I'd just like to point out that I was not included in SpiderJ's list of fail.

Not to slight IAA, VE, and other alliances which have disbanded and reformed, I'm not sure its fair to include them (numbered at least) in the main list. For example, NADC has existed for much longer total time than VE (in either of its incarnations) has. I mean, if tomorrow people (even if it was Ninja and Chris Miller themselves) posted saying that they were reviving the ICN, would we place them at #2 behind GATO?

I can't say I was part of it, but even from afar that was a fun one to watch. Probably the best rivalry between two alliances which never actually went to war (other than NPO-NpO).

Dove War here, first war I actually fought in was UJW. Twas then that I had my first ingame war with (my now good friend) Schattenman. Unfortunately we haven't been in the same NS bracket since.

I definitely wouldn't go so far as to call it the greatest, but from what I've heard the original rivalry between the NPO and the ODN to be the other game successor alliance was pretty heated back in the day. Remnants of this rivalry can still be seen today (#nsa for instance).

Polaris - I most certainly don't agree with a number of the stances they take, but I'm not sure I know of an alliance which so steadfastly sticks to its principles and refuses to let others influence them. Their independence and the vigour with which they support their allies is something all alliances should strive for. Add that to the fact that their ingame prowess (430 members/4,657 nukes, amazing) and you have pretty much the optimal alliance. IRON - I have great issues with them politically, but their general membership is dedicated and capable on a level I think few other large alliances can match. Their strong recovery post-Karma was expected, but that doesn't make it any less impressive. Also, Matt Miller is the proverbial explosive device.

Needs a new poll so I (and everyone else) can change to Worst War Ever.

For being so reasonable and level-headed, I wish you'd actually get involved in alliance politics more. Or maybe not getting involved in alliance politics makes you reasonable and level-headed...
