1. Maybe putting a limit on the number of alliances would make the game interesting again. Like limiting the alliances to 12.
2. I have to say in my brief time in the New Pacific Order, Cortath is an awesome Emperor. He's approachable and even talks to new players who join the alliance. I was quite impressed.
3.
Negotiations? After an "act of war", the time for negotiations is "over", and prior to it there is nothing to negotiate over. Negotiations require the very act that renders them impossible in order to be possible. This means that negotiations cannot exist, and since negotiations do in fact exist then that means that there must be negotiations where there are none. Thus, not negotiating means you are negotiating. It's the same principle behind "Karma" change in fact not being change. Simple really.
I'm confused.
4.
For us, it's been four months and two weeks since the end of the conflict. I can still tolerate such time without war. Mostly because I've spent all that time paying reps, too. In fact, we at TOP did our plans with a year-long period of peace. We're not even half-way. Warchests and tech have to be rebuilt. Also, even in curbstomps, if you're directly in the line of fire, you'll suffer. Last war was arguably a curbstomp by the time Polaris did its little dance and C&G still took a beating, losing 40 to 50% of their NS. In all seriousness, some of us are trying a new approach to this game, since Admin is obviously not adding stuff. Changing style takes some time. I'm not sure if it's the same for other alliances, though.
Maybe the major problem is rebuilding. It takes a long time. Maybe something could be added to speed up the rebuilding process, but then again war terms would get even more extreme if that were the case.
5. CN is dying. I don't really see how any new improvements will make it more interesting. The players need to start getting creative and find ways to curb their boredum.
6. Awesome essay. What you wrote is so true.
7. Is the war close to coming to an end or will it probably linger for a few more weeks?
8.
- War is too expensive and gets more so as nations get bigger. - War is far too destructive, something people were saying years ago. - Once one side has the upper hand, the outcome is certain, the winner can just pound away until the loser finally gives in. - Terms are too harsh, way too harsh, but that's nothing new. In fact before changes to rules alliance forum ownership was often transferred.
You nailed it on the head right here. I still think the #1 reason for fewer wars is the insanely harsh terms. Many other alliances have fallen victim to this. The terms take them out of the game while they pay them and again for several months once their terms are over, because they need to rebuild. Maybe admin should make a rule about rep payments. For some wars they're getting out of hand and baiscally ruin the game for all of us. ....and this
I doubt this game will ever see a major war. Too, the game is hemorrhaging; the number of nations has been decreasing at an accelerating rate over the past 2.5 years. We're down to 22K nations now, a drop of nearly 30% from 12 months ago.
9. There are frankly too many ORDERS. They all must die!
10. Yes, CN is slowly dying unfortunately. Without war the CN is dreadfully boring. Here is a list of the reasons I think CN is dying. 1. God Awful and Harsh Terms (Example: 10 months of terms on the NPO) -- Harsh terms scare alliances away from war, because they risk losing a lot if they lose. 2. CNTE -- CNTE gives a reason not to war in regular CN. 3. Nations growing so big that they're not willing to sacrifice their pixels. -- I've noticed the bigger your nation is the more expensive it is to rebuild your nation. What took you years to build could be lost in days of war. 4. Waiting for a Valid CB -- Meh! Waiting for an alliance to make a mistake to declare war on them is silly. Why not declare war on them because they're on the Pink Team or something? 5. Too Many Alliances -- There is simply too many. We should declare war on them and make them disband. 6. Lack of Evil Alliances and Mega Rogues -- We need more evil nations and alliance - period! Then there will be a reason to declare war on them CN has turned into an economic/political world of stagnation. I really don't know how to fix it other than addressing the problems listed above. I've noticed quite a few people leaving CN, because it's boring. If things continue like this - CN will slowly die.
11. Honestly, I do not understand why any alliance would try so hard to avoid war. War is fun. Growing your nation years on end is boring.
12. This alliance is pretty awesome, imo.
13. A great reset, even though this is a joke, might make CN interesting again.
14.
Commentary Well it's all but over now - the Mostly Harmless Alliance leads the New Pacific Order by 4.80 points, and since admin said that he'll reset when this gets to 5.00, this is most likely the last Sanction Race update ever.
I must have missed something? I assume your joking.
15. Well, I suppose the New Pacific Order, the New Sith Order and the New Polar Order could all merge. We all have a common emperor - Ivan. We could form a world dominating alliance and rule the world!! I bet everyone would leap to this idea. We could set an example for everyone to follow by mergining into one big mega alliance.
16. The only way this could ever happen is if only a certain number of alliances were allowed in the game. They would need to be forced to disband to make it happen. If all the alliances mentioned were forced to disband, which alliances would people flock too?
17. You do have a valid point that there are too many alliances in this game. Unfortunately nothing will change. More and more alliances will continue to create. Alliances spread like the plague.
18. Welcome to the Red side. I look forward to easier formed trade circles on the red team. Having more trade options is nice.
19. I voted "no". Alliances change as people come and go. 10 months of reps is also very humbling. You really should try get to know the "new" NPO. Things have changed.
