Cataduanes Posted May 12, 2009 Report Share Posted May 12, 2009 (edited) Amid increasingly confused reports it is becoming apparent that two days ago disgruntled sections of the military mounted a coup in Manila, further reports have shown that across the Philippine archipelago law and order has collapsed as rival factions of the military have begun openly fighting each other. The former leader of the ousted military government, General Erramun Sendoa has reportedly been killed along with much of the senior command during the opening stages of the coup. pro-Coup Filipino Artillery outside of Manila. Since that bloody opening of the crisis the nation further destabilized with some military units in Malaysia rejecting all sides in the civil war, further north in on the Malaya peninsular military units formerly engaged in fighting with Thai insurgents have begun withdrawing and returning to the Philippine islands to participate in the fighting, leaving the territory open to take over by the Thai rebels. Troops of the Mindanao Army that has maintained law and order on the island. The only section of the nation to remain clam has been in Mindanao where local Filipino army commanders based in the ethnic Filipino Malay Northern districts have joined forces with the large Japanese and Korean population in the southern districts of the island to maintain law and order, many observers expect these forces to declare some sort of independent state in Mindanao. Refugees who have fled areas in which fierce fighting is taking place. While chaos reigns in Malaya and open civil war is raging in the Philippines the humanitarian crisis afflicting the civilian population is staggering in its enormity. So far the international community has yet to reach a consensus on how to deal with this crisis, so complete and rapid has the collapse of the Philippines Freestate been. As for the distribution of my lands I formerly handover Mindanao in Sumeragi (but please Sumer remember you got Filipino-Malay’s in the north of the island ), To the remainder of my lands I do hope it can be used for new players to claim however out of respect for my closest ingame allies I shall allow Neo Japan and Tanis to have first choice on any of the remaining territory. Last but not least I wish to thank CNRP and its players (both past and present), I have enjoyed my time whenever possible and I will certainly try to return in the future when time constraints are less of a factor. It has been long since the last period of unrest or war has been known. We of the Pax Pacifica are sending peacekeeping troops to restore order in the collapsing Philippines Freestate. This is a temporary measure only, as we have no wish nor desire to extend out lands. Each nation of the pact has agreed to non expansion, and we will not be using this lack of government as a springboard to extend any of our borders.The land shall be handed over to a competent local government should one rise, or failing that, held as an area in free association with the joint nations of the Pax Pacifica. If a suitable neighbouring authority wishes to expand their claims to this land, it shall be denied until a referendum of the people can be taken. As an initial pledge, 3 infantry divisions of the Glorious Aotearoan Army will be sent to the islands, in a low key peacekeeping role, acting as military police. For transport and escort, they will be attached to the prestigious VIIth Marine division, onboard patrol squadron VII, a group of 3 Supercruisers and one Interdictor. This action shall be transparent to international press, and we are inviting any and all reporters from every nation to join this peacekeeping taskforce provided conditions relating to identification and personal safety are met. Roughly an hour before the release was sent public, XIVth, XXXIInd and LIXth divisions were changed from standby to mobilised, and started to assemble and move to the harbour and naval barracks where Fleet Squadron VII and Marine Division VII were stationed. An extra battalion of Engineers was placed with this taskforce, as civilian infrastructure and other crucial aspects of the nation will indubitably need to be repaired. Sailing 9 hours after the press release the Squadron was to make good time along the relatively short journey from the Solomon's to Philippines Freestate. LVN, Madame Unicorn, and myself. Now I don't mind, but I'd like to see a decent thread made up, which you have to solve the Fasci Problem, then do your refugees, you can't have two nations after all . We simply wish for the reinstating of a new local government, so that we may remove our peacekeeping troops. We have no need nor want for that land, and do not wish to be "left holding the baby" as it were. We are simply here to aid whatever new government rises in keeping the peace in the pacific. A simple call to local ports on Mindanao found one able to let the ships dock, and unload their supplies. As the port they had landed was not an active combat zone, the divisions were offloaded and advance troops moved to secure the majority of the town, utilizing drone recon via BattleNet. Small units with shouldered weapons went around houses, informing the populace of the fact that peacekeepers were in the region and that aid supplies would be handed out as soon as they were off loaded. Engineers started work on ensuring the three main public utilities were in working order, Power, Water and Sanitation. LeVentNoir Posted May 15, 2009 Report Share Posted May 15, 2009 After over two week of movement out wards, Glorious Aotearoan troops had managed to secure most of Mindanao, and roughly half of Luzon after another two divisions had been dispatched to that island. Resistance had been sporadic but fierce. Brief and violent clashes with insurgent forces as well as firefights because of mistaken identity with ex philippine army troops had taken a small toll but due to the mobile warfare style taken by one side and the peacekeeping role of the GAA, only few deaths on either side were reported. Engineers had stored power, water and sewerage systems to roughly 80% of stabilized land, while military presence in these areas was being kept a a deliberate minimum. It was expected that soon full order would be restored and soon a local government would rise, allowing the PP peacekeepers to leave. If you hadn't slipped through the nigh overwhelming community opposition to you being a GM, you would be saying that Sumer doesn't have the SOI, or something else. This is just another reason why you should not be a GM, you stay biased, and when you don't like someone, you try to make hell for them, and now that you have power, you can arbitrarily impose rules on those people to make sure they can't do anything. I really have no intention to recognise any of your randomly, non-supported, imposed rules, and intend fully to wait for another GM to make a ruling. IC: We are sorry to see the Philippines leave the world stage, and are greatly sorry for it's people, for truly hell is coming for you, under an Aotearoan flag. The precedent and accepted "ruling" on OOC gifts is that they are accepted. I mean, just last month, JED gave me and Margrave the UK.
