The NEAT Idea "Civilization can only revive when there shall come into being in a number of individuals a new tone of mind, independent from the prevalent one among the crowds and in opposition to it; a tone of mind which will gradually win influence over the collective one, and in the end determine it's character. Only an ethical movement can rescue us from barbarism, and the ethical comes only into existence in individuals." - Albert Schweizer Nations Empowered Against Totalitarianism (NEAT) is a collection of independent nations brought together for the purpose of peace, progress and the pursuit of a more just and ethical Digiterra. We in NEAT recognize the sovereign rights of every nation to be able to move freely and grow their nation in peace so long as they are causing no harm around them. Within our own alliance we recognize the equality of all our members. We secure this equality through the practice of direct-democracy. Each nation has a equal vote and is allowed to rise and fall on it's own merits. No nation will be found insignificant to another while participating in our community. In our pursuit of a more ethical Digiterra we will provide a new way of thinking, demonstrate a new example of economic growth and security, and we will reach out to those who are abused in order to provide a safe haven for all nations who wish to peacefully enjoy Digiterra. Lastly, we in NEAT value these three principles among our members: Honesty, Understanding, and Passion. With those traits we will grow strong as one and if or when we are faced with danger, we will prevail as one and in the light of justice. Peace and Love to all, Nations Empowered Against Totalitarianism The International/Nations Empowered Against Totalitarianism: Protectorate Agreement Preamble The International (INT) and Nations Empowered Against Totalitarianism (NEAT) have found a mutually beneficial association with each other. To ensure that this is not disturbed by outside forces, and to further develop bonds of friendship and commerce, we hereby voluntarily enter into this binding agreement. Article I Sovereignty: Both alliances shall respect and abide by the internal and external sovereignty of the other with exception of the limitations mentioned below. Neither party takes responsibility for the independent actions or statements of the others. Joint statements or actions will be explicitly identified as such. Article II Protection: INT affirms that they shall provide protection to their full ability to NEAT. This includes, but is not limited to, military, diplomatic, intelligence, and trade venues. NEAT is highly encouraged, but has no obligation, to render similar assistance to INT if requested. Article III Commerce: NEAT affirms that they shall give INT the opportunity to purchase tech for fair market value. Both alliances guarantee the completion in a timely manner of all tech deals that are brokered between, regardless of which individual countries entered into the deal. Article IV Security: In an effort to limit exposure of one alliance to the enemies of the other and to avoid conflict in already established agreements, both alliances agree to maintain open communication regarding newly proposed treaty agreements. Article V Conduct: All member nations of both alliances shall conduct themselves respectfully towards the other. Both alliances agree to keep any problems in private channels. Article VI Voting: NEAT agrees to encourage, but not require, their membership to vote for INT approved senate candidates in cases where the NEAT member is on the same team as the approved candidate. Postamble It is the intention of both INT and NEAT that his agreement shall remain in force until such time as it is deemed no longer necessary by mutual consensus. If it is deemed necessary to terminate this agreement without mutual consent, such termination may take place two weeks after written notice by the party terminating the agreement, unless otherwise agreed between the parties. AFAIK the reformation of NEAT was a long-term project that finally came to its realization: they were playing with the idea months and months ago (they're just "a bit" slow...) jerdge Posted June 3, 2009 Report Share Posted June 3, 2009 I was actually saying that you were already thinking of reforming NEAT months ago (since March at the very least) though you didn't have a clear plan, nor a time schedule, and you weren't at all sure of when and if you would have done it.
