So I guess this is some sort of DoW from PC on KN then? So now when my offensive slots open up it would be safe to assume you aren't going complain when/if I respond to this with by declaring some wars on your lower tier? If we're already at war, then all your nations within range are fair targets.

After PC did that coordinated alliance tech raid on Onyx Hand back in the day I've always kind of wanted to get some pay back for that, so I guess it works out in the end.

Why would that be necessary? I thought KN wasn't an alliance. You can just attack them with no questions asked and no consequences, regardless of your affiliation.

KN will allow any nations who want to hit PC or GOONS in as well, so those with a grudge against either (Or just bored wanting some war) are free to join and help in the war effort.

Onyx Hand is an alliance that was formed by a bunch of former FCC members not long after the noCB War ended, the alliance had 10 members throughout its existence. PC launched triple attacks on a bunch of us as part of some tech raid they were doing, I was angry that we were letting them off the hook and agreed to white peace without hitting them back at the time. After that Onyx Hand got a protectorate with TAB, then later merged into the FCC because we weren't growing and stayed at 10 members throughout our existence, which was followed by me becoming King of the FCC along with a new charter.

I do enjoy that you folks have your stories working in line. It is the sign of a good rapport. We just need to keep up the rhetoric about telling me who I can trade with and we will tread in all kinds of places where tales of freedoms stolen and liberties killed in the name of 'security' abound.

Actually no. This has nothing to do with tech raiding. It has to do with some folks thinking they can tell other folks what they can do with their nations and trading partners. It has to do with some folks thinking they can dictate things that they cannot, thinking that by screaming about 'protecting themselves' they are actually grabbing bits of power.

Using the 'excuse' of security, power hungry peoples throughout history have crushed folks under their boots. The parallels are, entertainingly interesting. A horde, unkempt and untoward, madly dashing about causing mayhem until a single charismatic leader arises to give them focus for their intrusive and destructive predilections: anyone daring to stand in front of that mob or question it gets attacked.

One: Do you believe there is something inherently different between telling people they can't aid a nuclear rogue, and telling people they can't trade uranium to a nuclear rogue?

Only if you have uranium, and intentionally provide it to a nuke rogue so he can buy more nukes after he got sanctioned and lost his old uranium trade.

And even then, probably not.

I don't really hear anyone saying "So I can't do tech deals with nuke rogues? You're going to tell me who and who I can't aid?" because that's a pretty commonly accepted situation. You're aiding a rogue with the intent to harm. It's not what you're doing so much as why you're doing it. I would say intentionally providing a nuke rogue with uranium after he lost his last one is trading with intent to harm. I would not push that any farther than what I just said, to apply to any other situation other than what I just said.

Even then it would probably be an uphill battle trying to prove your intent. This hypothetical situation has gone way out of hand. (OOC: Especially when you're comparing asking people not to supply nuke rogues with uranium to nazis)

Stop talking about kicking in my front door and checking my trades. Or the trades of my alliance mates. Or the trades of my allies. You do not have the right to protect yourself by interfering in my nation, my alliance, my allies, or whomever any of them choose to associate with. You do not have the right to decide what it is anyone else will or will not do. You cannot use the excuse of a rogue ( a single nation attacking a mighty alliance ) to expand the boundries of your influence. No sir, this you can not do.

Any reasonable organization faced with a problem like this would have beaten Methrage to a pulp, quietly so as to not feed his ego or the trolls, just dealt with it like the minor nattering pimple of a problem it is. No. No, we can't do that - we have to go out, call in every darn color, drop a pile of sanctions, threaten Legion's senator, threaten Red's senator, commit spy and false aid attacks on nations, accuse and extort aid from other alliances, threaten planet bob in general...then since we haven't quite figured out how to annoy folks enough...start threatening to 'deal with' folks with uranium trades. Did I miss something?
