So attacking casualties are only for ground attacks? Therefore Nukes do not count towards your attacking casualties?

I just nuked someone and I checked to see what my casualties were up to and they didn't change. The report said he lost over 70,000 troops but they were not added to my casualties. I am just wondering why? do casualties update immediately or do they update the following hour?
