Since the Nordic invasion of Mariehamm and the subsequent rush of Slavorussia to their defend, Europe had been ablaze and likewise, in the streets of Brisbane, along with the streets of almost every city in the Commonwealth. Protesters took the squares and avenues outside government buildings with banners of "Support the War" and "Free Europa". In Brisbane itself, Senators Ernst van Dorf and Alexander Eamon watched the torches burning just below Diet Hall as the chants echoed loudly into the night.

Tarja Filitov had been a veteran of the Gebiv War and had watched first hand as Germany had caused so much destruction across Europe along with their brethren in the United Francoist Empire, which had since been purged from the Earth. Since the creation of the Greater Nordic Reich he had been a famed speaker across the Commonwealth, attracting young and old to his platforms. He was not a rebel to the government, or a troublemaker, people regarded him as a patriot and what was transpiring in the world sickened him to no end.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

How can we let something this just happen in front of us? How can we let the despots of Europe, the same despots that threw us from our home continue to $%&@ and pillage their way across that beloved continent? Tell me tell you a story. When Lady Sarah declared war against Germany in the Gebiv War. We fought along side, Norvsea, Prussia, Gebiv that was run by General Mannilig, who is supposed to be a true Nord! Where are those people now? They are allied with the German scourge. They have showed us with gifts. Given us land in Europe, given our leaders a seat in their nation, yet do you people see a pattern. First, Valkurheim was used as a positioning point to grant Lady Sarah access to become President of the Nords. Peace came from abandoning them.

Let me go back further! How did all this start?! An aggressive attack against Slavorussia! Imperialism in its worst form and yet we sat around and did nothing about it! Ladies and Gentlemen this must end! What you see in Europe is a monstrosity, it is nothing sort of another Francoist Empire, but this one is built on Nordism. Do you know what Nordism is!? Do you remember Europe before the Romans? That is the Nordic dream! Germania Superior! They talk about an equal Europe! No! They talk about a German Europe! Where were the festivals of French Pride! Dutch Pride! Polish Pride! They say they are Nordlanders, but they are not and they never will be European!

Lady Sarah! Why have you abandoned us?! Why have you ceased to take action against this scourge! These were the men that nuked us! These were our friends who betrayed us! We cannot sit around any longer! FREE EUROPA! FREE EUROPA!

The chanting filled the streets as Van Dorf and Eamon looked down with frowns on their faces.

"Things are getting out of control." Eamon sighed. "This is turning into a daily thing and the people are getting restless. Splendid Isolation isn't so splendid anymore it feels."

"I've already convened an emergency Diet Meeting tonight to handle this. We...we have a lot of things to discuss."

"War?"

"Perhaps. Though the Diet is influenced greatly by the war-hawks and I think that Lady Sarah is falling in with them too."

"It might be for the best."

"Perhaps." Van Dorf turned and checked his pocket watch. "Meet me at the meeting, I have to go escort Her Ladyship down. Her approval of this is absolutely necessary."

Sarah herself had been watching the protest from the windows in her office as she gently released the green drapes to shield out the sound, and the moon, and the torches. Things were getting bad. She had kept the Hansa silent throughout most of the political discussions going on in the world at the moment. Watching, but never reacting, and she was starting to show signs of weakness. That the Hansa wasn't a real power and that she was more interested in gossip than politics. But that was all coming to an end. She had already made up her mind, the Hansa was again going to spearhead a world movement and so when Van Dorf knocked on the door and the large man with the wrap around mustache walked in, Sarah only rose from her seat absolutely silently and bowed.

"Is the Diet called?"

"Yes Milady." She looked with unmoving eyes at the hallway ahead. "You've already made up your mind haven't you?"

"Is that a problem?"

"Not if it is what the people, your citizens, desire milady."

"Order! Order! Order in the Diet!" Yelled the Speaker as Lady Sarah and Senator Van Dorf walked into the great hall. Representatives from around the Commonwealth, Japanese, Russians, Australians, Marchar, and Finns rose from their seats until Her Ladyship sat down. "This is an emergency meeting called by the Lady Protector over the current war in Europe. Lady Sarah you have the floor."

Sarah rose and cleared her throat as she held up a piece of paper that she had been scribbling on since leaving her quarters. She looked at the Senators, one by one and smiled.

Gentlemen,

We have a serious dilemma on our hands. With the fall of the Communist International, the hostile balance that existed in the world, however pathetic and immature has disappeared replaced by two extreme evils. Nordland and the Dragon Empire. All ready, these too forces have showed much more cooperation than could ever have been believed and while peace is a welcoming feeling to this world of ours there is a troublesome feeling about.

After the Brisbane treaty, a war began between the Republic of Mariehamm and the Greater Nordic Reich. Presumed to only be a cold war, this conflict has begun to heat up and with Slavorussia now involved in the conflict causalities will begin to mount.

"Neutrality! Neutrality!" The roars emerged from the crowd and to this Sarah only held up her hand.

We cannot sit and declare ourselves away from the current events of the world anymore gentlemen. The Nords promised a stop to aggression. There is no need for this war against Mariehamm, this is only the beginning of what could possibly be a stronger Nordic Reich that with certain alliances could rule the whole of Eurasia from Berlin and Bengal. Hegemony is wrong and the prevailing winds of Nordism has thrown the world in to turmoil. Now they are engaged in a war a war that may eventually lead to encompass many more nations and many more theaters and many more lives.

Therefore, I ask of you now. Approve my proposal for a Declaration of War on the Greater Nordic Reich and the Hansa will make another stand as Slavorussia and Mariehamm have already done and ending the Nordic hegemony on Europe forever.

The Hanseatic National Anthem played loud and clear on a bright day in June as Hanseatic infantry, tanks, airplanes, Marines, and Lillian Guards filled the streets of Brisbane. Televisions broadcast the same images going on in Tokyo, Vladivostok, Bandar Seri Bagawan, and Valkurheim. Today was a glorious day, today, the Hansa once again stared the same death that it stared at years ago and live or die they were ready to make the same sacrifices from before.

Sarah stood on the platform of the Diet and looked down at her army and at the world.

Citizens of the world!

Today the Hansa once again resolves a promise, a promise that we made to our ancestors and I to my people and to the world. Years ago, we were violently thrown from our home because of the sheer excess use of German power to dominate Europe. My friends they have succeeded for the past few years. Crushing Gebiv, Slavorussia, and others in their spread of power. In time we have seen empires rise and fall, one was the United Francoist Empire. We helped bring them down, but if you recall, Germany was an ally of those same people. Europe is now under a blanket and while Baron Erwin von Uberstein remains as the only bulwark left, the Slavorussians, even battered have risen to the cause. I will not let this go unanswered and by overwhelming support in the Diet. The Hanseatic Commonwealth henceforth declares war on the Greater Nordic Reich.

People of the world, those of you who have sworn to protect me and protect my nation. Help me now! Help me in the fight to preserve Europe. Not a Nordic Europe but a Europe governed by Europeans, by Dutch who call themselves Dutch, by French who call themselves French, not under this blanket term that creates Germania Superior. I have seen your hatred to them in the past few days, but if you do not act then nothing will be done. Join me! Join me and together we can change the world!

The Hansa was of course at a disadvantage to the extreme might that the Nordic Empire had at their disposal. With an army totaling only 270,000 men, it was going to be extremely difficult to maintain order and effectively engage the enemy. However, Sarah and her generals both understood that they could effectively garrison the Commonwealth with half the troops that were in place, which would lend at least one Hanseatic Army, 100,000 to the fighting in Europe. Almost immediately after the declaration, transports in Brisbane, Tokyo, and Vladivostok were loaded and began to head to Hanseatic positions in Borneo. They would wait there for any eventual support from Australia before heading up to the Suez Canal to ask for permission from Rebel Army to cross into the Mediterranean. Along with the 1st Army, they were supported by various armored divisions that totaled 800 tanks. As for air superiority most of the air force was in Brisbane and would need after clearance with other countries, jump towards Valkurheim.

In Valkurheim itself, the province was defended by the 1st Belarussian Division totaling 50,000 and four armored divisions totaling 400 tanks. This was added onto the 11 squadrons of aircraft and bombers that were deployed in the province.

The initial plan of attack was subtle. The planes roared their engines, strapped with napalm as they took off from airstrips outside of Valkurheim heading towards the farms of the Ukraine. The plan was simple. The Hansa couldn't possibly effective invade Nordland themselves, but industry and food supplies could be harmed to take pressure perhaps off of the Slavorussians and Mariehammers who had already committed to the war. The Ukraine had been the breadbasket of Slavorussia and all nations that held such a region, with the Nordic population, boasting perhaps one of the largest populations in the world, anything that would effect the home war effort would be useful.

Within hours, the planes would be over Ukrainian fields to drop their payloads, while being escorted by the fighters in case of Nordic air power in the region. Though they hoped that since it would be a surprise attack, and in farming fields that were presumed not to be heavily defended this would be just the momentum the Hansa would need.

Meanwhile, the 50,000 of the 1st Belorussian Division started to prepare for what would be an inevitable invasion of their home soil. Major roads would be mined, and earthen defenses set up. All defenses that could be prepared quickly. They didn't need to win, they just needed to hold out. In addition to this, the fifth Belorussian Brigade was pushed into Nordic territory in the Baltic States heading to the city of Varena. They were not to engage, but instead set up defenses and prepare to retreat after the first sign of a Nordic advance.

To free an oppressed continent from a monoculture, from forgetting its true past. However, not only because of that, but also because the Nords violated their own words and promised repeatedly, claiming to not fire the first bullet, to not take action unless the enemy did it first. They betray and lie their way to ruling all of europe.

These are the reasons why our small and insignificant nation shall join Sarah Tintagyl and her glorious alliance against the Greater Nordland Reich.

As if on command, the Singapore forces that were in Rebel Army packed up everything and went back to the transports to board them. 800,000 men and 9,000 tanks&support vehicles were ready to fight not for their fatherland, but for what they perceived as right.

Seven carriers, filled with airplane-squadrons, and 25 other ships began moving through the Suez canal, all of them the best and most modern that Singapore had to offer, and considerably more advanced than anything the Nords could possibly throw at this small, yet powerful country. 25 additional squadrons waited in RA airforce bases to be deployed, while "only" 150,000 men and 1,000 vehicles could board the transports for now, of which 100,000 men and all vehicles would be brought into Greece to defend them there. The rest would, for the time being, land in Calabria.

Singapore was there, and its forces advanced through the mediterranean.

With the thread of global war going real, the readied troops are being mobilized and brought to deployment ability. GAN is on heightened alert, as well as the GAAF and national security assets. With the involvement of a major ally, no risks were being taken.

Her life was too precious to lose in this war, therefore, the government would take full responsibility of everything that was going on.

The end of the beginning.

The beginning that had brought upon Nordlandic domination of Europe was now coming to an end. So be it.

The Republic of New England thus commits itself to the upcoming struggle against the Greater Nordlandic Reich. With the support of our allies and friends alike in the world, we are sure we shall prevail.

HIGHLY-CLASSIFIED

Various Army, border, Stasi, Military-SS units and formations in various points across the Republic of New England received classified orders from the Department of Defense through the National Security Command instructing them to take proper war readiness steps.

Ports and harbors, as well as cities, strategic points, and bases and installations, across New England were placed on high alert as Stasi Border Troops sealed the entire border (except the New England-Tahoe border). The nation was elevated to DEFCON-2, and the Military High Command transmitted this information to Army generals that were now to direct their nation’s war effort against the Nords. The naval base at Guantanamo Bay was also placed on high alert.

Approximately 250,000 regular troops, along with several divisions of the Military-SS, were readied for operations across the Atlantic Ocean; the Army was ordered to expand to nearly 700,000 troops and the entire Navy was placed on alert and the majority of it was to be committed to an attack across the Atlantic. In bases and installations all over New England, missiles were being readied in their silos and configured to launch at a moment’s notice. The satellites floating in space above New England were activated and now went into position as the SDI was activated. To minimize the possibility of internal threats, the Department of State Security instituted proper security measures; airport, port, and border security were elevated to draconian levels. The Stasi was now tasked with maintaining law and order at home with any means, and as were the Military-SS. Further security measures were to be taken in due time.

New England was now ready for war.

The room falls silent for a few seconds. "The future may be at stake here, we cannot yield nor fail." The man turned his head and with a smirk says. "Well then, just tell me when the dogs of war are let loose, if all." Then he walks off, preparing for something for no reason, or perhaps for something more.

So far one of the protests have gotten violent, where protesters tried to storm a Nordlandic embassy or building. Inaction on the part of the ruling government could lead to calls for impeachment to the first fall of the Moderates (next election) in the history of the RA.

A few months ago, the Greater Nordlandic Reich battered the remains of the Slavorussians simply to get rid of a “threat.” Then, a hostile action was done on a well known house in which Mariehamm responded with A DoW. No military action was taken. Now they march into Mariehamm to get rid of yet another “threat.” Their goal was simple: to achieve peace. However, along the way they mistaken that shaking someone’s hand is the same as putting a gun to their forehead. Before any of that, I met with the Greater Nordlandic Reich to attempt to recruit them into a Global Peace Initiative. They agreed to the following:

We, the *INSERT NAME HERE* will not find ourselves on the offensive party without a just casus belli as the cause of war. The qualities of a just casus belli are outlined here:

"legitimate defense by military force"

- The reason for going to war needs to be just and cannot therefore be solely for recapturing things taken (excluding unlawful land gains and the like) or punishing people who have done wrong (unless it is in mass-murderous or genocidal proportions or such things)

- While there may be rights and wrongs on all sides of a conflict, to override the presumption against the use of force, the injustice suffered by one party must significantly outweigh that suffered by the other

- Force may be used only in a truly just cause and solely for that purpose correcting a suffered wrong is considered a right intention, while material gain or maintaining economies is not.

- Force may be used only after all peaceful and viable alternatives have been seriously tried and exhausted or are clearly not practical. It may be clear that the other side is using negotiations as a delaying tactic and will not make meaningful concessions.

- The anticipated benefits of waging a war must be proportionate to its expected evils or harms. This principle is also known as the principle of macro-proportionality, so as to distinguish it from the jus in bello principle of proportionality.

- The weapons used in war must discriminate between combatants and non-combatants. Civilians are never permissible targets of war, and every effort must be taken to avoid killing civilians. The deaths of civilians are justified only if they are unavoidable victims of a deliberate attack on a military target.

- The ultimate goal of a just war is to re-establish peace. More specifically, the peace established after the war must be preferable to the peace that would have prevailed if the war had not been fought.

We, the *INSERT NAME HERE* will use any and all Optional Aggression clauses present in our foreign treaties with limits in order to create a better and peaceful world, asking that the allied aggressive party must have a legit casus belli for the war to be just.

All of that would be placed within their charter. I'd like to point out the following main point:

- The ultimate goal of a just war is to re-establish peace. More specifically, the peace established after the war must be preferable to the peace that would have prevailed if the war had not been fought.

It appears this is their justification, that attacking to establish a better peace is needed. However, in their analysis of the situation, they fired the first shot. A shot that would have remain unfired if they simply didn’t do anything at all.

Indeed, what they believe they are doing is right, but it is still wrong. They did aggressively seize the mansion of the Baron, starting this war. Yet, the Republic of Mariehamm still did not go on the offensive; they recognized the attack as an act of war and made a declaration, on the defensive. On a daily basis, their intelligence systems in the form of ELINT, SAR and other devices are reporting continuous rumblings at the border. Obviously, the Baron appreciates his sovereign right to march his troops on his own land.

The fact that Greater Nordic Government, which has been negotiating for years with this man [ Baron Uberstein ], has at last become tired of being mocked by him in such an unworthy way, fills us all, the European Nordic people, and all other decent people in the world, with deep satisfaction. The Greater Nordic Reich have been finally compelled, in view of this, and in loyalty to themselves, to carry on the struggle against the Republic of Mariehamm using the excuse that insults are now a worthy CB.

I worked with the Greater Nordic Government to establish a charter amendment that would keep peace. They failed to meet this amendment. Not only are they a threat to the international community as well as Europe, but they are a threat to their own people. If they are willing to violate their own charter, it is unknown what other violations will happen to the charter that their people trusted them to follow when their government needs to fulfill their own goals.

Their goal is not peace, its order. An order under them. Considering other internationally recognized entities are still seen on Europe, they are a threat to the continent. Considering that they have violated international law, their word, and have violated my trust, and the trust of others, we cannot be sure they will stop in Europe. Considering their justification for this war is peace, we do not know when these peacekeeping missions will happen on our territories.

So to protect Mariehamm, to protect ourselves, and to protect the world, we have come together to bring this nation down to a respectable size.

To lay it out:

• - For firing the first shot in an effort to achieve “peace in Europe” As stated and published by the government of the GNR,

We the World Congress, the Global Peace Initiative, faithful allies, and other respectable nations of the world have come to find the Greater Nordlandic Reich the aggressor in the war, and therefore declare war on them in the name of peace.

His reading was interrupted by his secretary who barged in.

“Meh. They beat me to it.”

”Have the military move. No more stand by. Keep the borders safe and the seas cleared. I want the Navy in the Mediterranean Sea by tonight and the air force in Italy in three hours.”

“Do we attack yet?”

“No, we wait and plan.”

Mykep looked at his desk. Looked at his plans for Nordland, and put them aside to a blank sheet of paper. He decided it was time to address the world…again.

You, the nations of the world, all of us, together we have fought all our lives for what we see as the greater good of our nations. We have fought each other, and one another. Yet, one force has always been there to drive everyone else down. They have driven everyone else out of this life and into the after life. I can tell you that in these dark moments of history, I came to believe that there was nothing left worth fighting for. But I have been shown, through the courage, faith and honour of others that there is still one more battle left to be waged. It shall be waged against tyranny, and the slaughter of innocents. Let us defend to the last breathe this world we live upon, against those who would tear its heart and soul! And then those who come after us will remember there is such a thing as a Free world!

In history, some events at first appear insignificant, or their significance is hidden, but they turn out to be earthshaking. This will be one of those days; A day that stands out in history. The one thing I ask of you is to stand with me!"

If they wish for war through peace, then by all means. Lets give it them!

3 Carrier groups as well as 7 transport ships will be spotted going into the Med holding 200,000 troops and 7,000 tanks. Their mission is to deliver the troops and tanks to the bases in Imperium Romanum.
