1.
People acting self-righteous and in the know when they can't even get a detail as basic as that down is just comedy gold.
If you refuse to give out any information, that is what you can expect. Either reveal some facts next time or accept that misinformation and conjecture will spread once more. You are not liked enough, respected enough, or feared enough for it to be any other way.
 2.
What you mean like not bowing to every whim of the peanut gallery in a drama grab thread by a resigning member of government who knows he got caught? You really want info? Join VE or TKTB and get member updates like the rest of our members, or sit down, shut up, and wait for the announcement that you know is going to come eventually from actual government before !@#$%*ing we're withholding information. I don't know about you, but I like to sleep in on weekends (well every day if it comes to that) give some members of government time to wake up and make decisions before you start whining about how we never tell the peanut gallery anything. You'll look less silly that way. I say less, because nothing could completely prevent you from looking silly, you just try to hard.
You had time to talk to TKTB about the situation, and you had time to tell your allies about the situation. Time wasn't the issue. Lucky for me, your leader posted the information we all wanted to know minutes after you made this post. Guess I don't have to join your alliance after all.
 3.
I know its a shocker compared to how the last guys did things but we actually wait for concrete grievances before we take actions. The boredom everyone complains about is the direct result of that, we try diplomacy.
Diplomacy like withholding information to manipulate a situation in order to make you look like the victims? That's not diplomacy, that's warmongering, coward-style! They are the same tactics that have always been used, by old and by new. You took an error or a misjudgement by one member of an alliance and tried to blow it up into a big issue because you knew you were on the stronger side. It's classic Planet Bob opportunism, and the only reason your grievance has gone from 'concrete' to 'non-existent' is because the guy left the alliance and denied you your 'harbouring spies' line. You are right about one thing though, your style of politics is certainly causing planetary numbers to dwindle. Good job on that one.
 4.
Well, if he didn't actually do anything, then it's pretty !@#$%* that their member resigned and that I imagine there was a bit of a panic about what to do about the situation. It's fair enough if he did something that bully tactics were used, but if he didn't, it's pretty terrible behaviour.
You don't think that VE hoped to set up a one-sided war over this? It seems rather obvious that they hoped to pressure TKTB into committing to defend their member, without providing the evidence (that we still haven't seen?) that could possibly make TKTB think twice about keeping WasDragon around, at least not until it would be too late for them to do anything about it. I don't blame VE for warmongering here, but I wish they'd just be honest about it instead of being crippled by the fear of the spectre of Karma paying them a visit at some point down the road. If they wanted to attack TKTB and their allies and thought that they had enough power to make it work, they should've gone with the courage of their convictions, PR be-damned. However, if they wanted to attack TKTB and their allies but were terrified of a public backlash or were afraid of losing the support of previously neutral alliances (as appears to be the case: looks like VE aren't interested in causing too much of a fuss now that the "but you are harbouring spies!" PR insta-win is off the table) then they should simply accept that they are too weak and pathetic to declare wars on their own, and should scuttle back to their corner until someone with bigger stones comes to the fore and kicks something off that they can bandwagon onto.
 5.
Let's see here. A new alliance declares it's existence without a protectorate agreement. Just because he [they] made a mistake does not justify someone crossing the line and entering [raiding] areas they shouldnt have been in.
On planet bob, mistakes are taken advantage of by stronger parties. It's a fundamental rule and you must've learned this by now. Strong parties are masters at the art of sitting back and taking advantage of the misfortune of smaller alliances, and this is clearly what is happening here. I agree that VE made the bigger mistake, and that the bulk of the punishment should be going to whoever was in charge of their masks, but we are not living in my own or your version of perfect world. VE were always going to try and take advantage of this situation, to deflect from their own mistake, and to kick off the war that everyone wants from a position that is favourable to them. Take a look at TKTB's allies and see why I'm surprised that they haven't already declared war on the entire alliance. Maybe we'll have to wait for update, or maybe they'll back down and have to be satisfied with an individual nation's head on a platter. Guess it's wait and see time.
 6. Made a small contribution also, looking forward to trying out the new calculator (my CN-U name is jerleat). Good luck getting more donations.
 7. Looking very healthy there, congratulations guys.
 8. I read the proposal and whilst it sounds interesting, I am having trouble with the rather woolly section on what the alliance gets out of your adventure. You will get access to all internal chatter (maybe it'll only be amongst the members, but this can still has some worth and value), all internal government messages, all alliance guides and resources, and yet you will be gone within two weeks, leaving behind only an appraisal of the community? Whilst your perspective as an outsider might well be interesting to read (although I have doubts about this - surely an arbitrary two week stay is not enough to gain any remarkable insights into an alliance's community functioning?), I'm not entirely convinced that it is worth the intrusion into (and swift exit from) that community. Scepticism aside, this is something new and different, so I wish you luck with it. If it does go well, maybe you can share some of what you learned with us (even if it's only general outlines, so as not to offend any specific alliances with the negatives of your reports)?
 9. I am currently disposing of my copious nuclear stockpiles within the borders of enemy nations in support of your cause. I urge other world leaders to reduce their nuclear stockpiles in a similar manner upon foes of their choosing.
 10. Cat Land o/ May the tuna and catnip be bountiful.
 11. I did have this idea that your leadership were the ones who made all the cowardly decisions and the membership just went along with it like the dumb mass that they appear to be, but now you are telling me that it is the membership of the MHA that are all tools, and not just the leaders? I really do not know what to make of this, I guess the problem is worse than I thought.
 12.
(Which, seems to be on the pre-text of nothing in hopes of becoming something rather than having an actual cause.) It's nice to know that MHA is a global puppeteer controlling the treaty web though. lmao.
The attitude I am rebelling against is demonstrated ably by your own 'Azrael Alexander' (and let me assure you, it has nothing to do with your deluded idea that you might be a global puppeteer, "lmao"):
I'd be perfectly content if our influence was non existent as we after all are not trying to be a "respectable hegemon".
You're not trying to be anything, other than perhaps a useful tool for the leaders of the most influential alliances to wield (always with your own self-preservation and cowardice at the forefront of your thinking, of course) whenever necessary. You clearly enjoy being tools, ready for the use of whichever side is looking like the most powerful at any given time, with the prize of never risking being in the firing line yourselves. If that wasn't the case and you truly didn't want to use your influence for anything, you'd be neutral.
 13.
None of the points you raised are supported by GATO actually. We have no bad blood with MHA and a rogue isn't going to suddenly gain all of our support. Why would it?
Okay, I am frankly beyond caring about why you made the decision to sanction me, mainly because as soon as we start talking about the reasons behind our decisions the discussion will go round and round and round with everything being repeated multiple times until we finally get bored of disagreeing with each other. I am not interested in this. The facts are that you made the first move by sanctioning me and I felt it necessary to respond with military action. I understand your reasoning even though I disagree with it, and with a small amount of effort I'm sure you can do likewise with mine.
We have no problem with MHA. We do have problem with rogues, as most people do.
If you had declared war on me just because you don't like rogues I'd have had no complaints. I am simply opposing the moronic notion that I somehow started up a direct conflict between us by going rogue on an alliance with which you have no links or obligations to whatsoever.
You can complain all you like, either way declaring war on us was pointless because MHA will keep attacking you. This is more amusing than it is intimidating. I may or may no speak for GATO when I say: I really don't care about your declaration of war.
Asking me a question and then ignoring the answer in favour of playing the complaining card is why I won't be responding to any of your posts again.
 14.
What reason would we have for denying the request? You were a nobody in the eyes of the Global Alliance and to us, you are now a rogue. Thus you were treated like a rogue.
Maybe you support my cause? Maybe you just plain don't like the MHA and want to thumb your noses at them? Maybe you think that sanctioning a life brown team trade circle member (and former senator) is inappropriate? Maybe you think sanctions will be ineffective because I would probably have made my trades secret prior to going rogue, and would likely have enough money to not need my aid slots? Maybe you are unwilling to risk damaging the nations of innocent brown team members over one rogue? You can pick any reason you like, and I'm sure you can think of others. The point is that you had options and you chose to sanction me. Even when accepting that you only did what is generally the done thing, does that mean that as the damaged party I should just ignore such an overtly hostile action? In doing so I would only be inviting further acts of war, with no threat of retaliation and no obvious disincentive.
Going rogue is an act of war. We didn't declare anything.
My act of war was against the MHA, not you. You were completely uninvolved until you decided to get yourselves involved.
 15. Nothing to do with feelings. An act of war is an act of war, plain and simple.
 16.
An alliance asked a senator to sanction you. Rogues are sanctioned.
It's not a given that an alliance will grant a sanction when it is requested of them. As I said before, GATO could have said no. It wouldn't have been the first time a sanction request has been denied so don't act as though it's cast iron convention that 'rogues' get sanctioned. Obviously, I never expected GATO to go against convention and reject the request, but that doesn't mean that I'm going to simply ignore the act of war.
 17.
You're a rogue, don't be surprised when you're treated like one.
What? I have expressed no surprise at anything - of course GATO would choose to side with MHA. I am simply making it clear that acts of war will be responded to in kind, regardless of whatever label you try to dismiss me with.
 18.
To: Aimee Mann From: MasterChief777 Date: 11/27/2010 4:47:31 PM Subject: Sanctions! Message: Trade and Foreign Aid sanctions have been setup against your nation by MasterChief777 of the Brown team. You will no longer be allowed to trade or send/receive foreign aid while you are a member of the Brown team while these sanctions are active and all non-secret trades with the Brown team have been canceled.
This is an act of war and I am left with no option but to recognise the state of hostilities that now exists between the nation of The Forgotten Arm and the Global Alliance and Treaty Organization.
 19.
You're funny. Why don't you test that sentiment? I think you'll change your opinion pretty quickly.
I am testing it right now and the sentiment is holding true thus far. This is the current highlight:
To: Aimee Mann From: lanski11 Date: 11/26/2010 8:50:31 PM Subject: Spy Operation Attack Message: A spy operation has been launched against your nation. In the attack the enemy spies targeted your cruise missiles and managed to destroy 0 missiles. In the attack your counter spies managed to kill 20 enemy spies and your attackers identity has been publicly revealed.
Wasting a spy attack on destroying cruise missiles in the first place is silly. Doing it when I have no cruise missiles on hand? Wow.
 20. Thanks. And I got a glimpse of that myself when I spied one of the few nuclear MHA nations in my range. It had a healthy warchest of $7m dongs.
 21.
To clarify, the Reformation is not simply against MK; it is against the standing power structure as it exists now. If you feel a different alliance is the root of the structure, feel free to join and attack that alliance. We are not an alliance; there are no formal rules or orders to follow.
Then I shall join you, and declare war on the Mostly Harmless Alliance.
 22. I like some of your sentiments (your assessment of the MHA and Sparta) and I dislike some of your sentiments (your flawed characterisation of the NSO), but what put me off joining you most was your target. MK, as much as I dislike the attitudes and immaturity of many of their members, cannot be blamed for not doing anything. Their mass dumping of their treaties may have been crude and uncouth, but at least it was something. Their constant obsession with the NPO may be tiresome and unoriginal, but at least it is something. There are many alliances who do nothing but follow, and whom contribute much more to a stagnant environment than your current target. ODN, for instance, are currently following MK around the treaty web like lost puppies (and whose members even go so far as to copy their masters' posting style just to fit in with them - hello Kalasin) and historically have had no discernible ideology other than mere survival. Why not pick on them? I am in need of further convincing if I am to join you in your quest for a better world.
