Beauty
Announcement from the Republic of Paris The Republic of Paris hereby asks Canada withdraw all military personnel from Sao Tome and Principe within 48 hours, or face a trade embargo from The Republic of Paris enforced by air support and civilian reconnaissance. The Republic of Paris will be shipping in supplies to these islands to provide food and aid to the people who inhabit the Islands. These Islands are not needed and owning these islands far from the mainland of Canada shows nothing but colonization in Africa, one of the things that the former nation of Rebel Army had protected against so long. This nation has nothing in common with the people of Sao Tome and Pricipe. The ownership of these colonies has also sparked many stories of Forced Labor and Imperialism in The Republic of Paris. Rumours have spread that kidnappings have been done by Canadian Government on the peoples of Sao Tome and Principe and those cannot be answered without proper investigation as these claims have been evident and very convincing. We ask the Government of Canada to withdraw Military Personell and set the Islands free or give the Islands to the PRA to handle as a protectorate. 48 hours are left until this embargo will take action. The ball is in your court, Canada. Signed, Zola Congo, Federal Chancellor Makena Gowon, Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs Lerato Mbadinuju, Federal Minister of Defense Parliament: Awotwi Kone Esi Omehia Lindiwe Igbinedion Sethunya Conteh Thandiwe Sekibo Mirembe Turay
JEDCJT
"In the interests of continued freedom and prosperity of the peoples of Sao Tome and Principe, the Government of Canada must firmly reject the ultimatum posed by the Republic of Paris. Under no circumstances will Canada reliquish an ounce of sovereignity and jurisdiction of Sao Tome and Principe, and not especially to the ridiculous ultimatum and the equally ludicrious accusations levied by the Government of the Republic of Paris. The peoples of Sao Tome and Principe had experieced nothing but freedom and prosperity under the Greenlandic and now Canadian flag, and in fact an overwhelming percent of the people there recently voted to join Canada as a full-pledged province. How this translates to 'forced labor', 'oppression', and 'kidnappings' we do not know, and will never know, but one thing for sure is that trade and commercial access to Sao Tome and Principe will continue, and any attempt by the Republic of Paris to impose an embargo to the province will not be tolerated." Tanis777
Private Dispatch from the Californian State Department To: Republic of Paris Foreign Affairs Department The credibility of the Republic of Paris, due to the recent war on the former Yaza Hajin, is hardly warranting these so-called "rumors" of kidnapping, forced labor, and oppression by Canada. Our knowledge of Canada is known as a very open country with great amount of civil liberties. Sao Tome and Principe has been announced to be part of the Canada as another province. This island is no longer considered just a colony but a full-fledged sovereign part of Canada with an overwhelming super majority. Sudden demands for a 48 hour withdraw and embargo is poor diplomatic tact on the Republic's part. While Sao Tome and Principe is not of traditional Canadian population, Canada has administered the island in a good faith. California looks poorly on this move and supports Canada. Secretary of State Kevin O'Malley
Classified Meanwhile, in the Californian Department of Defense, a statement of support and intentions to Canada would be faxed to Joint Base Hill where it would be hand delivered to Canada in Idaho. It would simply stated, "Californian military at heighten state of alert, DEFCON 3. Support on the Sao Tome and Principe issue is given in whatever course of action is taken. - Cal. DoD." Californian
PRIVATE Klaus Isolfursson looked over the documents again. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs had just sent him a comprehensive folder on the Republic of Paris. “Ah, Najimibia, why am I not surprised,” he musingly said while rubbing his beard and scanning through the documents. Of course, the Republic of Paris was looking to repeat the Rugen Incident. The damn Rugen Incident, Isolfursson muttered to himself, remembering the difficult position Canada had been in only months ago. Of course, the Sovereign-Generals had ultimately decided to hand over the land, but Isolfursson knew this was going to be different. Rugen was a territory recently given to it by the former Germanisk Forbund, whereas Sao Tome and Principe was now an integral province of Greenland, and Canada. An attack on Sao Tome and Principe was like an attack on Proxia or Atlantis, and it would be defended, especially against Najimibia, ehem, Paris. Immediately, deployment orders were given to reinforce Sao Tome and Principe. Unlike Rugen, Sao Tome and Principe had a large military presence, which had gotten only high in the recent months following Rugen. Over 60,000 men currently secured the islands, and an additional 30,000 were to be immediately deployed. Canada was lowered to DEFCON 2. All military united were put on high alert, with the men already on Sao Tome and Principe preparing for an eventual invasion of Canadian sovereignty. A fleet of two cruisers, five submarines, and one aircraft carrier were immediately deployed to Sao Tome and Principe, and ten more squadrons of fighter aircraft were sent to reinforce the five already on the islands. Finally, the Umbrella Commonwealth was asked to provide additional fleet support to reinforce the allied military presence on the Sao Tome and Principe islands. PUBLIC The ultimatum by the Republic of Paris had an effect on the citizens of Sao Tome and Principe, though different from what others may have been predicting. Using social media, the citizens were able to organize mass protests against the Republic of Paris only hours after the statement, and tens of thousands of islanders began to take to the streets in protest. The capital city was effectively shut down as demonstrations began to happen. Many of the citizens held signs condemning the newly formed Republic and accusing it of hypocrisy, especially after its terrorist affiliations and recent coup d’etat. The provincial RCMP was quick to ensure that little crime or violence actually occurred during the protests, but the people were protesting against another country, not Canada or Sao Tome. Centurius
"The Athenian Federation must place significant doubts at any statement coming from a state that only weeks ago was still under attack for supporting extremists and clearly is hardly capable of defending itself, let alone project power. The fact you would transfer authority to a questionable and stagnant nation only further proves your lack of skill in the international field. Captain Enema
Legion Announcement "While we wish the Republic of Paris had consulted the rest of Africa before they made such a move, we applaud them. Legion will stand with the Republic of Paris during this time. To the last man if needed. Republic of Paris, expect our arrival shortly, Legion is coming." Taskforce Constable, Aremor Unable to be in two places at once, Taskforce Constable faces a considerably difficult decision. Split its forces and head south or stay in one place. Given the direness of the situation and the need for bold decisive action, a distinct choice is made. A Task Force consisting of four Battlecruisers, 4 Guided Missile Cruisers, and 4 Destroyers, is detached from Aremor with the expectation of oncoming Legion air support from the land side. Without said air support the likelihood of success is minimal at best, but there isn't a care in the world at this point regarding the possible failure, only the hunger of making war. In Mogadishu the order goes out for the 404th to the 444th Air Squadrons to begin movement towards the Republic of Paris. With them will be going a full air transport regiment carrying fuel, supplies, weapons, and other needed tools of war. Paramount to this effort is the Legion's highly specialized and extremely dangerous ASM mobile units which are being deployed in secret. From the outside they look like a moving van, but once they fire, well the secret is more or less blown.
