  1. Read again: Also... Oh my, NPO is powerless to stop them!!! Get real. We both know what would really happen. As soon as the original war decs cleared NPO would be making new ones against the offenders. They would be kept at war until NPO got tired of dropping bombs and they wouldn't get tired. And you know what? 99% of the alliances in existence would do the same thing. If you want to claim NSO would not, I'll laugh in your face. Whatever that means.
  2. I will not pretend to speak for Moo. However, some personal opinion here... 1. a great number of people now calling for an end to PZI and EZ 2. some of those calling for change are in positions of power/influence 3. you see people calling for an end to it not just from the safety of Peace Mode or in mostly irrelevant alliances, but from within NPO and from NPO's closet allies It would seem to me that when your friends and family are telling you something, it has far more influence than when strangers and/or people you don't respect are telling you. I think that's where we are on this. It's the right thing to do (indeed it goes further than even I might have gone), and it is being recognized as the right thing to do at last. Was it done strictly on ethical grounds without regard to PR? We wouldn't be talking about here if it were. However, that doesn't invalidate the gesture at all.
  3. You've come a long way since we chatted on IRC regarding the possibility of you getting a protectorate from Rok, Carter. May you continue to prosper.
  4. Simple. Five people break off from...ODN...fill in the blank alliance doesn't matter. They call themselves the "Anti-Dilber Bloc" and three of them start nuking Dilber, and the other two start nuking random NPO nations in range. What's the punishment for that? One round of war? Hardly. That's like giving a stiff fine for aggravated assault. Maybe it occurred to them that a more moderate policy is in order? Maybe they figured out that PZI and EZI creates Vox whiners? Maybe it's because all the cool kids are doing it? Maybe it's just the right thing to do? (and it is) Or if you insist on being a cynic, maybe it is just politics. Does it really matter? Why not just applaud NPO and move on?
  5. Says the man who through his own actions embarrassed close allies, not once, but twice, because you couldn't keep your mouth shut and maintain OPSEC, jeopardizing the Coalition War in the process and nearly getting Ragnarok rolled in December. Blacklisted? I could of went any number of places but chose Ragnarok because I thought it was a place I could escape melodrama. I earned my way there every step of the way to the top. Funny that I ended up leaving because of melodrama. Why melodrama? Well see...TailsK was a large part of that, so were all the people agonizing over whether to leave or not, or the high government people you promised protectorates to and 10 Rok members as a parting gift (rescinding some of those was so much fun...like minor dental work), but let's be honest, there was this sudden power vacuum that developed right before Christmas.... Fine you left for OOC reasons. I respected those. But don't come in here and piss all over me. You are one of the last people on earth who should be throwing rocks. With that I leave this topic, because I'm out of bounds. You want me, you know where to find me.
  6. Knowledge of the existence of the server is pretty easy to come by, even OOC. Access to the IC conversations in the channels on that server was and is completely in bounds. In the interest of international relations (and because I find accusations of OOC attacks about something like this silly but I recognize that some may not see it that way), I have edited my previous post. However, if you wish to take the issue further with me IC, I think you know where to find my nation.
  7. You're right. Though it would be nice if they came out of their secret IRC channel on irc.xxxxxxxxxxxxx.net and actually...I don't know...did something other than talk? Maybe if I offer to buy them pizza instead....
  8. /rips off the muzzle That's better. Because when they do it, it's correct, silly. FYI: TRON and I are in almost complete agreement on this issue. Someone wants to reroll and come back, so be it. I leave the door open for PZI simply because some "characters" just need to go away and a new ruler come into being. Rok can tell you all about this of course. Terry Howard has re-rolled countless times and come back as...Terry Howard. He's Rok's favorite target practice dummy.
  9. It's real enough all right. Pardon me, my muzzle itches.
  10. I hope I remember it, I wrote it. Oh and... The can of tuna is on the blue shelf...the can of tuna is on the blue shelf. C. I know FAR more than anyone at Vox about what's going on behind the scenes. The smart play here for members of SF is to let the disgruntled guy spout off a bit in a reunion thread and let it go. You're smoking up the room and it draws attention you don't want from those looking for fire.
  11. I'd call you a cab so you could leave, but I know it wouldn't do any good.
  12. Schecterville...good luck to you and welcome back.
  13. This is good for Valhalla and what's good for Valhalla is always hailworthy. o/ Valhalla o/ Purple
  14. Actually I think I just did. While I singled out RIA, Vox gets its information from other alliances as well. RIA in particular came to mind only because of a conversation I had once in which Xiph and crew wasn't happy with RIA over some leak involving SuperFriends. Since I'm no longer associated with a SF alliance, I suggest you take it up with them.
  15. Tell ironchef I sent you and I'll vouch for you. Actually you and ironchef should get along great.
  16. This might be a small party. Though when you think about it, more than our fair share of alumni passed through and on to fame/infamy.
  17. I was a first grader in Mrs. Engle's class from September 1969 - June 1970. I was the youngest kid in my class and never attended Kindergarten--in essence, I tested out of it. I was fascinated with the Apollo Moon launches and didn't miss a single one.
  18. Well, well...another one week training exercise. I love how it is becoming stylish to announce a "merciful" 7 day war when in reality this war shouldn't even last 7 days, it should have ended in UBD handing over to the offenders for ZI through a diplomatic process or a few days of war and followed by same. Good luck with your "noble" cause though you don't need it. UBD is absolutely no match for MK on any level militarily speaking and if every single UBD not in PM at the beginning isn't anarchied and in danger of bill lock when this is over, MK as an alliance needs to go back to war school. Wargarden, it's not that the war isn't justified, it's that what used to be a quick 2-3 battle followed by a very quick surrender is now being lengthened and called "merciful". Otherwise I have really no quibble with it.
  19. I don't think it was forthcoming anyway, but you *could* have at least asked. No, resignation from office is the right thing to do. Resignation from the alliance? You really aren't saving anyone any pain by doing so. Your alliance is being punished as a group and you are not exempt. At least pretend to counterattack and perhaps save them a bit of damage. Then again, you're at DEFCON 4 (?!). Exactly what constitutes a national emergency and going to DEFCON 1 in your nation, the pizza delivery guy doesn't take checks?
  20. It's true, \m/, like Elvis, is everywhere. Somehow, someday, we have to get you peace in this God forsaken game. You're too stubborn to be anything but Lady D, so I guess we're going to have to get you paroled to Valhalla or something. Love you too my dear.
  21. CSM, I spend surprisingly little time thinking of Electron Sponge these days. I have too much to do in RL and when I'm concentrating on dear old Planet Bob, it's mundane things like trying to get Valhalla's recruiting jump started, fussing over why tech sellers can't seem to gasp the concept of sending tech after they are sent cash for it, and when it is I might actually get to shoot something again. Occasionally I set aside time to troll write posts in these forums, make suggestions for changes I'd like to see in the game mechanics, and talk to friends in Valhalla on Skype. That leaves me about 30 second once or twice a month to think about the old days, what could have been, what still could be, and remind your Sponge that he's not the smartest kid in the class and never was. Actually Slayer99 busts on him FAR more than I ever do and Slayer is of course not an alumnus of \m/. You remember Sponge as that guy that ran NpO when it was a member of the Initiative and an ally of \m/. By the time the final war had started you were long gone from the game. You never suffered the trauma of disbandment because you weren't there for it. In other words, your opinion on this matter is of no value. Your opinion of me I could honest care less about. You had a chance to *matter* when you came back by joining TORN, Rok, Valhalla or even RAD and not be part of one of the longest running jokes on Planet Bob. You chose poorly.
  22. We joined LW together in July 2007...and promptly got spanked because Jaz...right, "banned member" started up \m/OON and immediately started declaring wars without knowing anything about the game mechanics. As for \m/ 2.0... No such animal, never was. Each of the people/groups that went on from \m/ took different things from their experiences there and applied it to the alliances they ended up at down the road. RAD has the "lulz" factor, Rok the inner strength of good people in middle and upper government, Valhalla was heavily influenced by the warrior side of \m/, TORN and MK the loyalty. There were some spectacular successes, some very notable failures, but in the end \m/, like Elvis, is everywhere.
