exactly is that your business?
  7.
Everytime your name is listed below, that means you owe 100 tech, since an expected nation (Spain) won the FIFA world cup. WINNERS / LOSERS WHO OWE THEM (You may be listed twice for multiple bets): 2. Congratulations guys. Oh and great work on the administration Batallion
  8.
Further bashing of the guy kinda seems useless, as he has already been warned but I guess people will still feel the need to come out in droves to point out how disgusting and unacceptable this is.
My hunch is that most of the bashing is being done because individuals want to suck up to Xiphosis, as opposed to further insult the OP. I find it hard to believe that as many people would be so outraged were it a lesser well-known player whose fictional stories displayed publicly on the internet were made fun of. Vasuda's apology seems sincere enough which is commendable and I hope that he isn't as silly as to mix OOC and IC again in the future.
  9.

Until you collectively get past the idea that anyone who disagrees with you or points out your flaws is a troll who should simply be ignored, you will never improve as an alliance.
  10. Don't rely on others for your excitement, make your own. I'm sure you can think of something to occupy your time... be creative. There is no rule that says that you have to sit around being bored collecting taxes and paying bills until one of the big cheeses finally decides it's time for a bit of a bust up on the battlefield, so get to work and find out what kind of effects you can have on Planet Bob.
  11.
That being said, it's really not fair to disparage an entire alliance for the actions of a few. If you're going to judge our alliance, get to know the other 99% before you come here and talk about things and make assumptions based off of nothing.
It is absolutely fair when those few are the leaders who are representing you to the world. To ask me to personally get to know each and every Legion member before making a judgement is plainly impractical, as you well know - it's a nonsense suggestion designed to detract from the fact that one of your top guys, who should be improving your image, is actually just embarrassing everyone under the Legion banner out here on the world stage. As far as I'm concerned, if the other 99% in your alliance are the salt of the cyberverse as you suggest, they would not be propping up jerks in leadership positions. The Legion as a whole isn't blotting it's own copybook, it's one of your leaders. And because leaders represent the members, that's when it turns into a big deal.
  12.
All of his awful posts on this page: http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?showtopic=88261&st=140
Looks like he's passionate about your alliance and wanted to defend it against what was pretty much a whole thread just taking the piss out of your sanction. Okay, so he was a bit brash and insulting to others in the process which makes him (not the alliance, but him, the individual) look a bit silly, but it's hardly catastrophic. Frankly, your own posts are much, much worse. Going to gag yourself and make yourself pay a fine? All I ask is for a little consistency.
  13.
The really hilarious thing is that you believe everything he's saying. You really think the gov just randomly told him to give out 500 tech? He was warned about flaming other alliances, he did it again, he was told to stop, and what do you know? He did it again. He was also offered to do 3mil/150 tech deals as a punishment, but he refused that, and brought the needless drama to the BB's.
Quite right too. I will never pay a fine for speaking my mind either, not $1 nor 500 tech. The actual amount (humorously draconian though it is) isn't the point, it's the principle of you guys enforcing gag orders on your members and then going on insane power trips when they - amazingly - don't agree. It's become clear pretty quickly that the Legion is out of touch with reality when you lot refer to those who don't accept limits on their ability to speak openly as 'insubordinates' who need to be punished.
  14.
I'm old enough to know that whenever someone brings something internal to the BBs it always looks bad on them.
It certainly looks bad on you. Firstly we had Gunnar Griffin calling out your racist remarks, and now we have lmcfalcon12 calling you out as an unreasonably authoritarian bully who has driven him away too. 500 tech? Really? Just for disagreeing with a stupid gag order? (Honestly, the fact that an alliance is still issuing these as a matter of routine is an amazing fact in itself). Very odd. It's getting easier and easier to see where the problems really lie, you know?
  15.
Really sad to see you have to wash your dirty laundry in front of everyone. If you had had any respect for Legion you wouldn't have posted it imo. But then again, it's just me, I'm biased.
What complete nonsense. Here's an idea out of leftfield - if The Legion doesn't like people talking about their dirty laundry, they can clean their laundry! If they have problems within their alliance they should put more effort into sorting them out, instead of simply trying to prevent everyone in their alliance from talking in public, lest one of their members lets slip about how the alliance is rotten to the core or whatever.
  16.
Kinda lost a bit of respect for you after you brought this to the BB's.
Indeed, posting on the open world forums is a crime of monumental proportions. Everything is lost now, and the Legion might as well pack up and go home, because this guy posted a few of his thoughts about his time in the alliance on the dreaded BBs. You truly are doomed. lmcfalcon12, it doesn't sound like you've had a lot of fun recently, which is sad. Good luck with the future.
  17. People hated you and threw anything they could at you. With that simple answer in mind, maybe you'd be better off focusing on why anyone would go to such lengths to smear the hated NPO in the first place. I think that'd be more productive than rewriting history by deflecting the blame for your downfall away from your leadership and onto the evil propaganda merchants (and their various lines of attack on your own particular brand of rule). OR!!! Maybe you could simply let it go and move on, instead of trying to stoke up tired old fires.
  18.
So I put it to you, Planet Bob, what should C&G do?
The entirety of your opening post is a fallacy because C&G haven't taken over the world. Until the premise of your question is corrected, it is undeserving of further answerment.

    4 years man....

I have to laugh at how the uber-old guys always seem obliged to deny their own obvious feelings of achievement every time they bring up how old-school they all are, particularly when using the wonderfully funny I'm being forced to keep playing against my will, kill me now, I am not enjoying this - why am I still here!!! etc shtick. These pre-emptive strikes against potential accusations of being a "nerd" or a "geek" are not necessary guys, you are free to enjoy the triumph of existence. Put away your shame and show your pride, for it is not a crime for you to love the game as much as you do. Congratulations on four years of Cyber Nations, AirMe.

  21.
I like it
Reckon you should use it... show you're not bothered by the petty attacks and can have a sense of humour about things.
  22. Got to laugh at the desperation of the MK members in this thread. "Quick, someone outside of our sphere of influence is being congratulated for achieving something, find a way to bash them STAT!". This need to constantly snipe at alliances on the other side of the web (particularly the ex-Hegemony alliances... wonder how long they'll attempt to keep these tired old grudges going for?) has not only become rather tiring, but it's starting to seem rather forced. Maybe it's your way of deflecting from insecurities closer to home guys, I don't know, but it's pretty lame
  23.
They weren't homogenous, they just adhered to some basic common style elements. It's called a basic standard. You've seen the GATO/NPO pips right? And yes, I do think it's a bad thing when we hand over the creation of pips to people who don't understand that behind the style is a utilitarian purpose. I'm just saying they're getting overly art-y and moving far away from their purpose.
Utilitarianism in pips is boring, stuffy and outdated, and has rightly been done away with. Having colourful and interesting works of art brightening up what is otherwise a rather plain forum is more important than the further and unnecessary satisfaction of basic utilitarian needs, because those needs are already satisfied by a very purposeful and very dull Alliance Name box. Not to mention the fact that you can always check on an poster's nation to find out their extremely important details - it might take 30 seconds but if it's such a big deal to know this stuff, then that is no time at all.
  24. A pacifican jackboot footprint represents your history and values well, so nice choice. Is it a statement that you won't change the way you do business, regardless of pressures, or am I reading too much into this? Also, yay for non-rectangular pips. It would be good to see some 'losing' designs too, so we can all give you a hard time for picking the wrong one.
